The Outerwear Directive 2016

Arguably the biggest sartorial purchase we make on a regular basis, the winter coat is often the cornerstone to our entire look for the season and beyond. Each year designers bring us classic styles, new and refreshed designs, and a wealth of on-trend shapes and fabrics, creating a must-have outerwear list.

This year we have translated the trend into six key styles in our Outerwear Directive – from floral-printed, quilted puffa jackets to classic woollen capes; from tailored cover-ups to shearling and faux, plus we’re also focusing on key shades and fabrics – frosted-tones and touchable textures.

Read on and discover that this season’s trends are more diverse than they’ve ever been. We’ve chosen a few of our favourites from our fantastic collections, to ensure your find the perfect outerwear to keep you warm this winter.

Sleek lines, monotones and the notion that less is more are the key elements in this outerwear trend. Think sleeveless blazers, pared-down silhouettes and fuss-free styling. Simple yet utterly clever, minimalist styling is classic, timeless and eternally chic.
