There’s no business like snow business!

Jilly in the snowWell for only the second time in nearly 20 years the snow got to me and I didn't make it in to the studios. Luckily the blizzards subsided and the following night, after a scarily three hour drive, I made it in. I've stocked up the car with lots of emergency rations including spare contact lenses and face cleanser, and, with a bit of luck, we are over the worst.

I hope you all had a great relaxing Christmas and a belated Happy New Year! Ours was a short but lovely Christmas, spent with close family, which was great, then back to work on Boxing Day, which has become all part of the routine.

It was extra busy this year with my little 9-year-old, Cassidy, being in Panto. She actually worked more than all of us over Christmas and loved every minute. I took my turn with the licensed chaperone duties on the show and I must admit standing in the wings for that long I did feel a little urge to just run on the stage and join in! It was a really good show and makes me wonder why Mother Goose isn't done more often.

Anyway, I'm trying to embrace January and adopt a positive approach as it always seems to be a bit of a down month. We have started our insurance claim for our floors, which is just awful and I'm questioning why we all pay all these insurances when it is such a hassle when you need help - it's all  very frustrating.

I did promise Susan to keep you all updated and, at the moment, it has been passed to yet another company and we have had another inspection and that assessor didn't  know that someone else had already been and hadn't been sent the original paperwork and so it goes on. Meanwhile, it's now been six weeks, so if I don't turn up one night and it's not snowing, you'll know I've probably disappeared down a hole in the kitchen floor!

I'm definitely getting into Twitter! If you haven't tried it yet, it's brilliant and one of the few things in life that's free! You can find me here @jillyQVC and it's a great way to keep in contact on a daily basis.

But for the foreseeable future let's just dream of sunshine unless you are off on holiday somewhere sunny, if you are then let me know. I'd love to hear where you are off to and maybe you can send some sunshine back to us.

Take care and keep warm,

    Hi Jilly,
What a fab photo of you in the snow! And how balanced are you!? One legged, the other up high AND on slippy snow! You’re a brave girl! Sorry your floors have given you such bother. Just awful as you say. And yes we have to jump through hoops for everything now! I am glad Cassidy had such a great panto experience…more to come I’m sure!
Take care and yes keep warm,
    Susan x

Hi jilly, sorry to hear about your floor,i went through the same situation last year just before christmas.Doing my house work as you do before xmas, moves a wall unit carpet wet through, found the leak,
coming from my washer in the kitchen, and the water had travelled through to the dinning area, (i have a through lounge),so insurance claim started 2 weeks before xmas, came to see the damage to my carpet, and i ended up waiting untll april for my claim to be sorted and a full lounge/dinning room carpet being laid. They are quick to take you money, but not so quick to deliver.
take care keep safe and warm.x
