Firstly, Happy New Year to you all. I like the start of a new year. It feels like opening up your new diary and having 365 blank pages to start filling in. I wonder what you will be writing this year and I’m not talking about books, although there are a couple of those on my agenda for 2019. I’ve actually spent some of my days off over Christmas and New Year working on edits for the first book in the series I’m writing for my publishers, Bookouture. I’ve only ever worked to self-imposed deadlines previously, which can be quite flexible, for want of a better word, but I have a firm deadline of January 7th to meet, so it has been a bit ‘nose to the grindstone’ at times! Nearly there, thankfully, which is just as well, as I only have tomorrow as a full editing day.
I’m on-air later today, no Fashion on Friday at 5pm on the main channel, but we do have a really good line-up for Fashion on Friday with Julia on the Style Channel at 6pm. On Sunday I’m on at 11am with Fiona Brackenberry for an hour of Decleor, featuring the Five Piece Renewal Day & Night Skincare Collection TSV.
There are two options, but both feature a 400ml Micellar Cleansing Water, Hydra Floral Everfresh Wide Open Eye Gel and the new Harmonie Calm Organic 2-in-1 Cream and Face Mask which you can either use in a thin layer over your daytime Aromessence or a thicker layer as a leave-on mask. You then choose between Rose D’Orient if you have sensitive skin or Neroli Amara if you have a normal skin type or if you’re unsure for the Aromessence Oil and the Night Balm. It’s already available on our website if you like to order early.
I’m also on-air at 1pm on Sunday with an hour of Aeropilates. I haven’t seen Marjolein Brugman in well over a year, so I am really looking forward to it.
I’m going to confess that I have been less disciplined than usual with both exercise and diet over the past month or so, as I’ve been busy with my writing and permitting myself to enjoy festive food and drink. One of my goals for the year is to get back into a regular habit of using my Aeropilates machine, particularly as I have an August wedding to prepare for!
If you’ve never tried it and are looking for a low impact way to do aerobic exercise combined with core-strengthening and flexibility, you should give it a go. That and swimming are my favourites!
I do prefer goals to resolutions and I rarely start on January 1st, as I always feel I’m setting myself up to fail, particularly if my resolutions have been diet-related. We have my daughter, Sophie’s, birthday on January 8th, so I usually wait until after we’ve celebrated that with chocolate birthday cake! Have you set yourselves any goals this year?
Before I go, you may have spotted the friendship bracelet I was wearing on-air yesterday. It’s real diamonds, is the TSV on Wednesday and is under £100 and comes in your choice of rose gold plate, yellow gold plate and rhodium plate on sterling silver. A nice way to spend any Christmas money you may have been given!
Have a fabulous weekend – good luck to all the teams in the 3rd round of the FA Cup (especially Crystal Palace, of course).
