This last week has reminded me why working at QVC is so good – the guests!
As always it’s been really busy with lots of variety of shoes but it’s working with all the fabulous people that make it such fun. This week I’ve been working with some new guests as well as some well-known favourites and it’s been a lot of fun.
I was lucky enough to meet up with the very lovely June Postner as she came onto the morning show to tell us all about Frank Usher jewellery and fashion. She’s always such a lovely, charming, elegant and regal guest, and great fun to have in the studio.
On the same day June was in it, was also my delight to work with the lovely SJ Froome as we recorded some information about a Big Deal from Bareminerals.
The offer is not for a big package, but a trio of your absolute essentials at an amazing price. SJ is always full of the joys of spring and knows so much about make-up that just standing next to her I seem to gain a lot of information.
Later on that week it was all about fashion and quite unusually I was joined by the lovely Jenny Brennan, from Together. Jenny doesn’t often make it into the studio, after all she does have a huge business to run, but she always bring such great energy and so many smiles it makes the show such fun to do. Her designs are always priced so well and bring a great deal of style for real women.
I have hardly seen my mate Kathy on the morning shows lately, as she’s been a little bit poorly! I’m glad to say that she’s better now so look forward to seeing her soon, but in the meantime I was working with all sorts of people on the morning show including the lovely Claire, where we were getting to grips with a LAB Today’s Special Value offer, which was very popular.
Somebody who I also had the great pleasure of working with, I hadn’t expected to see for a few months. The very beautiful Marie Françoise Wolfe joined me for an hour of Kipling.
By the time you read this she may very well have had her baby as she was, as she put it, about to explode. She was positively glowing and was delighted to have received so many gifts and well wishes from viewers all over the country. That was her last show and her due date was in a couple of weeks time. We look forward to seeing the pictures and hearing all about it soon!
Back at Biagi towers things were just as busy as always and I had received my strawberry plants from Thompson and Morgan, which my daughter promptly planted up. They are doing very well and both my daughter and I are looking forward to lots of fresh strawberries in a few months time. I also got a very nice surprise as a box turned up filled with Real Pie pasties!
We have a TSV on Thursday that Anne Dawson and I have already started to squabble over. We are presenting The Morning Show together and we are seeing who is going to be the lucky one to eat pasties for breakfast. There are some classic recipes in the offer with one of my favourites, which is the mince steak and vegetable, but my kids really enjoyed the ham hock with pea, which is a new one for me.
Brett, our wonderful guest who makes so many of the pies and pasties, knows how much I love his work and I really will be looking forward to seeing him on Thursday.
At the weekend I was mostly busy with gardening and fashion and had the great pleasure of working with two brand-new guests to me; Charlotte Day and Charlotte Broadbent. Both these ladies really know their fashion and I learned a lot. Ms Broadbent and I also coined a new phrase…. crotch bag!
As so often with all of our guests they were great fun and I look forward to seeing them both again at the Q.
Some people call my job work…… but as you can tell it’s about as enjoyable as work can be! Look forward to seeing you over the next week or two.
