Win a Jason Vale Retro Juicer!

Jason Vale is known as the Juicemaster and is a regular fixture for many celebrities to get more health-giving nutrients inside them.Guess what? He’s on QVC this weekend! He’ll be bringing his top-rated masticating, slow juicer on the 27th, therefore I have been researching it. I find my body is demanding his vegetable juice recipes, seriously, like craving them! And I am carefully analysing what it is about the recipe that is working for my body, because as you know, ‘listen to your body’ is a mantra for me.

My suspicion is that there is something in the vibrational energy of the cell water that is freshly extracted from plants, and in 20 years’ time we may know all about it but right now we don’t and can’t say. However, I am very wary of too much fruit juice, so I always cut back on the sweetness if I find the recipes are too laden with squeezed fruit, as you know what I think about drinking fruit juice. Vegetable juice however, is a different matter it seems. I was wary about the waste, and that is still a concern, but this is not a permanent replacement strategy, it’s an add-on, it’s an extra, it’s a way for giving your body and your family a boost or a short-term strategy for having a good clean out!

There are lots of different recipes included in his book and so far the beetroot, parsnip, lemon, carrot with a little apple is my favourite.

Jason offers many different options for using it, including just breakfast replacement, a 5:2 version, and mixing up the plan with smoothies and soups. I did try as an experiment, seeing if it worked blending it all instead and making smoothies – Charlie Brook would have been proud of me! But with the recipe above, my body just… Did… Not… Want it! Much preferred the juices. Yummm.

In my opinion, there is nothing that beats macrobiotics for a long-term strategy and for healthy eating, as you’ll know from my previous blogs. But making it realistic for everyday life is what matters to most of us. We know what we should do, don’t we girls? It’s doing it that is the problem, and sticking to it that is the next problem, and not beating yourself up about it if you stray, that’s the ultimate problem! That’s why TTFLS and Freedom Eating works for me. More here about that. Regulars know what I think about drinking tons of fruit juice and that hasn’t changed. But even Jason doesn’t advocate that, instead recommending a nutritious combination of avocado, veggies, ginger, kale etc more often than fruit. It’s a very interesting experience so far.

Meanwhile, if anyone has ever tried it, I would love your feedback, it doesn’t have to be the same as mine. Honest feedback from people who have actually tried it is much appreciated. Let me know by email in time for the weekend!

Jason’s following is legendary now, with over 150,000 people following his Facebook page. This Retro juicer is award-winning too –  Daily Mail give it 10/10.

No chopping, No peeling, No hassle, No waste – The Retro Cold Press Juicer will not only take all of your produce with ease, but because it is a masticating juicer (please be careful how you pronounce that!) it handles leafy greens like spinach and wheatgrass beautifully. It also extracts the juice at just 65rpm, creating very little heat friction. This not only produces the finest quality juice, but leaves you with much drier pulp and more juice than you’d ever get with a ‘fast’ juicer; giving you more bang for you buck! It’s actually amazing how dry the pulp is. And a tip from me – use a couple of ice cubes at the end to help push any fibrous material out of the little chute – then use really hot water to rinse it all before draining it and putting aside to dry before reassembling. I haven’t put mine away since I first got it – and for me, that’s saying a lot!

Jason’s ‘juice-tube’ channel on YouTube regularly adds fun videos – like this one with client and friend Alisha Dixon – for a sample of what to expect this weekend watch this –

Others hitting the news include Katie Price, Gemma Collins, McBusted and Emma Willis and I think he even mentioned Ant and Dec among the people he’s helped change their nutrition in the past. Plus there are so many amazing results in Jason’s fab book that will come with the juicer.

Do watch the ‘Super Juice Me’ video on YouTube in advance of Sunday’s Today’s Special Value launch, or it’ll be on the DVD in the pack.

I’ve been impressed with it all so far, especially the improved well-being stories. So give it a go.

I would love to win the blue Retro Cold Press juicer as I’ve watched a lot of Jason’s demonstrations and am intrigued by the concept of juicing and it’s benefits.
I don’t have a favourite recipe as I haven’t had the opportunity to try any.
So to win this competition would give me the opportunity to try juicing and let you know after, which recipe is my favourite.
    Fingers crossed XXXXX

Hi Please could you enter me into the competition to win the retro juicer.

