Work hard, play hard & don’t lick the stitches!

Does anyone else feel that half-term has arrived a bit quickly? I think in Warwickshire we had a later Easter holiday than everyone else, so we blinked and we are off again – not that I am complaining mind you, a week off ironing the school uniform and getting up with the alarm is ALWAYS welcome!

Saying that, I did have a 4:30am start on Wednesday as Jackie and I began the QVC day with the Morning Show – I am always so thankful for the job that I have, the fact that I don’t necessarily have to fight through commuter traffic and that I’m always greeted by a wonderful gang on the broadcasting floor! We were super happy with our Phase Eight tops too, lovely colours to match the glorious sunshine that we keep getting tastes of!

Talking of good weather, on May Bank Holiday Monday, we always have a local wool fair and the entire town is taken over by rare breeds of sheep and everything to do with wool that you can imagine. Local knitters go to town decorating everywhere with knitted everything. All the shop windows are bedecked with knitted plates of food, knitted houses, knitted people, knitted buildings -it’s incredible! This year was the first one in as long as I have lived here that it hasn’t bucketed with rain – although of course, it runs for six hours and the moment we arrived the heavens opened for about 30 seconds, just to make me feel welcome I’m sure!

Oh and on the farm animal front – does anyone else think this pig has to have been inspiration for the Fraggle Rock dog??? …and by the way, COMPLETELY unrelated – but I watched Bird Box… it’s AMAZING!!!!

In this pic, I am sporting what has become a firm favourite that we just can’t keep in stock, the short sleeved faux leather jacket from Isaac Mizrahi and a dress by Ben De Lisi  – who I met for the first time the day this photo was taken and he was just gorgeous – definitely one to keep your eye on ladies! We did a fabulous Facebook Live which I’m sure you can find if you scroll through the page – he was just delightful!

And finally, (apologies for starting a sentence/paragraph with “and”- it just seems fitting!) poor Sherbert has had an operation this week to remove a lump on his side. He’s been so very brave! We had to keep him inside for 7 – 10 days, and this morning we found him outside the front door waiting to come in, as is their usual pattern. The acrobat that he is, must have leapt out of one of the bedroom windows overnight – loon! I’m glad to say he’s hanging on in there though, we took him to the vet for a check-up today and all is well despite his want to lick his stitches… scar? … it’s glue I think these days isn’t it?!

That’s it from me, they say a heatwave is en route -good luck everyone, enjoy and don’t forget your Ultrasun – I’m LOVING the  SPF 30 with Tan Activator this year I’ve got an amazing tan and have barely been outside! Happy days! … and drum roll please, June is traditionally Beauty Month on QVC and this year, for the entire month of June, every single beauty product is going to have £1.95 P&P, which is absolutely brilliant! Not only that, we’ve got an amazing Today’s Special Value from Ultrasun featuring Supersizes, so it’s the PERFECT opportunity to stock up!!

Take care and catch up with you on social media, here are my TwitterInstagram and Facebook links, or on air soon…

Much love as always

Pipa x

    Hi pipa,
Poor kitty! How is he this week? I hope the lump isn’t sinister.
Lucky you is all I can say about the tan! I think really for the tan activator to work well you have to be naturally inclined to tan. I know you, jilly, Julia, Ali etc all do anyway. You’re a lucky SE lot getting some heat and sun as usual! Enjoy lol x

Hi Susan, well he was doing fine until he came in a few days ago having ripped all his stitches out and the entire area was red raw! Back to the vet we went and now he’s got to wear the lampshade all day and night, and stay in – he’s NOT happy!!! Poor lad, it is healing so much faster though thankfully!
