Weird or cool? Plus Kitchen revamp

On your bike

Continuing the ‘vintage’ theme that my life seems to want to have at the moment, I’m considering this lovely bike for my birthday next week. How lovely would this look outside when I have a vintage tea rooms at Retreats for You?! This week the weather down in Devon was sunny and brisk and it’d be lovely to be able to whizz down the hills with the wind in my hair on something like this, don’t you think? Love the basket on the front too…. I will keep you informed.

Kitchen Clear Out

I may well do something unusual like the dolls head plant pots in my new kitchen – once it’s done! Here’s the before – with me in the corner of the current kitchen – next week I’ll have the brand new one to come home to from my holiday in France – can’t wait – I just can’t wait. It’ll be amaaaazing!

Cute Puppy – Bear the Dog! What a gorgeous dog this one is! He’s my pal Fiona’s (the lady with the horses?) Well I popped round there this week, to say hi and have a catch-up and meet this playful little lad! He’ll be huge though, one day. He loves to do ‘doggy talking’ where it is part growl part woof, and his attempt to get attention! Do you know which breed he is?

Gabi Bradshaw See Gabrielle’s fabulous artwork in SE22 My amazingly talented friend Gabrielle is holding another display of her work – this time in SE22 – don’t miss it!

Clever or Freaky? What’s your most unusual plant pot? Saw this on social media this week and thought – eww!! But it’s one way to make use of old broken dolls I suppose! Leave me a comment below if you have a suggestion!

Old Fivers no Longer Legal Tender from 5th May – use them up as quickly as you can! Otherwise you can only exchange them at a bank or post office or building society. Or maybe respond to the medical detection dogs’ appeal and send them to the fab charity I support, where clever canines help humans detect disease. More here.

Book of the week, Liz Earle’s the Good Gut Guide- out this weekend, and already getting lots of media attention. This helps to not only explain why gut bacteria are so important but also how to eat right for your own gut. Part cookbook, part help guide, it is a wonderful life-changing book especially if you know nothing about this topic.  Liz is due to appear on QVC around 23rd – watch out for it!

Makes me happy because my own book ‘Till The Fat Lady Slims 3.0, tips and tales to inspire’, explains my version of this topic, and although it’s over a year old, lots of people still buy it because it is a companion book to my Till The Fat Lady Slims paperback and helps unpick the habits of a lifetime. Would work well alongside any traditional diet plan too – any. And alongside Liz’s book too.

Great that it’s becoming mainstream. I had a feeling it would and it’s happening! Tons online too – for instance this article helping to understand why your gut bacteria can mess with your weight. And this one explaining why gut bacteria help to influence food choices! Fascinating. If you have any recommendations for me to read on this subject, do leave me a comment below – or email

Facebook Funny – this week I had 36 private messages annoyingly, on Facebook, all of which were well-meaning but fake hoax warnings. So this was particularly pertinent!

Blooper  – From the Baremineral’s shows earlier this week. Check out their range!

Watch – Finest movie ever! Their Finest. OK so I know I talked about this previously but I really have to write about it now I’ve seen it. Their Finest is one of the best movies I have ever seen, ever! 9.75. out of ten – I don’t think I’ve ever given higher than that. It is just genius. Obviously I love the whole vintage thing, that carries a lot of weight with me. Obviously I love bill Nighy. He is superb as usual, and even in his pastiche role, he still made me cry in one scene. Take tissues, you will probably need them. Twists and turns and unpredictable false endings. And left me with a feeling of having been put through the wringer, but in a good way. Do go to see it, it is absolutely genius and literally one of the finest. Ever.

Also finally saw Going in Style too – good, very uplifting – liked it a lot! 8 out of ten – worth seeing! X

THE MIND IS WONDERFUL Over on my website www.debbieflint.comThe saying is so true, and very pertinent given the latest post on the topic of emotional bullies, which I have put on my website. (Do read the originals as well, links on the blog. Some tough reading and scary anecdotes. Thanks to all those who are reporting that it’s helping them to read it all – knowing they’re not alone.)

But this topic of the mind is so important – this week Anthony Robbins was back in London doing his unleash the power within seminars, something I went to 17 years ago and it helped to radically change my viewpoint. Everything is based around what you think about it, you only get treated how you love yourself to be treated, you are only affected by things that you allow to affect you. And generally speaking if you have a positive outlook, people get positive results, and I don’t mean in a namby-pamby way, I mean in a very down-to-earth practical make it happen type way. I believe that everything happens for a reason, and the things that happened to me in the last six months have led to a much better place. Read more about it here.

Lots of learning, along the way as well. And a real enlightenment as far as narcissistic psychopaths are concerned. I have loved finding out more and doing research, because I’m a geek like that. But I also am very very pleased that it is helping people. I have lost count of the number of people who have private message me and just said thank you for sharing information like this as it has made them feel not so alone. Anyway if you want to read up more on it to my website, and obviously there is a very big community online for a very wide range of videos you can also watch on YouTube. You need never feel alone again. Watch out soon for news of a wait a new Facebook group which will be secret, by invitation only, and for those people who have given me their stories.

And – on my latest newsletter on my website – the pinkest boo boo yet – oops! (Subscribe when the pop up comes up and you’ll be added to the email list!) For an interesting little video you might want to see… go here!

Latest 5* review for TTFLS 2017 book

“Reading TTFLS and doing freedom eating is great. Am so glad I did it. Have managed to lose weight and fit into dresses, tops and trousers a size smaller. I find that eating when hungry works for me. I now believe in myself and eat for me not anyone else, if you know what I mean. This way of eating has been an inspiration.”
