We've already been behind the scenes with Liz Earle, taken a look at an exclusive collection from bareMinerals AND Laura Geller has answered your questions live online!
More recently it was the turn of make-up artist – and all round lovely lady – Jemma Kidd! Jemma kindly took to the keyboard here at the new QVC Towers and answered your questions on our Facebook and Twitter pages, here are some of them…
Debbie Viggiano (Facebook): I'm a lady of 'a certain age'!! What do you recommend to give the upper lip good definition throughout the day so that lipstick doesn't 'bleed' into fine lines and end up looking messy? x
Jemma Kidd: Hi Debbie, I'd say use a wax based lip liner in a natural tone. The wax will seal into the fine lines and will help to stop bleeding. My Lip Perfector has a transparent, plumping lip liner at one end and a moisturising lip primer at the other, which helps to smooth out fine lines for the day. xJ
Samantha Walsh (Facebook): Hi Jemma! Foundation is an essential part of my daily make-up routine but within an hour my face always looks shiny and greasy. I have tried lots of different products but nothing works. Do you have a product that would help combat the shine? Thank you, Sam x
Jemma Kidd: Hi Sam, first of all I would use a silicone primer to help absorb the oils and to help create a perfect base for your foundation. I'd recommend my Light as Air Foundation as it has silicone beads which absorb oils and help to make the foundation last all day, it also has a semi matte finish. xJ
Shanti Rajan Dear Jemma (Facebook): Can you guide me on what eye make up an older lady can use? Im finding eyeliners are begining to look unflattering. I would like to softly enhance my eyes without looking Gothic! What colour eyeshadows can I use? Many thanks in advance.
Jemma Kidd: Hi Shanti, I'd say you can still use eye liners but go for a softer colour like browns, those shades are a lot more forgiving on a maturer eye – try my Stay Put Liners. Again with eye shadows stay away from blacks, go with earthier tones. I have a stunning creme eye shadow which dries and sets, it will last all day and it's called the Firming I-Silk Set. xJ
Jemma Kidd: Hi Rhiannon Rees, try my Colour Corrector in citrus, the yellow in it counteracts blue and purple tones, so perfect for under the eyes, and then use a light concealer to finish, beware you'll get addicted to this product as it also counteracts redness too. xJ
Amanda Hughes (Facebook): Hi Jemma, I was 50 this year, could you give me one tip please? My skin tone is fair, but looks dull, I would really like a more radiant look. Thank you so much. Love watching your shows!
Jemma Kidd: Hi Amanda, if you need to add luminosity to your skin, try my Bio Complex Veil. Also use apricot toned blushers and concealers to help brighten the skin. xJ
Jemma Kidd: Hi Susan, it's best to stick to goldy browns as they help to 'pop' blue eyes, ochre and taupes are also good contrast colours. Stick to soft pearl and dark brown earthy eye liners. A gorgeous kit to go for would be the Bio-Minerals Kit in Chocolate – super stunning. xJ
Susan Booth (Facebook): Hi Jemma, I have very puffy eyes, also my lids and under eye area are very sensitive because of a condition I have. Do you have any tips for giving the appearence of less puffy eyes? I always feel very concious of them. Thank you Jemma! Love Sue xxxx
Jemma Kidd: Hi Susan, puffiness is a tricky situation, I created a product which helps puffy eyes, it's an eye treatment with caffeine and a brightening concealer on the other end – it's called Wrinkle Rescue & Brightner and I'd go for the medium xJ
Jemma Kidd: I'd use a waxed based lip balm before to hold in moisture or try my Gloss Sticks for added hydration.
@BeautyPopC (Twitter): My question is, if you could ONLY reapply one thing during the day, what would it be? 🙂
Jemma Kidd: Personally it would have to be a product for the lips, after eating, drinking etc.
Jemma Kidd: My Artist Pro Palette has a matte contour in the cheek section that's perfect for defining cheek bones.
@nikkidooz (Twitter): I am doing my friends makeup for her wedding, she is a pale redhead & needs a good lasting foundation, can you help?
Jemma Kidd: Use a good primer to hold the foundation and try my pointed foundation brush as it pushes foundation into the skin.
Jemma Kidd: Red tones make green eyes pop, purples, plums, red golds. My I-ris Enhancer Palette for green eyes is perfect!
