Winter Glamour and Warming Beers

It’ll be time to get your glamour on this Wednesday 2nd December with me at 7pm on QVC, as I’ll be bringing you a fabulous hour of coats from the GlamMeister of New York himself, Dennis Basso.

There’s something so irresistible about his coats. Even when the weather is wet, windy and horrible and you can’t avoid going outside, then as long as you’ve got one of his coats to hand, you can step out in style. I dug out this picture of a show Dennis and I did a while back. The smiles on our faces just show how much fun we have when Dennis comes over from New York. It’ll be a real pleasure to show you what we’ve got lined up. And –  between you and me  – I can reveal we’ve got some very chic accessories to go with your coats  in my 7pm hour too.

Do you treat yourself to a new Dennis Basso coat every year? Is this the year you throw out an old coat and try something new? Or are you looking for a unique Christmas prezzie for a special lady in your life? There’s always a great choice of colour and styles in his range, and the combination of the affordability and that decadent feel of faux fur which the Dennis Basso range offers is a heady mix. Make a date with me this Wednesday night.

Austen, our screenwriter pal, Bobby and I visited a local beer festival last Friday. The Dudley Winter Ales festival is an annual special packed with lots of stronger, and very warming winter beers. With those stronger beers, CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) is always promoting responsible drinking, with only 3 and 1/3 pints allowed to be ordered at a time.  We enjoyed some spectacular brews; a few favourites as well as new ones: Sarah Hughes’ Christmas Special, Snowflake, Churchill Brewery’s RIP, Fixed Wheel’s No Brakes IPA and also Salopian Brewery’s Automaton were all downed on the night. It was also awesome to bump into my two pals, brothers James and Tom Fownes who own a fabulous microbrewery in Dudley called Fownes Brewing Co. They produce some gorgeous tasty beers, so if ever you’re in the West Midlands, you should get over to the Jolly Crispin pub to taste them. Or keep an eye out at a CAMRA beer festival. In fact, a couple of years ago the lads invited me to host a Ladies Only Food and Beer Matching Party for them at the Jolly Crispin. It was a full house of about 30 ladies, and it went down a storm. Check out the pics here.

Stay in touch, I do love hearing from you live on air as well as when you don’t see me, feel free to Tweet me (@TVMarv) and Facebook ( or Instagram me anytime!
