And our massive annual family bash comes around once again! What a lovely time was had by one and all, with my mum, who has five children, getting together with her SIXTEEN grandchildren – all but one were there. And this year, there were no less than SEVEN great grandchildren too. Wow! Twenty eight descendants – what a gal! For the very first time, I got to hold both my adorable grandchildren together in my arms and made sure I got lots of snaps of all of my kids and grandkids and their partners too. Phoebe aged two months was awake for half the time and everyone was thrilled to meet her for the first time too – she is so quirky looking with her tufts of strawberry-blonde hair and her big blue eyes. She has her mummy’s mouth – my Lolly was so similar when she was a baby, but her daddy Nick’s eyes. She’s going to be one who watches I think, in years to come. Blakey is now 10 and a half months, and very mobile, crawling all over the place. She’s got blonde hair, big blue eyes, and her mummy’s mouth, but the most beautiful smile and giggle. She joined in playing with all of her cousins and second cousins once-removed (the other five great grandchildren). What will next year bring? Well there’ll be at least one new baby, with another niece expecting! Had a nice secret Santa pressie too – see below. And then I scooted off to work afterwards. Next year I’ll have the whole night off too, though, as Lolly will be down from Wales again and they all went off for dinner after! It’s another two and a half weeks and I’ll be seeing Lolly again. Then Brad’s back for our own little get together just after Christmas. It’ll be all go! For me, I’ve got a big week next week, then am working pretty much every day up until 23rd. I’ll enjoy my week off that’s for sure!
This weekend’s highlights

Also look out for the 9pm premier show launching tonight – celebrity Rylan’s home fragrance range Luxenoa arrives on QVC! Including premium candles this looks really interesting – go here to see the whole range meanwhile. So lovely to have this fun guy on our channel – apparently his mum loves QVC – bet she’ll be so proud!
Saturday – and an early bird order link for Gatineau – check out this great big bumper bundle from Andrew and Michaela and their new Perfection Ultime products to help give your skin a glow this Christmas, and what’s more, look out for the wonderful new Ultime jelly mask, which seems to boost the appearance of the skin before your eyes – it certainly made my skin look like I’d had a week’s good sleep when I went to the facial treatment recently (see recent blog.) So it’s worth a try, especially with our 30 day money back guarantee this yuletide. Go here to see it and buy it now.
Sunday – Amazon Fire 8 8th Generation 2018 tablet – Lee Hohbein my fab telly hubby returns with another chance to get a low cost deal for the tablet that brings you Alexa built in. Take her with you wherever you go!
Sunday midnight – Cozee Homes launches!
Plus, join me for the latest bedding, which launches as we tick over into Monday. The Today’s Special Value features TWO embossed design duvet sets, with some super soft and wonderfully warm fabrics to keep you cosy as toast this Christmas. When I put this duvet set on my bed at home in Devon I knew it would be amazingly comfy straight away, and not cold – as soon as I put my tootsies into the bed – and yes, there was absolutely no sheet shock. Neither do you want to get up in the morning! Perfect for those lie-ins on the way over the yuletide break. Lots of lovely colours to choose from and I’m glad I got this one, the Eau de Nil (a duck egg shade), which matches my fridge! You can also choose the other colours of Grey, Mauve, Purple, Ivory and Taupe – get this on your bed in time for guests arriving or needing to be warm this winter. What’s more, do you have pics of you or your pets getting Cozee? If so, tag me and use the hashtag #mycozeehome , and post them –whichever ones I mention or ‘like’ will get featured in my blog next week – like these ones… go take one now and make sure you give me a caption too!
These great offers only last a week and are shown on our sister channels – but don’t delay, the offers end at midnight on Sunday 9th December. There’s a six-piece Luxurious Fragrance Layering Collection from Philosophy, a matching watch and tennis bracelet set from Diamonique and there’s a Garmin Activity tracker for kids. Go here to find out more and buy.
Next week’s sneaky peeks are all down the bottom of this blog – enjoy!
My secret Santa gift at the cousins’ bash was an innovative advent calendar featuring a selection of 24 loose teas – in each little pouch there’s just enough to make a cup – and I’ve been doing it each day so far. This one was lovely – there’s a lemon sorbet one for today! I do love my tea and am looking forward to next Wednesday 12th when our little tearooms opens again for one day only in Sheepwash with some Christmas fayre and a nice cup of winter chai!
Alison Cork’s drinks do
Was very chuffed to be invited to Alison Cork’s lovely home near Knightsbridge last week, to meet several of her friends who are trying to encourage more women to get involved in politics. I can’t myself, not whilst I’m at QVC, but really enjoyed talking to MPs and seeing Alison’s amazing décor in situ – even the bathroom was incredible, as you can imagine. As was the stag in the front garden – not everyone can say that!
What makes Charlie go Mmmm?!
Well it’s Italian, it’s fluffy and it’s Ginetta’s new panettone! Talking of festive fayre, the lovely lady who used to present Veronese, returned on Monday with her superbly delicious range of luxury foods – go here to see Tuttobono products online and buy them in time for Christmas. If you click on the video for each online you’ll see the fun she had with Andi Peters and Dale. Before the launch I went around finding out what people thought about the fabulous panettone – including Charlie Farley whose reaction was priceless – as ever! He never lets me down…! Go here to see the video.
