I hope all’s well, as always…
I trust that you enjoyed a good break and celebrated the arrival of the New Year with friends and/or family.
As one gets older it appears that no sooner has the last tipsy rendition of Auld Lang Syne drifted into the ether – we suddenly find it’s already mid-January with February fast approaching!
Whilst most of us look at Christmas as this “end of year celebratory wall” over which we have trouble seeing, the buyers at The Q have to climb up on their Hailo 4-Step Lightweight Ladder with Safety Rail and look over the wall into the exciting New Year ahead.
Although we at QVC are well-known for reacting quickly to new ideas, latest gadgets and fashions; we also have to plan ahead and make sure our giant warehouse in Knowsley is always well-stocked.
I recently presented an hour of Kuhn Rikon and I was really impressed with the Silicone Cleaning Brushes. I know they’re not the sexiest item ever to feature in my blog but I was so impressed with how they released the dirt when cleaned, ready for use the next time – I had to order them for myself!! If you have a spare minute or so why not follow the link above and watch the video presentation to see what I mean!
At this time of year our much-loved garden birds need a helping hand to get through the colder months and ready themselves to start the breeding season in good health. This month our garden Product of the Month is Richard Jacksons Premium High Energy Bird Food and it’s the only bird food I have used for the past two years. It’s offered with no P&P and there’s an Auto Delivery option available, so you’ll be able to stay stocked up throughout the year.
I shot some video footage in my garden a couple of years ago almost to the day and was I amazed to see the various bird species that found the food so quickly. In the spring and summer the numbers and varieties of birds will increase as overseas visitors join our hardy British birds.

This is a good time to mention that I’m presenting The Wildlife Friendly Garden this coming Saturday the 19th for two hours, starting at 12 noon. Richard’s Bird Food will of course be featuring, as well as a special appearance by much-loved and admired British naturalist, photographer and wildlife presenter – Simon King OBE! I’ve been a huge fan of Simon’s work for as long as I can remember and it’s a thrill to welcome him back to QVC – I hope you’ll be able to tune in and join us!
As you know I have varied interests as well as wildlife photography and videography, I love my hi-tech toys. We have a great Today’s Special Value coming up this Sunday the 20th. It’s from giant electrical experts Samsung and it arrives in the shape of a 55-inch Ultra High Definition HDR Smart TV – and of course we have it on offer at a fabulous price and in interest-free instalments.
This stunning UHD Smart TV is great for bringing your favourite sports, movies, soaps and so much more to life. It has amazing picture-quality, which really enhances your TV enjoyment, and there are some incredibly complex technologies working at blistering speeds within the sleek design. But the good news is that Samsung’s Smart TV’s couldn’t be easier to operate. I should know as I have had Samsung TV’s at home for many years.
You may be thinking that a 55″ screen is way too big – I get that, as that’s what both my wife Tracey and I said when we unveiled our 55-inch TV the year before last – but within a few minutes we couldn’t believe how small our previous TV looked and how much we loved our new model!
As I often say, it’s virtually risk-free shopping with us here at QVC, particularly for larger items – so you really can give it a try at home and see how much you’ll love it. As well as stunning picture quality there’s also great sound and great Smart features with this TSV, such as Catch-up TV and streaming with the Smart Hub.
Don’t worry if you’ve not got access to Ultra High Definition content at present either, this TV will cleverly upscale your content making it look just as good as it can. You may have heard of High Dynamic Range (HDR), well this beauty has HDR 10+, making sure every scene is precisely optimised for colour, contrast and the finer details!
I hope you can join myself and our hi-tech guru Lee Hohbein at 11am this Sunday!
Well that’s all from me… so until next time… stay well fed and entertained!
