Halloween

Unleash your inner leopard

Happy Halloween to you all! I found the featured picture for this blog (above) from my modelling days. I remember we shot it in a wood in Scotland in the autumn. The photographer had dozens of pumpkins and a smoke machine! I felt like I was in a fairytale : )

This week I had my Mum to stay, which was so lovely. I hadn’t seen her since June so to spend time together was great. We are really close and share lots of similar interests including fashion, the outdoors, and chatting. I also discovered Petersham Gardens which is such a hidden treasure.

Flowers

My Mum suggested visiting as she had been before. It’s near Richmond and in fact you can take a lovely walk along the river from the garden and cafe. It’s so pretty and feels like being in the countryside even though is close to London. We both love flowers and plants and although I don’t have a garden my mum has a whole field where she and my stepdad live in France. It’s her full time hobby to keep it healthy. I found this beautiful old cart overflowing with plants and flowers and took this photo as inspiration for mine and Elliot’s next garden.

Along the way we took some more impromptu photos. Here is one of me casually hanging out by a tree (as you do) it was a sunny but chilly day so I wore this great Ruth Langford jumper, it was its debut outing. It’s so soft and I think it’s pretty cool. I also made my Mum pose for a few photos- unlike me she doesn’t like having her pic taken – no idea where I got it from : )

Now it’s got a bit nippy outside I’ve dusted of my favourite Helene Berman coat and ordered a fabulous new Centigrade faux fur number in charcoal. I love mixing a slightly more styled up look with a casual balance. For example, this jacket with a pair of distressed jeans and high tops. However if faux fur isn’t your thing take a look at this week’s Big Deal from Centigrade, it’s got a little faux fur trim and embraces a sleek padded look. Perfect for our UK winters, brrrrrrr!

I’ve added this photo to show how I like to mix and match my clothes from QVC and some of my other wardrobe. It’s also a snapshot of how you can mix your summer wear with autumn. I’m wearing some dungarees with a shirt from Live Unlimited, and my own jacket, but if you love your leopard print take a look at this one from Rino & Pelle. I LOVE this jacket! I’ve also got on my signature high top trainers, these are from Vionic. I love mixing up fashion and hair styles as many of you know. Fashion for me is all about fun and my Mum taught me that from when I was little. Both her and my aunty Jean, from whom I got my middle name, had clothing shops. So from a young age I’ve played in a giant dressing-up box!

Talking of dressing-up boxes, our Style channel is now live seven days a week from 3pm to 7pm so drop by, say hi on a tweet, and let us inspire you with new styles, silly chat and a warm hello every time.

For those who love a good deal, we have new Big Deals every week. For beauty it’s from Alpha-H this week, they’re bringing you a 3-piece balance and firm collection. For the fragrance lovers, we have a duo of Yankee Candle scent plugs with ten refills.

My final photo to share is this beautiful and calm dandelion clock that I photographed whilst out walking and talking with my mum.

Dandelion

See you during the week. I’ll be with you on Tuesday and looking forward to hearing from you.

Take care of yourselves.

Love,
Eilidh

Hi Darryl, thanks again. I took the dandelion pic whilst out walking with my mum. I must admit photography isn’t really a hobby but I do like taking photos from time to time. Hope you’re having a good weekend. Best Eilidh
