The Puppy diaries, Beauty and all things Super!

Hello! Hope you're well. I can't believe, as I write this, half the year has passed us by and we've just had the longest day of the year! Wow, time really is flying right now.

Lots to discuss this week and, as its been a while, I thought I'd give you a little update on the puppies escapades.

Bramble Misty

Bramble and Misty, our two Cairn Terrier puppies, are now 9 months old. They're fabulous pets who are mischievous, love to dig holes, search for food and love to play!

Let's start with the little mishap of last week. I was searching high and low for the remote control. It's not unusual for a TV remote to be misplaced in any household (normally found down the back of the sofa or somewhere random like the cutlery drawer). However upon wandering into the garden, there it was, right before me, in pieces. Never to work again! My initial concern was the batteries and that the dogs may have chewed or eaten one. Thankfully they hadn't. The remote is now replaced and safely out of reach!

Broken remote Wet Bramble

Despite the odd mishap training has gone really well so far. I love taking them out for walks. We recently headed to some woods nearby and Bramble came home filthy! Generally they don't need bathing very often but on this occasion Bramble did. You can see by her expression (above right) that she isn't too impressed and when wet there doesn't seem to be much to her – but I can assure you they're well fed!

Damaged packageThe other close shave was a delivery I had from QVC. It was an order I placed for our very own Alison Young (she often refers to me as her personal shopper!). It was some beautiful Kelly Hoppen bedding. I was upstairs and heard this strange rustling. Didn't think much of it at the time (a big mistake on my part).

Between the two puppies they'd chewed both ends, right the way through to the cotton duvet. Thankfully no damage was done other than the packaging. Alison was very understanding – phew!

So, we have the occasional mishap but all the magic, charm, devotion and loyalty outweighs it a million to one. I'll keep you posted in the future.

On the topic of Alison Young I have the pleasure of presenting a 2 hour special with Alison as we celebrate 18 years of beauty. My show with Ali is on Saturday 6th July at 8pm. I can't wait….. it's been a long time since Ali and I presented a show together…… I wonder why they've kept us apart?!

The very next day is Super Sunday! I was part of the event last year… Wow, it was an incredible day. As the day draws near, more will be revealed! I'll be on air from 1pm.

Before all of that is my regular show, Tuesday evening at 8pm, Destination Gems! It's been six months now and I'm still so flattered to have been invited to present a regular weekly show of gemstones.

It would be fun to have you join me on twitter. I'm @mecharliebrook

Take care and see you soon.