Many years ago I caught a presentation by Jason V on an alternative shopping channel and this prompted me to buy the ‘phillips’ juicer that he was endorsing at the time. I really really enjoy the juices that I attempt though sadly don’t seem to be able to get round to juicing daily. I normally pull out the old juicer when I’m feeling a bit below par and this can be anything from mentally to physically and it always seems to perk me up a bit and a few days on the trot and you feel really good.
My favourite juice is Apple, carrot, ginger and lemon with the addition of some spinach and spirulina. If I have any odd bits of fruit lying around like blueberries or strawberries I may bung that in too and I alter the amounts of ginger depending on how much of a ‘kick’ I want.
I’m a great believer in what Jason says re nutrition and have several of his books. He is a joyful, infectious person who comes across as very genuine and keen to help people, not just make a quick buck so to speak. Infact I can provide evidence of this when a little while back I started having severe pre menopausal symptoms and just didn’t know which way to turn, the docs just sent me on my way, some well known herbal/natural remedies weren’t working so at my wits end I emailed an address given in one of Jason’s books asking for any recommendations and lo and behold someone took the time to answer me. To me that really says something in this day and age.
Good luck Debbie, from what I can see you’ll both hit it off.

I did the 28 day Super Juice plan last year and lost 2 stone and I really believe in the benefits of juicing. I find it lifts my mood, clears my skin and makes me feel really great. My favourite juice is carrot, apple, pineaple, lemon and ginger. I’d love to win the retro juicer because my current juicer really struggles with things like kale and I really want to include it in my juices!

Much like Debbie comments in her article- I too am wary of the amount of sugar that juices would enable you to too quickly/readily consume so I tend to stay away from juices with too much fruit content and instead favour vegetables. I like the sound of the 28 day plan, and also the recipes provided (surely, even I can manage to get them right!). Thanks for all your posts on nutrition – I would say that I eat reasonably healthily but could do more. You are inspiring me to make a difference in my lifestyle.

I think that juicing is an excellent way to get the goodness of fruit and vegetables (especially the veg) into reluctant eaters. I prefer to eat the whole fruit or veg myself, but I would love the chance to own a juicer so that I can get some goodness into my family without them feeling I’m torturing them by making them eat it – this includes my Mum and husband as well as the kids!

My favourite juices I would imagine to be quite zesty and fresh, I’m imagining carrots, apples, ginger and lemon, not necessarily all together.

I’ve only ever attempted ‘juicing’ once with my hand held multi tasker (blender/whisk/chopper) and to say it ended badly is an understatement!

It was suppose to be a ‘green’ juice. Flavour wise it was spot on … but …. unfortunately my ‘gadget’ wasn’t man enough or even appropriate for the job, (so much for optimism!) and as you can imagine it had the consistency of a swap bog… looked like one too! Needless to say the sewer system had the pleasure of digesting that one!

I did look into buy a ‘propper’ juicer but there are so many to choose from I got completely confused and gave up!

Sadly I don’t own a juicer of my own, I say this as I have always been curious about juicing but I have not felt ready to take the plunge enough to invest in a juicer, but when I was under the weather with a cold a few weeks ago I was offered, and tried , a juice of Lemon, carrot, and ginger (my dad swears by ginger) and it was surprisingly delicious, it also seemed to warm me through and it helped my cold! My cold in fact was gone the next day! – was this just fluke or was this down to the goodness of the juice? Since I have been wanting to delve into the juicing world and experiment with my own recipes but have not had the funds to buy a juicer, after all, if I’m going to get one I want to get a good one don’t I? So I’m entering this competition in the small hope that I may stand a chance of winning. I would be delighted and the blue would go great with my kitchen. I am also loving the Union Jack design, great for retro kitchens!! Fingers crossed xxx

Then about a year ago I read about Jason Vale and bought one of his books and tried his recipes. Then I bought his apps and have done 3 day detox a few times. I also have soup n juice and 5:2 juice diet apps and dabble in all of them. Recipes excellent and videos inspiring. Love breakfast juice -Super Detox Smoothie. I always use a base of carrot and apple and depending on the season or how I feel I will add to that. Sometimes I add beetroot or celery or both, cucumber is a great addition. The whole point of having a juicer is you can tailor the drink to your own requirements. If you feel under the weather and need an energiser then add ginger. Although fruit is great I tend to balance it with veg as I am diabetic. Again the joy of having a juicer is you control what goes into the juice and reap the benefits.

Many years ago I bought a Jack Lalanne juicer from QVC and I loved it. The only trouble was I had to replace various parts several times as, being left handed, I kept breaking off the little lug that enabled the juicer to be switched on and off. In the end I gave up. I really missed my juicer though! I’d love to have another go – I can think of very little more enjoyable than a clean, fresh carrot, ginger and spinach juice to wake me up and start my day!

I absolutely love the fact that juicing is so liberating! People CURE themselves of common and uncommon illness; people get motivated to work out again; people who didnt believe BELIEVE after experiencing juicing; and you feel boundless energy and a beautiful glow during and after juicing. Its the magic potion we all need in our lives!! More importantly its not just physically beneficial, the experience of self healing and cleansing is hugely spiritual and emotional too – leading to enlightenment in perhaps the smallest way, but slowly surely we are all waking up to it! #happydays :0)

I’ve never tried juicing as it seemed too much of a faff having to peel and slice fruit and veg to get very little out the other end. However these new juicers look amazing and so much more advanced than the old ones that I’m really tempted to give juicing a go. So please consider me and I’d be able to write a great review about my first proper juicing experience.

