The simple things in life…

A stroll by the riverHello! Hope your week has been great. It's been so busy here at QVC. I loved every minute of Gem Day and I have a cracking weekend on the way too, which I'll come onto in a minute.

Firstly, I'm so pleased (and relieved) to say Dad's operation was a great success. He's up, moving around already, although he's under strict instructions to take things easy. I won't take him rock climbing with the kids just yet!

He's been well looked after by the NHS and tells me the food has been fabulous (like father, like son, food is very important to us!) and that's saying something because Dad is a dab hand in the kitchen. His garlic and onion potatoes are out of this world!

I thought I'd share this recent snap (pictured above) I took when out for a stroll. I love being near water. My absolute passion is the sea and if able to, I'll spend hours treading the shore, skimming the occasional stone into the waves.

I have the utmost respect for the sea, even more so since I nearly lost my life to it when I was 11 years of age. If Dad hadn't been there to save me (our dog Molly was on hand too!) I'm pretty certain I wouldn't be writing this blog today. It sends shivers down my spine just thinking about it. I'll spare the details but it was a truly terrifying experience.

Now, back to the photo, I'm no bird expert, but in the background that's definitely a goose! However, the bird in the foreground baffles me… any ideas? Another species of goose perhaps? Maybe you can help. Anyway, they both loved the food we took along for them!

So it's a busy weekend ahead at QVC with our Festival of Beauty event. I'm on-air Saturday 28th April with ' Festival of Beauty ' at 4pm, then Ultrasun at 7pm and L'Occitane at 9pm. I'm back on Sunday with Nails Inc at 9pm.

Then… big fanfare… Honora Pearls is back! I'm launching their new TSV, Sunday night, at midnight!

Hope you can join me.

Take care and see you soon

This week's fact: Planet Jupiter is enormous; over 1300 Planet Earths could fit inside it!

    Hi Charlie.
Bella and i were sorry you didn’t do any Charlie Bears on Friday [ although we did watch Julia] and brought My first charlie bears [ in pink] for Bella ans a bag buddie for my-self. Missed most of the Beauty events over the week-end as I had an operation. So I’m now nursing a very painful and sore side. Glad your dad is doing ok and out of hospital.
Hope you’ll be doing some of the next Charlie Bears on 25th.
    Take care.
    Bella and debby

    Hi Charlie,
Glad to hear your Dad is recovering well. We visited our daughter and grandson in Norfolk today and saw some birds like the one in your photo. They are Egyptian geese. One pair had six fluffy babies, very cute. When we arrived home Charlie Bears Mina monkey was waiting. I have bought it for our grandson as he loves monkeys. Just waiting now for the Honora TSV!
I have always lived near the sea, love it. Have to say one of my favourite places is Skagen in Denmark, really magical!
    Best wishes Beverley

Hello Debby, and hello Bella! I hope you’re feeling less sore and are well and truly on the mend. Dad is recovering really well I’m pleased to say. I tend to have most Fridays off work so unfortunately didn’t get the opportunity to present the Charle Bears show 🙁 I’d better check my schedule for the 25th!
    Take care and speedy recovery.