Last delivery dates – in case you wondered, we are looking at December 20th to order goods for Christmas delivery – it helps this year as Christmas Eve is a Monday, I’m sure! I’m getting some of my orders in whilst they are on Easy Pay interest-free instalments – spread the cost of Christmas, why not?!
Last Gasp Summer
This week on one of my ‘vlogs’ (video blogs, mostly walking around Devon countryside!) discussed what I miss most about summer (see it here on my Facebook.) And with the nights well and truly drawing in, we approach the shortest day of the year – 21st December. It really irks me not to be able to walk the dogs when it’s light, and on Tuesday this week in the village shop, doing my community bit in Sheepwash even by 4.50pm I was looking out over a darkened square. Boo. Mind you – it means more hours to enjoy the fab Christmas tree decs the villagers have just put up – pretty!
Each week in the shop I’m visited by my lovely neighbours. Eileen, who has a cup of tea with me and puts the world to rights, and gives me her opinion of what she thinks of my outfits and products when she sees me on QVC. Mary my lovely pal from up the road who comes and discusses important life topics with me – we both have similar beliefs and interests. And I love knowing people’s names who come in to buy bread, fresh milk and vino etc, and ask how my knee is doing. But today my hometown excelled itself….
Sausage Express …
I’d run out of time to nip to get sausages from the local butcher, Adrian at his shop just outside of Hatherleigh.. They do the most amazing combinations and Nicola wanted to get some for tonight’s dinner, as local pal Caitlynne was coming along with my two writer guests, new writer Maya from France and prolific sci-fi author Jenna Wolfhart from Colchester (originally from Tennessee – we are so international here!). I’ll go and get some, I said. BUT had to go to the shop half an hour earlier than I expected. Standing in the shop, thinking I’d have to buy the frozen ones from Cornwall, in the freezer, I thought I’d give Adrian a ring. Is there any chance someone in the shop might be going via Sheepwash and could buy me some sausages and pop them in? Long shot I know, but… the answer was yes! So they were duly delivered and dinner was served – honey roast sausages and sweet potato mash and stir fry veg and corn on the cob followed by Nicola’s homemade brownie (vegan – made with another secret ingredient – can you guess what it is?!) I love my countryside life!
Making the local news
Well the big Christmas singalong concert is next week! Barry Parsons – local Devon county councillor and good mate – and I will be crooning to Christmas tunes from 7pm on Tuesday and it’s crunch time for deciding which songs to sing. Again in the local church in Sheepwash, we’ve already sold around 60 out of the 90 tickets and the Sheepwash Chronicle has only just come out with this feature – it’s so lovely to get such amazing support. Well, we did have a fabulous time when we did it in August and this time it’s a complimentary mulled wine and mince pies during the interval too. So far the song list looks like this:
- It’s the most wonderful time of the year
- Chestnuts roasting on an open fire (the Christmas song)
- Silent Night
- Little Drummer Boy
- Santa Baby
- Hello again
- Have yourself a merry little Christmas
- Rockin’ around the Christmas Tree
- Rainbow Connection
- Lonely this Christmas
- Merry Christmas Everyone
- White Christmas
What am I missing? Let me know below over the weekend!
Book of the Week
Jackie Kabler’s done it again! My author colleagues are very much my idols at the moment – they put me to shame as I am still to finish my fifth novel. And it’s big because she’s signed with no less than Harper Collins! Their #KillerReads digital imprint has given her a book deal – for her fourth book – and this time it’s a thriller! We have to wait till the 19th of April to get the book itself, but the cover can be seen on pre-order pages online – well done, missus! I am still waiting for the audiobook of Cora Baxter book three by the way, having enjoyed the first two!
Outlander is back and means business! On Amazon Prime, which many of you get if you have an Alexa, you can binge-watch this time travel serial to your heart’s content. It’s Outlander season four that’s just begun and once again it’s hooked me in with Jamie Fraser (be still my beating heart!) and his wife, time-travelling doctor Claire, who arrive in 1760’s southern America when Native Americans are still free to roam on their land. But it’s the conflict with the westerners that provides the most gripping plots – I love it! By the way, there are eight books in total in this series from Diana Gabaldon – so if you love getting stuck in to a story that will last you months, this is it!
The week ahead on QVC
Monday – Cozee Home set of two Velvet Soft embossed duvet sets – see above.
Tuesday – Neom Organics return with a four-piece luxury gift collection (pic pls)

Doesn’t matter what it looks like, how great that this new technology means as little effort as possible for as much gain – even less work in order to get maximum results with better younger looking skin – maybe even in time for Christmas and all those parties and reunions. Watch out for my video on my social media later in the week…
Ps also an early bird order link for another amazing value Bare Minerals collection towards the end of the week too.
Next week – Barry and Debbie’s singalong concert in Sheepwash. Yes, Tuesday 11th will be very busy – no, not the meaningful vote, but our festive favourites gig in the church from 7pm. Plus in the afternoon, the wreath making class in the village hall (very glad to be doing one of these – I’ll take it back down to brother Glenn’s as a Christmas pressie – assuming it’s good enough! Then the Wednesday tea rooms – busyyyy! Also this Friday a night out for my annual Christmas shopping trip with my handsome son. Fun packed weeks ahead!
