Hello again! Half way through February already and whilst I’m writing this it’s actually a glorious sunny spring day outside, but will it continue? I love a sunny winter day, when the air is crisp and fresh and we get a renewed sense of hope that anything is possible. It’s my brother Oliver’s birthday at the end of the month and he always says when that’s been and gone, so is the worst of the weather and we’re onwards and upwards into spring.
As we change through the seasons we change our fashion, so we should change our make-up too. Now if you read my previous blog on retinol products and took the advice, you’ll probably have fresh looking radiant skin by now, just in time for some new make-up.
I’ve been naughty and just had a very brisk, unplanned ski trip to Morzine, in fact it was just for the weekend and it was so good to be up in the mountains breathing in clean fresh mountain air. I love to travel so much and take any opportunity to do so, even though I always miss Ted (the dog). Because I like an impromptu break I always need a bag of multi-tasking beauty products to hand to throw in my hand luggage.
Some products are truly female because they’re great little multi-taskers, here are some of my favourite picks from QVC…
Hydral Floral Neroli CC Cream SPF50
I mean I think that says it all. Lightweight, exceptionally hydrating and high SPF protection all in one. Doesn’t matter whether it’s a sun or a winter holiday, this is a must. Also great if you have redness and imperfections to cover or discolouration to neutralise. Great to use if you have started using retinol because high protection SPF is recommended in conjunction with it. Also dries down perfectly as a make-up primer!
Elemis Pro Collagen Cleansing Balm
An award winner and one of my favourite cleansers of all time, not only a great cleanser, but the aroma instantly calms and relaxes, plus it doubles as a great flash mask for 5 minutes. Pop this one in the travel bag!
IT Cosmetics Celebration Foundation Illumination
Best-selling, award winning and infused with SPF50+ which is UVA/UVB filter broad spectrum sun screen (remember protect protect protect for anti-ageing). Great on sensitive skin, highly pigmented, lasts all day. This instantly airbrushes the skin and with it the look of fine lines and wrinkles. Helps diminish the look of open pores and even contains skincare ingredients such as peptides, collagen and antioxidants, plus you can apply it in seconds for a flawless finish.
This is available with a brush in a upcoming TSV on Saturday 23rd February. Just chose your shade. You also get Bye Bye Under Eye, Brow Power Universal Pencil and a Vitality Lip Flush. Look out for presentations on the day or call for help with shade choices.
Taya Hydrating Mist (This week’s Big Deal if you’re quick) and part of the Coco Water Hydrating Volume Collection
All about delivering volume and moisture to the hair but the mist is a handy size and beautiful for face, body and hair with the most gorgeous coconut aroma. Formulated with a blend of coconut oil, milk and coconut water to protect and hydrate the skin, it smells like holiday heaven and is an instant mood lifter!
Caudalie Divine Oil 100 ml
A multi-use dry oil which absorbs quickly into skin and can be used on your face as a night oil, and on hair or even cuticles. This wonderful little multi-tasker is also a bath oil when required leaving skin so soft we don’t need a body lotion and then as if that weren’t enough for achy limbs and tightness use this as a massage oil!
If you’ve got anymore tips for travel multi-taskers I’d love to know. In the meantime here’s another photo of Teddy!
