Wildlife, recipes, and relaxation!

Tennis ballHello!

Another week has raced by!

Well done to those who correctly guessed last week's mystery picture. A tennis ball 🙂 – another at the end of this weeks blog.

Hasn't the weather been astonishing? Well, here in London anyway. I've missed being by the coast where the edge is taken off by the sea breeze. In light of the heat, I've been sure to head out early in the morning with my dogs to help avoid the soaring temperatures. Having said that, one morning it was 20 degrees at 7am!

If you follow my blogs and tweets, I'm @mecharliebrook by the way, you're probably aware of how much I love my wildlife and my camera is never too far away.

KiteI was lazing in the garden recently and snapped this picture of a red kite. Isn't she beautiful?

I watched her soar and glide for fifteen to twenty minutes before she disappeared from site. It's hard to put the size into perspective against the blue sky but the red kite has a wing span of upto six feet. Their light body weight means they'll happily glide and soar for hours on end. Not a bad life, is it?!

I've had another fun filled week at QVC and I thought I'd take this opportunity to chat about our wonderful guest Simon Brown.

Charlie and Simon BrownSimon is one of our long standing guests at QVC. In fact, Simon is more than a guest, he's a good friend to many of us and we consider ourselves really fortunate to have him with us at QVC.

Simon looks after our cook's essentials range – which is vast, wide, and varied with fabulous product for the kitchen. Everything from a spatula to a soup maker!

If you catch any of the shows you'll know that Simon and I have this unwritten agreement (legally bound!). Simon does the talking, while I do the eating! Seems fair?

Simon also has his very own website, it's a great visit and has lots of his wonderful recipes on there too, www.simonbrown.tv – including some delicious ideas for the cook's essentials soup maker as well. Enjoy!

I've got a few days off now and I'm going to relax! I feel as though my feet haven't touched the ground over the last few weeks so I plan on taking some wonderful walks with my cairns, eating out (to avoid washing up), and some early nights with technology firmly switched off. Apart from my Kindle, that is, which has the latest Jack Reacher on there.

I'm back on air this Monday 28th at 10pm with a fragrant filled hour of Yankee Candle followed by an hour of Kipling at 11pm. Hope to see you then 🙂

Guess the pictureHere's this weeks mystery picture!

Take care
