Molton Brown bottles

What a coincidence

Many of you are getting very excited about the long-awaited return of Molton Brown to QVC on Monday 25th August at 10pm with Ali Young. I can include myself in that as I have continued to buy Recharge Black Pepper for my other half, even though we haven’t been selling it, because he loves it.

Imagine how funny it was when our daughter Sophie arrived home from work on Wednesday evening after a visit to cosmetics manufacturer (she is now working in recruitment for the beauty industry) with a couple of samples, one of which was Molton Brown! She had been visiting the facility where they make Molton Brown amongst other high end beauty brands. So the claim on the bottles, ‘Made in England’, I can absolutely verify. If you love to buy British, adore gorgeous aromas and like to save a bit of money, I would strongly recommend you watch on Monday night …. I know I will be.

Julia Roberts and Simon WilsonLast week I was talking about going to Simon Wilson’s birthday bash. He had organised for his family and some friends to have early dinner with him at 5pm before the party started. There are not many people I would have missed the opening game of the football season for, particularly as Palace were live on Sky Sports, but Simon is one of them.

Sophie and Daniel came over to Notting Hill with us and then watched the game at a pub down the road before joining us at Beach Blanket Babylon for the party afterwards. Unfortunately Palace conceded a goal in the last minute of the game but, considering we are currently manager-less, a 2 – 1 loss against Arsenal wasn’t a bad result. It didn’t dampen my spirits.

I thoroughly enjoyed the party, even having a little bop at one point, and no I wasn’t drunk as I was the designated driver. At least that meant I woke up the next morning without a thumping headache … I’m not sure the same can be said for Simon! Daniel stayed over at our house that night, which meant Wilfie stayed too. It was lovely to have a cuddle with Wilfie which I must confess I have been missing.

Milo looking innocent Hosepipe around cablesOn Sunday morning Chris couldn’t get our internet to work. On closer examination Milo had given a repeat performance of biting through my phone charger wire, this time with the internet cable. The temporary solution we have come up with is to encase the wires in a piece of old hose-pipe … not very attractive but it seems to be doing the job so far! Any ideas on how to stop Milo chewing cables would be much appreciated …. and he looks so innocent doesn’t he!?!

Silvia Mori top - 127158Today’s Fashion on Friday is Italian brand Silvia Mori. I have already had some nice comments about the top I was wearing for the Vionic TSV launch last night, which is from the range. Then at 7pm I have fashion jewellery brand RJ Graziano – some very bold and glam pieces. Lots to look forward to on QVC over this weekend and then it’s Christmas (in August) all day Monday. Enjoy your long weekend – hope the weather picks up a bit

Much love,

Julia xx

    Hi Julia,
I must say I don’t know what else you could do to stop Milo chewing through your cables. We did’nt have that problem with our cat. She used to claw at the wall paper though. I used to have to go around trying to touch-up the areas with tippex before my husband saw it! Luckily our paper was the type you paint over and was white. My father’s cats were terrors to. I remember he was so proud of papering the kitchen only to have it ruined by the cat’s clawing at it! They did it so many times he had to resort to putting up hardboard on the lower part of the wall where they kept going back to.
I’m so glad that Molton Brown is coming back. We were only talking about it recently as it seems so long ago that they were on.When we stayed at a hotel near Tower Bridge we were thrilled to find Molton Brown in the bathroom.
Well I’m trying to think what to cook for supper and looking forward to the extended weekend. Not long to go till the rugby’s back on.Where has this year gone to again??!!
Best wishes, Tina S. (S. Wales)

Yes I noticed that Molton Brown was coming back on QVC Black Pepper is my son in laws favourite. I have ordered direct from them when it was no longer on .
It sounds as if Sophie has a great job.
The party sounded great, and to have dinner beforehand must have been nice.
Yes you must miss Wilfie. And yes Milo does look a picture of innocence doesn’t he, little monkey, I don’t think I have come across a Cat before who chews through cables, I know of Dogs that have chewed just about everything.
Lovely fashion show, I loved what you were wearing, looked really smart and loved the colour and design.
Hope you did get letter if not will send again.
    Take care.
    Love Jean XX

    Hi Julia,
Delighted to hear you had a great time at Simon’s party. I know he’s a good friend of yours and he would have appreciated you missing out on the football for him! The photos are great and as you mentioned Dale being at the party, I’ve looked on his blog and the photo of his daughter with Simon is fab too. Glad you had a bop too – I am sure with your dancer’s training, you could have shown off a few moves to the other dancers!
Ooh dear, wish I could suggest something re Milo deciding to chew through wires – as you say he looks so innocent AND adorable, it’s almost as if he would say if you asked him, he’d say “not me”!
Good to hear that Molton Brown is coming back, it’s been a while and I think their products are ideal to give as gifts.
    You take care,
    Beth XXX

    Hello Jean
I read the letter … very amusing, and although I’m not quite that bad yet I certainly did associate with it!
Sophie is really enjoying her job …. although it is still in recruitment it is a subject she has much more interest in.
I hope you were quick off the mark if you wanted any Molton Brown …. I think the whole show had sold out within half an hour. I have a show on September 12th which I think is the next one.
Milo hasn’t chewed through anything else …. yet!
    Speak soon

    Hi Beth
Dale’s daughter is as lovely as she looks … For that matter so is his son. They are at a difficult age but they both seem really well adjusted. Sophie spent some time with her as most people were quite a bit older than her. I didn’t dance much just jiggled a bit to the music!
As for missing the football – apparently they played really well against Arsenal, sadly the same cannot be said about our first home match last weekend! At least we now have a manager!
Milo has been quite good this week with all electrical cables intact so far.

    Hi Pauline
Thanks for the tip about Vaseline – I’ll try it but Milo will probably like the taste!
It is Chris’s birthday this Saturday and I will pass on your birthday greetings.
Love to David … keep him away from the wires. My brother cut through a mains cable when he was three – he lived to tell the tale but the scissors he used were ruined!

    Hi Angie
Glad you enjoyed Early bird Christmas, it was a very busy day! The shirt I was wearing was a QVC fashion product, James Lakeland I think, but I have had it a while and don’t think it is still a stock item … sorry to disappoint.
Look out for Christmas in September

    Hi Tina
We don’t have a problem with Milo clawing as he has his claws clipped being a house cat. He is as good as gold but it took three of us to hold Wilfie while Sophie clipped his talons.
Hope you enjoyed the Molton Brown show and maybe treated yourself?
    Speak soon

    Hi Carole
Glad you managed to get the Molton Brown try me. Your memory serves you well our guest used to be Jill Goldsmith. I’m struggling to remember the name of the former Kipling guest (think it began with an ‘M’) but our former Decleor guest was Carolyn Taylor.
Butler & Wilson South Molton Street is fairly close to Hyde Park – get a tube from Marble Arch to Bond Street and it is a stone’s throw. Not sure if Simon will be in the country … I don’t think so.
    Enjoy your trip to London

    Hi Martin
I haven’t been told about any special 21st birthday celebrations on QVC. I guess we celebrated the 20th quite a lot so this one is a little more low key ( that wasn’t meant as a joke …. key to the door etc.)
Dan and Wilfie are doing well in their new home and Sophie is really enjoying her job.
Glad you enjoyed the Christmas shows

Hi Julia. Really nice to see Molton Brown back on QVC. Just wondering if you know whether there will be a MB xmas TSV this year? A long shot, I know, as the TSVs are organised months in advance.
