Outside of QVC
Gosh, another week done and dusted. Sometimes I feel like I have blinked and missed it! This week Fred and I took the girls to another place that we hadn’t been to before. I’m trying to make the most of everything we have near us rather than just going to the same places again and again. So on Sunday we headed to the Heavy Horse Centre in Verwood. I had heard good things about this from lots of people who said it was great for kids.
They were absolutely right. They have over 20 rare breeds of heavy horses that you can feed and stroke. You can also ride in the carriages around the farm and enjoy the beautiful surrounding scenery. There’s also tractor rides, beautiful old caravans, vintage trucks, loads of play areas and climbing frames, bouncy castle, rides and plenty of picnic areas. My girls had an absolute blast and Ivy particularly loved the Shetland ponies too. It was such beautiful weather on Sunday so all in all it was a great day out and we would definitely go again.
What I wore
I’ve been wearing this Ruth Langsford Soft Hitachi Knit Sweater loads. It’s incredibly soft and I just love the stripped ribbing detail around the neck and cuffs. It has a fashionable sporty feel to it and it’s so easy to throw on for the school run but also for weekend laidback style. For our day out I teamed it with the Nouveaux Skinny Distressed Jeans which I have to say are quite neat for ‘distressed’.
If you saw my last fashion post you’ll know that I do like a truly ripped jean so these were quite tame for me! I wear the size 12 in both items. I also wore my favourite trainers at the moment which are by Bronx and are a soft leather and have a slight graffiti style design on the side.
On Tuesday Jackie and I, cloaked in secrecy, were sent on a mission to try out the latest innovation from Dyson ahead of the New York launch. We hadn’t been told anything part from the fact that it was Dyson and that it was like nothing we have seen before!! We were so excited as you can imagine. So off we went to a secret location for the big reveal. When we got there head hair stylist, Tracie Bedwood was there so we had a pretty good idea that this was the newest hair product, but what would it do?!!!
Jackie and I had to wear a blindfold and go in separately to see it for the first time and to get our natural reactions to seeing it. The really exciting bit however was to see exactly what this hair styler could do. When I say our mouths dropped I’m not kidding, it was like we had just seen a magic trick right in front of us and we practically screamed! You can see the full behind the scenes shoot in the video I have done for you below and see this brilliant piece of technology in action.
So what does it do you ask? Well it curls, waves, smooths and dries all in one amazing device! There are different attachments for different hair types and results and you will be able to buy the kit that is perfect for you. Of course we will be bringing you Easy Payments, this is a considered purchase starting at £399.96 and so of course we will be letting you spread the cost interest-free to our maximum 4 Payments. You are going to want to try this for yourself so when it launches, get it home and have a good play with it.
Try all the styles and remember that this is styling with a maximum of 150 degree heat, no metal plates that are burning you at over 210 degrees!! It’s an absolute game-changer for the health of your hair and a real investment. I know it won’t be for everyone but if it’s something that you want to try then join us in November to see it launch on air and see all the amazing demos! I can’t wait for you to see it. In the Kitchen – Cauliflower Buffalo Wings
These are something that I am seeing pop up on menus all over the place recently. I first tried them when a friend brought some to a party as her dish for a tapas night and she did a Vegan version. They were so darn good, we all wolfed the lot. So I thought I would give them a go myself. I looked up a few different recipes and ended up doing a bit of a mix of a few because of what I had in the cupboard at home.
What you will need:
One medium cauliflower
2 tsp paprika
2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp ground cumin
2 heaped tbs Plain Flour
Breadcrumbs ( I cheated and used ready made)
Pack of crispy onions
Hot sauce (I used piri piri)
For the dipping sauce:
Pre-heat oven to 180. I used my Air Fryer 807828 but the oven will work too. Take the cauliflower and break or cut into smallish florets and set aside. In a bowl mix the spices, flour, salt and milk and mix with a whisk. In a separate dish empty the ready to go breadcrumbs and shake in a heaped table spoon of crispy onions and give it a little mix.
Then take each floret and add to the wet mix and coat, you can put a handful in at a time. Then transfer each floret to the bread crumbs and cover all over. Then lay onto a baking tray or a wire rack. Repeat until all are coated. Bake for 20 minutes.
Then take 100g of butter and melt it in a pan and then add a tablespoon of hot sauce. Drizzle this all over the cauliflower florets and return them to the oven for another 20 minutes. For the dip take a pot of sour cream and put a good few dollops in a dish, squeeze half a lemon in and then add chopped chives if you have them or leave them out, it’s up to you.
Then remove the cauliflower buffalo wings and get dipping!
That’s it from me for another week, as this blog goes live I will be celebrating Tilda’s 7th birthday. I can’t believe she’s seven already! It feels like yesterday that we brought her home from the hospital. So next week I will let you know how the disco birthday party went and if I survived the craziness of 20 kids running riot in a church hall. As always keep up with me on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter to be the first to get my favourite product pics and behind the scenes clips.
Thanks for reading,
Lots of love
