Hello there, I hope you’ve all been keeping well. It’s been a busy time in our house. With the school summer holidays looming you would think things would be slowing down, but it feels like the opposite! There’s a purple day to raise money, a blue day to raise money, the school fair, the school trips, their shows… it’s non-stop!
Also Izzy needs her tonsils and adenoids out, but trying to find a pediatric anesthetist working in the school holidays is proving challenging and we were really hoping to avoid her having to take time off school, especially as she’ll be starting a new year with new teachers and new expectations which she can find quite daunting.
It’s also Josh’s birthday any day now, so I’m trying to organise his party but getting responses to his invites is proving challenging. Most mornings go like this at school drop off. “Hi, are you so and so’s mum? Oh you are, great. Did you get Josh’s invite? Oh you did and you’re coming. Wonderful, thank you so much, look forward to seeing you.” My inner voice however is growling ‘why didn’t you just text me to say that then?’. ARGH!
Fellow parents, help a mother out! Party bags, food, seating etc… numbers are important information for these things! Just send the reply text. Please I beg you! LOL! First world problems! Anyway, it’ll all be fine I’m sure.
Every year it’s sunny on Josh’s birthday so we have the party in the garden. Last year there was a freakish storm though and we had to set up a little marquee thing that thankfully didn’t blow away! I’m hoping for sun this year, I don’t think my nerves could cope with another repeat. And Thor better be more punctual than Spiderman was last year or I’m gonna take that hammer and… well you get the gist 😉
Taking a bit of a diversion here, but speaking of gardens, I did a gardening show the other day on the Q and was introduced to this Wet N Gro wetting agent.
This is amazing at helping water penetrate the soil more thoroughly and evenly, so the water stays in the soil and therefore your plants stay hydrated for longer! I was blow away by this! If you’re rubbish at watering your plants or going away and worried about them in the warmer weather – get this! It’s a steal in price and 5ml added to 1.5 gallons of water is enough to do six hanging baskets. The best thing to do is hop over to our website and watch the demonstration – it’s magic quite frankly!
Anyway, that’s my home life, but what’s been happening at the Q? Well in this heat, we have some great cooling options for you for all budgets. We have a Big Deal coming up from Monday 15th July, it’s the Arctic Air from JML.
It’s very easy to use, you fill the tank with clean cold water and wait three minutes for the water to be absorbed into the filter, then set your fan speed and light colour (yes it has mood lighting! 7 colours in fact) and that’s it! You can enjoy cool, clean air for hours. They recommend for best coverage placing it on a raised surface like a table or desk or counter top within a few feet of where you want the cool air.
But not only does it give you a cool breeze. it also humidifies and purifies air from smoke and dust. You can use this all around the home, but I particularly like the idea of using this in a bedroom where the light can work as a night light, or perhaps taking this with you on a camper van or caravan holiday. This compact gizmo can run for up to 8 hours on a single fill on low fan mode! The filter needs changing every 6 months, but we hare giving you a replacement in the deal.
If you need something larger then we have the Hot & Cool Bladeless Tower Fan from Dyson. A different budget, but a very different product.
We have this in our house. In the winter we have it in our draughty front room, and right now we have it in our bedroom, which is in the loft, so roasty! It’s quiet enough to sleep with it on, and if you want to turn it off in the night I just use the remote, so you don’t even have to get out of bed, although you can set a timer on it if you’re super organised! It’s also blade-less so you don’t have to worry about pets or kids sticking their fingers or tails anywhere… obviously I mean the pets’ tails and the kids’ fingers, my kids are sometimes devils but I’m yet to find any tails! LOL!
If you have any kids birthday parties coming up and you’re looking for inspiration for gifts have a look at our website. We have Fitbits for kids if you want to get them interested in fitness. Or some Disney Time Teacher watches.
Or how about some brilliant onesies? I pop my kids in onesies after swimming, they’re great!
