Theatre, football, and a frock!

2

I am writing this on July 18th! It seems like suddenly we are in the middle of summer and I’m not sure I’m quite ready. Life is busier than ever and I often find myself thinking it’s Thursday when in fact it’s still Monday afternoon!

I really want to share with you the Style Look and I’ll make sure I tell you about some of the bits of life outside QVC too.

Let’s start with some of the outside fun. You may know one of our fabulous style guests Jacqui Joseph. I love working with Jacqui as she has a real passion for fabric, fashion and knows her crafting like no other! I always learn from her about how a garment has been made and how they put patterns together. We also enjoy spending time together outside of work and spent a fantastic night at the theatre watching her brother Patterson Joseph perform “Sancho” at Wilton’s Music Hall. Brother like sister, they are both hugely talented. Patterson not only performed many different characters in his solo show but he also wrote it too! It was absolutely brilliant and I could have watched over and over.

Moving now on to fashion and our fortnightly Style Look.

This week it is a really easy, casual, no fuss look. Ideal for holidays, weekends, casual daytime, oh and that time when you have no idea what to wear when traveling to and from the holiday place.

You may have seen Antthony on the telly with us before and will know what fun he is! Always full of energy and ideas. You can see this through his designs too.

The maxi: Antthony Designs
The maxi dress and cardigan set comes in four different colours and you get two pieces. It does all the work for you. This is a daytime look rather than evening. So great for throwing on in the morning and not having to fuss with fancy jewellery or evening footwear. I’d wear this with a pair of Skechers or Vionics and maybe a belt if that feels comfortable and that’s it. Save the glam for after 8pm!

This is from a show Antthony and I did. We didn’t stop chatting!!

The shoe: Adesso
Got to love an espadrille at this time of year. They bridge the gap perfectly between a more secure shoe and a high heel. We have loads of great ones on our website so in all honesty is hard to choose. These are lovely and have a manageable 2.3” heel. I also like the wider ankle strap for comfort. If you aren’t normally a high heel girl, why not give them a little go.

The bag: Amanda Lamb
Again we are spoilt at QVC for incredible bags. In this case it’s Amanda Lamb and I’ve had the pleasure of working with her here. She is wonderful, warm and down to earth. I love her bags and they are not only top quality but have a classy, well-designed feel (and are really well priced)!

As you know we do three Big Deals each week, and one of them this week on QVC Style is this rather lovely little number from Radley.

You may also know Clare as one of our style experts and ambassador for Radley and a friend of mine : ) This is us at her birthday recently.

I’m going to leave you with one final photo of some of our fantastic team who work so hard back stage. This is us out together watching the England game.

Hi Eilidh, Smashing column this week, watching Antthony is a ball, is he even more fun when the camera’s stopped rolling? That would make for some great bloopers.
    Take it easy.
