Beauty gifts are great for Valentine's Day and they can be a little bit creative – it doesn’t have to be overly expensive. For example you could choose the Elemis bath milk or bathing collection and add in a voucher for them to have a night off from the kids – once a week for two months.
If it's for someone that lives on their own maybe a beautiful fragrance that they can wear every day. Something exclusive perhaps from Tova or L’Artisan, which are difficult to find on the high street, with a voucher promising that you will cook dinner for them once a week.
For a little bit more extravagance, put in one of our skincare starter kits - perhaps from a brand that is also available in spas and hotels like Decleor or Elemis – and add in a voucher for a night away or a facial treatment.
You could always make up a lovely Valentine's Day hamper by mixing some Yankee Candles with some Thorntons chocolates and a bath and body beauty set – accidentally throw in a bottle of bubbly, always a guaranteed winner!
If all else fails, when you do forget you could always put an ‘I owe you voucher’ that they could use to buy something from QVC Beauty, and do an emergency run to the fish and chip shop – as chips and mushy peas with a pineapple fritter and a can of shandy would certainly win me over, being a northern lass.
Instead of a bunch of flowers, which at this time of year can be pricey, have a bouquet of essential oils with things like the AD Skin Synergy Nightime Treatment (rose, orange blossom, lavender and it comes in a lovely bag with a pink bow too).
If you’re planning a secret, go-glam night out, then buy one of our make-up kits, as a clue for them to get dressed up, with the invite enclosed for that club or theatre ticket. You could even give them a pack of haircare products with an appointment for a re-style if you know they’ve been groaning about their hair!
On Valentine's Day don’t just think of your girlfriend or partner, and don’t forget the guys either – they love beauty treatments too. So a man might like one of our body or facial oils and you can give them a voucher for a massage treatment at home once a week – never fails!
For me the perfect treat would just be to have chips, mushy peas and a pineapple fritter – with the chips all smothered in vinegar and kept in the paper. With shandy! Never fails!
