The Final Countdown

Well then the good news is that I have ticked off all the people and presents I need to get this year apart from one or two which will come out of the woodwork when I’m pretty much done. Christmas really is in touching distance now, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, all the decorations are up and festivity is in the air. As soon as it hits December all the radio stations seem to play a Christmas hit every other song to get to in the mood!

What’s your favourite Christmas hit? I’m quite a fan of ‘Last Christmas’ by Wham, also I love ‘Santa Baby’ by Eartha Kitt it’s very cute, and we can’t forget the Michael Bublé version of ‘Its Beginning to look a lot like Christmas’…They all get you in the Christmas spirit. When I was younger I used to make a mix tape of all my favourite Christmas hits and I kind of still do but now on a digital media platform, how times have changed! Anyway enjoy this video of some of the QVC gang singing their favourite Christmas song but forgetting the words!

What about New Year’s Eve? Have you made plans? What are you doing? I’m told staying in is the new going out so that’s just what I’m doing. I’ve invited over some friends and I’m going to cook this year which in itself raises more decisions…what do I cook? If you can recommend any recipes I’d be grateful, something fairly simple that won’t take a day’s preparation would be ideal.

I thought I had a dish in mind but I practiced it the other day and messed it up, the result wasn’t the tantalising NYE delight I’m hoping to pull off. I think I’ve got the starters sorted and some canapés with a glass of bubbles, luckily one of my friends is going to take care of dessert. It means I will be able to see the New Year in with good friends and Teddy, if I make it until midnight that is.

How are your preparations going?

Chloe..chuck a chilli or curry in the slow cooker, wine and fresh fruit and cheese..simple and scrummy and leaves you to mingle. Have a fabulous Christmas and a happy and healthy 2016. Mary x

Hi, Chloe. Enjoyed watching you present Yong Kim without Ingrid…you did great! Love the informal style. Good meal suggestions from Jill and Mary. One from me…spag bol…everyone loves it! Where are you from originally? I’m from Bolton and you sound like me. A very happy New Year to all at QVC, in front of and behind the camera. Warmest regards, Nina
