I’ve loved May, the wonderful weather and the feeling that this summer is likely to be a good one! Travel and experience is the name of the game for me in this, my 40th year, and I’m looking forward to visiting places I’ve never been to before whether they’re near or far. I recently discovered the beautiful Isle of Wight and completely fell in love with it. It felt like stepping back in time the moment I arrived. It’s unspoilt scenery, sweeping hillsides and wild beach coastline really found a place in my heart.
So you’ve heard of a staycation – basically staying in the UK for a vacation? Well we went on a ‘dogcation’ which is taking your dog on a vacation! You see Ted just loves the beach and so do I. So we packed some clothes and some dog treats and off we went! I’d heard lots about The Isle of Wight and really wanted some dog-friendly beaches with waves and some surf and the Isle of Wight has exactly that. I already felt like I knew so much about the island because it’s the home of Naturally Active skincare range, Liz Earle, but I did lots of extra research on where to stay and eat (all dog-friendly of course).
I can completely see the inspiration behind the Liz Earle range, I was blown away by the unspoilt beauty of the island, the natural coastlines and the endless fields of green. I couldn’t believe that such a beautiful place was within 2 hours of where I lived. There’s this amazing, wild sweeping bay in the south of the island that has a dog-friendly beach where Ted ran crazy on the sand. The weather was glorious and it felt like we were in the South of France.
The island has this wonderful clean and fresh feel to it, like it is unpolluted and pure, I felt a real affinity to nature there and really at home. We drive around the island to experience more of the varying landscapes it had to offer and spent time in Cowes, Yarmouth and Freshwater. There are some fabulous places to eat out too, that were dog-friendly – I was so impressed! On the subject of Liz Earle, check out all of their wonderful range here at QVC.
Here are my top 3 picks, that are great value too…
Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish duo – this has nearly 600 five star reviews and more industry awards than any other cleanser in the U.K.!
No.15 Botanical Essence Duo 50ml – this duo has nothing but 5 stars, and is amazing value at this price, featuring naturally derived ingredients and fragrances that are spicy, floral and fresh. It’s a sumptuous summer fragrance – trust me!
Eye Bright duo is a real summer must (pictured above right)! Those red, blotchy, itchy, irritable tired eyes will thank you when they are feeling all refreshed. This soothing little number loves to be in the fridge and really wakes up and de-puffs that eye area. Warning… this product comes with a real feel-good sensation!
Once those eyes are bright let’s have our nails to match girls!
