Yankee, Carrots & Camouflage

Craig with Yankee TSVHi there!

So, how is 2013 so far for you?  I have to say I feel blessed to say that so far, I love this year, I know we are not that far into it but I have a really good feeling about it.

I've got good news in this week's blog if you are a Yankee Candle fan, plus all about how I got organised at home and a new weekly feature that I would love you to be a part of.

Firstly, Yankee Candle; Wow! What a weekend it was with Yankee Candles, I launched the first Yankee TSV of the year on Saturday night and the show was SO busy.

Craig's cupboardThank you so much for your texts, Facebook and Twitter messages, I do realise it's annoying to get in touch and then not have your messages read out but when a show is that busy there just isn't time. I do appreciate and read every message when I get home.

The TSV sold out by the afternoon which was no surprise as it was such a fab deal. What was a surprise though was the large jar candles, 'Exotic Escapes' on Auto Delivery, which are the new fragrances for 2013.They sold out within the first hour of the day!

Craig's cupboard tidyWe have had SO many messages from people saying how disappointed they were to miss out, so the good news is that they are COMING BACK!! Hurrah!!!! It will be the same deal AND we will be offering them on Auto Delivery so you will get your three large jar candles in new fragrances every season.

I'm not sure of the specific date yet but I will tweet and Facebook it as soon as I know!!

You can see me in the picture smiling as I took the delivery of mine yesterday, I ordered them live on air just before they sold out!

CRAIG tidy cupboardNext, are you thinking about getting more organised at home?

I am a virgo so I like things neat and tidy but I do struggle with storage, particularly in the cupboard under the stairs and on top of my wardrobes. I only have a small flat with no attic or basement so I have to use every bit of space I can find.

That's why I have loved getting to know the products and solutions from the Camouflage Company. Compared to other storage brands, I find their boxes and bags strong, well made, versatile and of course they look great!

Tidy craigxWhat do you think of my make over of the chaotic cupboard under the stairs which now looks a haven of calm?

Above my wardrobes where there was once a mish-mash of boxes, is now a stylist storage hub!! I have used a combination or household caddies, and medium and large storage bags, all in Gingham Blue.

I adore Louise and Corinne, the sisters who created this brand, and they are back at QVC during the Household Helpers shows.

Tidy wardrobeWell, I guess I am not the only one who made resolutions to be healthier this year?? I'd love to know what yours are.

I had over done it in 2012 and if you watch QVC, you will know that I have a really sweet tooth. I also enjoy wine, bread, cakes, biscuits… the list goes on! SO, in a bid to start feeling a bit healthier, I am doing a three week macrobiotic booster programme developed by a wonderful lady called Marlene Tara-Watson. I met Marlene through Debbie Flint who has been eating macrobiotic for a while and it has had great results and she looks so radiant and well.

After taking part in a weekend workshop that Debbie organised with Marlene, I felt suitably inspired so I got through christmas and I am now into week one of the three week programme. So far I've had loads of medicinal teas, whole foods, seaweeds, green leafy veg, grains and seasonal veg, and no coffee, sugar, meat or dairy.

Black and white carrotsFor me, it's difficult but I am loving it and I'm enjoying taking the time to learn more about food. For example, I didn't know organic, untampered carrots can come in black and white (see pic!)… I'll let you know how I get on with the other two weeks.

Finally, a new feature! Just a bit of fun but every time I blog I will share with you the following and I'd love to know yours too. I think its a great way of getting to know each other, so here we go;

1. BEST BIT OF THE WEEK; – bumping into an old work friend who I had not seen for 10 years, we had never had chance to say goodbye at the BBC, so it was a goodbye, hello and reunion all in one!

2. FAVOURITE PRODUCT OF THE WEEK; – this won't always be a QVC thing but this week it is – it's the camouflages boxes I mentioned above, the camouflage sisters have made my mess, less!!

3. HAPPY THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK; – when I launched the Yankee Candle TSV I wore bright yellow, the candles were full of colour and I felt great. In these darker days of winter let's do everything we can to add the joy of colour into our lives 🙂 I would love to know yours!

Much love and see you soon,

Craig xx

I’d have to take my dogs with me but hope all 3 would count as 1 as they’re only small,. A hefty supply of Yankee candles goes without saying & finally I’d take my IPad with all my readings etc on it.