I purchased my first Jack La Lanne juicer off QVC many years ago – it served me well for a good few months before retiring to the back of the cupboard. I then rediscovered by juicing bug almost 2 years ago after buying JV Funky juicemaster book. I replaced my JackLaLanne juicer with what I thought would be a better juicer., but I was juicing for 4 every day & my new juicer kept blowing up! I had it replaced 3 times before eventually changing to a slow juicer which I much prefer! My husband has had to move abroad to find work after being made redundant & I would love to take a juicer out to him, so he can look after himself better whilst he’s out there on his own.

I have been juicing for 18 months since seeing Jason on a TV programme. My blood pressure has been high and controlled by medication for 30 years but since juicing every day I have been able to come off the medication and my blood pressure is controlled naturally. I have Jason Vale and Liz Earle’s books about juicing and it is fascinating to read about the benefits of fruits and vegetables. I try to have both a juice and a smoothie every day with a high proportion of vegetable to fruit. My favourite juice is anything with beetroot although I also love a ginger shot every day. I have a retro juicer myself and having seen the health benefits I would love to win a retro juicer for my mother who has been living with lymphoma for several years, currently in remission, as I believe that this would really help her to maintain her good health and energy levels. One huge advantage of this juicer is that it is so quiet and you can make juice first thing in the morning without waking up the whole house!

Until my juicer broke, I used to have one every morning before work.
I found experimenting with different flavours a lot of fun and some of the results were amazing, although you can’t beat more traditional ingredients like Strawberries, Blueberries and Coconut Milk.
A great way to set your body up for the day and ensures you get a lot of your essential vitamins and minerals.

I’d really love to win this so I could maximise my juicing and the benefits that I’ve already found from juicing only occasionally.

I have in the past 18 months lost 12st through healthy eating and some excerise I am limited with excerise as I was attacked by a pupil in the school I worked in as a school nurse which left me with a back injury 4 years ago. But thanks to healthy eating my life is much much better and this is down to juicing. I juice “everything “!! But my favourite is banana, peach and cherry. It’s health benefits are amazing, full of vitamins and great for your bones.

I find a lot of shop bought juices too harsh a flavour. Take orange for instance – it’s either super sweet (Spanish oranges) or super sharp (Florida oranges). I like it, don’t get me wrong, but I can only drink a little.

Juicing at home allows you to combine flavours to find a taste that is right for you. For example, I’ve cured my orange woes by juicing oranges with mandarins. The mandarins neutralise the harsher flavour of the oranges to give a more rounded flavour and I can drink it by the jug full.

Sarah has been borrowing my old trusty juicer recently. She’s more adventurous than me – using it as a good way to get extra vegetables into her diet by combining them in juice. I tend to stick to the fruits.

New figures this week showed that only 14 per cent of children in Scotland are currently eating their “five-a-day” of fruit and vegetables. It’s hard to get kids to embrace a pile of veggies on their plate – but they do love juice. Juicing is a great way to get some extra nutrients into their diet.

It’s hard to argue against he fact that everyone could benefit from a juicer and I could certainly do with a shiny new one!

Well what can I say….. I am certainty intrigued by Jason Vale.

There is a buzz in the air which is amazing, everyone seems to be juicing at present not only to keep in shape and try and lose weight and maintain a weight loss but also ensure our bodies receive all the nutrients we need.

The buzz is amazing, not only with the celebrity endorsements but also the public are jumping on the wagon too – its truly amazing. Many people especially the young do not like to eat laborious greens with a meal but when you make yum yum juice/smoothie the kids just cant get enough its a real staple machine we all need to own we also need to ensure our bodies are fit to take on anything we encounter namely illness – juices hide lots of good stuff which will help our immune system work correctly.

I am personally and certainly blown away with all the positive comments Jason has received and all the endorsements I read about daily in the celeb mags.

I think everyone should own a juicer including myself as it costs a blinking fortune to buy from shops. Reluctantly I have just paid 2.95 for 200ml in the shop as I love to juice. What I also like about juicing is you can actually put anything in whatsoever and never know its there which on reflection is more ammunition for mums with children!

My favourite juice is anything to do with fruit I love all the dark berries and add a little cinnamon and honey which is divine. I also like Kale and ginger too!

I sincerely hope I am the lucky winner but if I am not then I will certainly have to think about investing in one if Jason’s machines I know it will save me and absolute fortune in the long run – WELL DONE JASON and QVC for bringing us there new innovations.

Good Luck everyone who enters…… Mwah….. love Tracey xxx 🙂

Much of what I juice comes from the allotment so there is always plenty of variety.
My favourite blend is carrot, beetroot, orange, Apple and ginger. I also juice and freeze tomato to have at breakfast time when I get fed up of making home grown tomato soup and pasta sauce.
