When Julia Came to Stay

It was a superb week, weather-wise, but fellow presenter Julia and I didn’t care – she was staying with me in Devon in order to write, write, write! I can’t believe she’s on her fifth book! Like me, she’s already published four, so she’s catching me up. But it’s always great to have a pal around to spur you on. Jules followed me down late Sunday night and we had some wonderful chats and lunches and al fresco meals in between frequent bouts of scribbling… well, metaphorical scribbling of course, it’s all on computer nowadays! Lol. I must admit Julia wrote far more than me – I always have my ‘musts’ when I’m down in Devon.

And bless her, she did help me do some watering – goodness the plants needed it though! A lovely week was had by all and I hope she comes back again soon.

This weekend on QVC:

Thursday – go here to see and buy today’s (5th) brilliant five piece Ultrasun Favourites collection – we all need this incredible once a day sun protection in this weather!

Friday – tomorrow it’s all about Omega 3 fish oils with a fab supplement bundle also including vitamin C sachets, by new brand Your Zooki – and even these come with a 30-day money back guarantee.

Saturday Lola Rose is back, this time with the semi-precious bracelet called ‘Joelle’ – together with an unbelievably low price – stock up for birthdays.

Finally on Sunday the massive Elemis deal as above – don’t miss it!

This week’s Big Deals

Here are this weekend’s Big Deals, our regular super-bargains that last for one week, but end Sunday at midnight, usually featured on our sister channels.

There’s a printed short-sleeve tunic top from Kim & Co., the Footlogix Callous Softener and Foot File plus a full HD dash cam deal from Nextbase.

See below for next week’s highlights.

SNIPPETS

Glenn Izzy and Me

You’ll often find me in a garden centre enjoying a cuppa – but last Sunday brother Glenn, with whom I stay when in London, and my little niece Izzy entertained us both in the car with her renditions of some of the Greatest Showman songs! Such talent! Lol.

Bouquet of the Week

Had the most amazing crop of sweet peas so here’s this week’s bouquet – Julia had some ready to welcome her into her room when she arrived at our place. She was touched as they were her late dad’s favourites. And the smell is fabulous. What’s your favourite flower?

Good Luck to Leigh from Tarte

Leigh from our super brand of cosmetics called Tarte, made her final appearance this week, she is off to pastures new to a big brand but not a shopping telly one. Her little five month old son will enjoy more of her company no doubt and we all wish her the very best! The range will continue however – lots available online on our website at great prices, as you can check out.

Facebook Vlog of the Week

Check out this post I did on my QVC Facebook page, with a stroll down a picturesque country lane in Devon – check out what I saw! Plus, which member of my family has been doing a send up of my vlogs!  (I post lots of updates on this page each week so do ‘like’ it!), where talk about…

‘Spot the Dog’

Haha! This week… ‘Wheeeeeere’s Gracie?!’ Can you spot her? Enlarge the pic to see where she’s hidden herself this week to shelter from the sun… Not that my beans appreciated it much! Lol.

Book of the Week:

It’s an unusual one this week, and it’s my choice because of a tweet that I received. ‘Reasons for Staying Alive’ by top author Matt Haig (‘How to Stop Time’) has been a key recommendation for many people in dire straits and suffering from depression. More info on my website blog about how this fascinating book has inspired so many people who are feeling down. Worth a read, or worth recommending to someone you know who needs it.

Watch

Since it’s the big football event at the moment, and Julia and I took time out to watch the game on Tuesday (on pain of death we had to watch it! Lol!) I thought I’d post this funny little clip from my days on TV years ago – search ‘Debbie flint introduces Children’s BBC’ – showing how if you collected a voucher from the Radio Times in the old days, you could receive a fab wall chart! Funny! And very vintage! 32 years’ worth of vintage to be precise!! Eeek! We all had to start somewhere! (Thanks to Stacey Olsen for alerting me to the link via Facebook!)

This week’s highlights on QVC

It’s my first ‘London Week’ having just had a Devon week (new pattern) so I’m on a bit more during the week. See above for this weekend’s highlights (ends Sun 8th) and these are the coming week’s sneaky peeks!

MondayPeony returns with a super orchid and fern in a lustre vase, including an auto delivery option. I’m on with Dyson at 7pm and Laura Geller cosmetics at 9pm.

Tuesday is all about sleep with Silentnight and a pure cotton, anti-allergen four pack of pillows and lots of other bedding options throughout the day. I’ll be in with Bareminerals at 9pm and the launch at midnight of…

Wednesday’s #TSV is from Sensica, the SensiLift Anti-Ageing Facial Treatment with gel and travel bag – lots of us need that for sure!

Thursday and ABC are back with a superb offer – the three-piece skin wash collection in tea tree and citrus! Whoohoo!

And at the end of the week watch out for the GTech offer.

Next week on the blog:

Seeing grandbaby, along with daughter all at the same time, and a trip to her new place in Wales. Daughter’s that is, not grandbaby’s!

Have a lovely week!

Best wishes

Debs

    Hi debbie,
I love your bistro table. Very pretty. No hosepipe ban in Devon then?! The plants are all suffering! As is the grass! Terrible to see the fires up north.
How the book is coming along. X