    Hi Craig,
Your cupboard looks fab – great improvement and looks scarily organised! Well done you.
    1. Best bit of the week – going for a lovely meal with two of my true friends, catching up on all the gossip and giggling like school girls. It was actually our christmas get together – yes I know it’s the middle of Jan but it was the first time we could all get together. It was a magical evening.
    2. Fav product of the week – As my skin’s looking a bit like the weather, grey, I decided to revisit an old friend, Liz Earle. And it was wonderful to pamper myself and be reminded of why I love it, the smell, the feel good factor and the lift its given to my skin and my soul.
    3. Happy thought – what a lucky girl I am to have a wonderful family, fantastic friends and my big pink fluffy bed socks xxx

Hi Craig, Great Blog as usual, thank you for taking the time to share with us. Its very lovely and very inspiring! I need to get my house in order, especially since Santa left lots of pressies for my children who also had their birthdays in November and December! What with our wedding in November and a new kitchen being fitted as we speak, i dont know if im coming or going haha.
BEST BIT OF THE WEEK : You last Sunday Craig! showing my wedding photos on Yankee candle tsv!!! Was such an amazing day and as i said, made all the more special by the Yankee candles i had everywhere that have left a lasting scent with everyone who attended, and made our winter wedding day so magical!
FAVOURITE PRODUCT OF THE WEEK : I dont mean it to be the theme….but Yankee candles hahaha only because i bought the amazing TSV you and Rosa did last Sunday and as i am convalescing in bed from a lumber puncture on wednesday, these wonderful, bright and uplifing candles are really keeping my spirits up! lol.
HAPPY THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK :knowing as poorly as im feeling this week, my children and my friends have been telling me how much they love and care for me on a daily basis and sending me lots of happy thoughts. Sometime we dont realise, or forget, how much we mean to people and they to us, and its lovely to be reminded.
Onwards and upwards, tomorrow is another wonderful day xxxx

    Hi Craig
Love your blog. You really are getting sorted and tidy and the gingham is funky and cheerful. Greatest respect for doing a detox, I could not give up tea or coffee for anything! ☕☕☕
    My 3 things are:
    1. Best bit of the week – today walking around Winterley Lake near to where I live. The sky was blue, there was beautiful sunshine and a sparkly crisp feel to the day. Fed the hungry wildlife too! Photos on my twitter page.
    2. Best purchase – yankee TSV 🙂 my home is now a tropical hideaway .. Bliss.

    HI Sarah
haha, your comments made me laugh, the one about opening the cupboards and everything falling out!! I SO know that one! I have realised true de-cluttering means going through every box, drawer and cupboard – just do 1 drawer at a time, a little often instead of a whole weekend of it…
Love your 3 things, glad to hear your friend has returned, what a brave woman 😉
Let me know how you get on with Tresonics (i have the clarisonics which I use once a week) and yes, yellow tulips, how lovely!! My fave are daffodhils, as soon as they are in the shops I will be buying them by the bunch!
Thanks for getting in touch Sarah, its so great that you are so supportive.
    Much love

what type of dogs do you have?
I love whippets and italian greyhounds and they are diddy, if I had room I think I’d have about 5 dogs!!
I am definitely with you on the Yankee and iPad…. and did you have a happy thought for the week?

    HI Clare
I have only just started getting organised over the last year or so with my clutter, I just realised I was holding onto lots of things I never used. I do buy a lot especially from QVC but I can honestly say that now I pretty much use or love things I buy with a couple of exceptions of course!!
I loved your 3 things, isnt funny how its the simple things in life like a partner, family and a warm bath and glass of vino that can make us so happy….
Thanks so much for getting in touch, hope to hear from you again,

    Hi Karen
thanks for getting in touch, haha – yes, rather organised – its the virgo in me!! Be afraid, very afraid!! 😉
Oh, I love those late christmas get togethers in January!! I once did a full christmas day complete with tree and roast dinner in late January for the same reasons as you said and it was such fun!! Did you have a christmas meal?
Great to hear you re-discovered Liz Earle, I love it when that happens! I tend to use Decleor, Elemis, Liz Earle & SBC, depends what shows I am doing and what I am trialling. I would like to try Perricone too now that I am the big 40 😉
Love the idea of the pink fluffy socks, haha!! thats a bit like me with my Northern Nights flannel, have you ever tried that?
    Do stay in touch

Hello! Craig how do you manage to be so chirpy all the time? You’re such a tonic. Well here are my 3 choices:
    best bit: watching my 2 beautiful cocker spaniels play in the snow;
best purchase: my TSV Oreck! As a sufferer of the condition Fibromyalgia, it’s been an absolute godsend!
best thought of the week: Go with the flow!As they say , the old ones are often the best! (any fibro sufferers out there will understand my choice!)
Well Craig, I’ve really enjoyed this little exercise, very uplifting. I’ll be a regular to your ‘3 0f the best’ post!

    Hi Sarah K
Ahhhh, thank you very much for saying that. Knowing that I can lift other people’s spirits is a real compliment 🙂
I am of course, not always jolly but whenever I get down I remind myself I have much to be thankful for.
I must admit I don’t know much about Fibromyalgia, I should learn more about it as I seem to be hearing about it more at the moment, how do you live with it day to day and are there certain things you can do to help or any advice for a friend who wanted to help someone with this condition? I’m guessing hugs would need to be gentle, not one of my big strong bear hugs!
Love your 3 things! Have you seen Debbie flints daughters’s spaniel? He’s gorgeous! Glad you like your Oreck, aren’t they brilliant and yes, go with the flow – good advice!
So glad you’re be writing to me again…!
    Much love
