Jason Vale is known as the Juicemaster and is a regular fixture for many celebrities to get more health-giving nutrients inside them.Guess what? He’s on QVC this weekend! He’ll be bringing his top-rated masticating, slow juicer on the 27th, therefore I have been researching it. I find my body is demanding his vegetable juice recipes, seriously, like craving them! And I am carefully analysing what it is about the recipe that is working for my body, because as you know, ‘listen to your body’ is a mantra for me.
My suspicion is that there is something in the vibrational energy of the cell water that is freshly extracted from plants, and in 20 years’ time we may know all about it but right now we don’t and can’t say. However, I am very wary of too much fruit juice, so I always cut back on the sweetness if I find the recipes are too laden with squeezed fruit, as you know what I think about drinking fruit juice. Vegetable juice however, is a different matter it seems. I was wary about the waste, and that is still a concern, but this is not a permanent replacement strategy, it’s an add-on, it’s an extra, it’s a way for giving your body and your family a boost or a short-term strategy for having a good clean out!
There are lots of different recipes included in his book and so far the beetroot, parsnip, lemon, carrot with a little apple is my favourite.
Jason offers many different options for using it, including just breakfast replacement, a 5:2 version, and mixing up the plan with smoothies and soups. I did try as an experiment, seeing if it worked blending it all instead and making smoothies – Charlie Brook would have been proud of me! But with the recipe above, my body just… Did… Not… Want it! Much preferred the juices. Yummm.
In my opinion, there is nothing that beats macrobiotics for a long-term strategy and for healthy eating, as you’ll know from my previous blogs. But making it realistic for everyday life is what matters to most of us. We know what we should do, don’t we girls? It’s doing it that is the problem, and sticking to it that is the next problem, and not beating yourself up about it if you stray, that’s the ultimate problem! That’s why TTFLS and Freedom Eating works for me. More here about that. Regulars know what I think about drinking tons of fruit juice and that hasn’t changed. But even Jason doesn’t advocate that, instead recommending a nutritious combination of avocado, veggies, ginger, kale etc more often than fruit. It’s a very interesting experience so far.
Meanwhile, if anyone has ever tried it, I would love your feedback, it doesn’t have to be the same as mine. Honest feedback from people who have actually tried it is much appreciated. Let me know by email firstname.lastname@example.org in time for the weekend!
Jason’s following is legendary now, with over 150,000 people following his Facebook page. This Retro juicer is award-winning too – Daily Mail give it 10/10.
No chopping, No peeling, No hassle, No waste – The Retro Cold Press Juicer will not only take all of your produce with ease, but because it is a masticating juicer (please be careful how you pronounce that!) it handles leafy greens like spinach and wheatgrass beautifully. It also extracts the juice at just 65rpm, creating very little heat friction. This not only produces the finest quality juice, but leaves you with much drier pulp and more juice than you’d ever get with a ‘fast’ juicer; giving you more bang for you buck! It’s actually amazing how dry the pulp is. And a tip from me – use a couple of ice cubes at the end to help push any fibrous material out of the little chute – then use really hot water to rinse it all before draining it and putting aside to dry before reassembling. I haven’t put mine away since I first got it – and for me, that’s saying a lot!
Jason’s ‘juice-tube’ channel on YouTube regularly adds fun videos – like this one with client and friend Alisha Dixon – for a sample of what to expect this weekend watch this –
Others hitting the news include Katie Price, Gemma Collins, McBusted and Emma Willis and I think he even mentioned Ant and Dec among the people he’s helped change their nutrition in the past. Plus there are so many amazing results in Jason’s fab book that will come with the juicer.
Do watch the ‘Super Juice Me’ video on YouTube in advance of Sunday’s Today’s Special Value launch, or it’ll be on the DVD in the pack.
I’ve been impressed with it all so far, especially the improved well-being stories. So give it a go.
