The ‘Diary of a Wannabe Shopping Channel Presenter’ launch!

Diary ofThis week
– My latest novel Diary of a Wannabe is finally launched on Amazon!

– Hawaiian Escape and Hawaiian Affair on offer at just 99p each this Easter weekend only

– Which famous actress are you? Take the fun quiz – or find out your Easter bunny name!

– A wonderful weekend in the garden – watch out for Monday’s solar lights TSV bargain

– Plus, bloopers featuring some weird slips of the tongue!

– And, of course, sneaky peeks at upcoming deals…

Well, after all the hard work and writing courses, my new novel is finally available on Amazon as of this weekend – why not go read the first chapter for free? Just click here to go to The Diary of a Wannabe Shopping Channel Presenter.

When the link goes live (sometime late Friday), you will be able to download the eBook instantly to read on your Kindle, your free Kindle app (Android or Apple store), or even on your PC (more here about Kindle on PC). It’s at the launch price of just £1.53 – just for Easter weekend!

It’s the fictionalised adventure – fictionalised, note! – of a young twenty-something trainee journalist who wants to be a TV celebrity. So, where better to ‘start’ than the ‘Search for a Selly-Telly Star’ contest on ‘ShOT’ channel? It's the nation’s newest most dynamic shopping channel ever, based near Gatwick (See, I told you it’s fictional!).

With behind the scenes shenanigans and insider secrets that are (honestly! ;-)) nothing to do with my own experiences in twenty years of shopping TV, or ‘selly-telly’! Abigail Benson embarks upon a life-changing journey that is a cross between Bridget Jones, Alan Partridge, and Eddie Murphy in movie ‘Holy Man’.

Here's a quick extract –

Took an audition for two weeks’ time – I am in! My first step to super stardom – well, shopping telly – is just 14 days away. Studio, however, is 75 miles away – studios are based in back of beyond near Gatwick Airport! But it is my first foot on ladder (albeit Collapsible Seven Position Multi-Function Ladder with optional Paint Pot Holder/Binoculars Stand. See, research already paying off. Have to do as much as I can, now – the race is on!)

The paperback is coming soon too – almost certainly by this time next week. Am so excited to hear what you think – do go read it and let me know! It began as a column for a website over a decade ago, but never got finished. I was asked to step in and complete it, but until now, it never happened!

So here it is finally – updated and uploaded and waiting for you to read it. Enjoy! And do leave me a review on Amazon and Goodreads if you’d recommend it to others too! Fank u! Oh, and a comment below…

BooksNot only is my latest novel up on Amazon this week, but to help mark the occasion, there is a special offer on parts 1 and 2 of the Hawaiian Trilogy just for Easter Weekend too!

Special Offer – they will each be just 99p – yes that’s right, just 99p for the eBook on Amazon until Monday night (21st). Or buy the paperbacks as usual, also via Amazon.

If you didn’t already know, last summer I self-published my first novel, with the second one being out at the end of November – but be warned, the steamy versions are pretty hot!

Book 1 Hawaiian Escape Steamy or Hawaiian Escape PG, the prequel to Hawaiian Affair – is now available on Amazon in eBook or paperback in both PG original and steamy (just released last week!).

Book 2 Hawaiian Affair Steamy or Hawaiian Affair PG versions are both available on Amazon in either eBook or paperback.

Don’t forget, only 99p till late Easter Monday!

Coming June 2014 – Hawaiian Retreat – Helen’s story – book three in the trilogy!

RiWiSi – READ IT WRITE IT SELL IT – my weekly look at all things book
More for self-publishers and avid readers as usual, on my Friday Fiction Focus on my website – here, on my RiWiSi – Go Large extended blog this week – along with a self-publisher’s blog – do you really need a Fairy God-publisher?!

Still to come… The 80 year old as flexible as Flavia… 12 Angry Men… Which famous actress are you?… and what’s your Easter Bunny name!?

Back to YouThis week I watched the Britain's Got Talent  YouTube clip of the amazing dancing granny Paddy – see ‘watch’ below. Inspiring eh!

In fact, it makes you so aware of what’s possible with your body if you only try – it takes an effort, but isn’t it worth it?

Hence why I started macrobiotics two years ago – and am so glad several of my Back to You group have booked to come meet Marlene Watson Tara with me on Saturday 28th June. It's the day before the book launch party for my third Hawaiian novel/ summer get together for successful Back-to-You-ers!

It’s near Dorking, Surrey, and all the details for her 'health via nutrition' day course can be obtained if you email me on (£75 for the day, 10am start, incl lunch and hand-outs, with lifts from Dorking Station).

Changing to a healthier diet, and removing some of the main problem-causers, can have amazing results. I am looking forward to Marlene telling all the girls – about ten of us – about her success stories and what she’s changed with a nutrition overhaul. And that’s the start.

On top of that, it’s vital to stretch, and do your exercise – we all know that, but it’s making yourself do it, isn’t it?! And so many have been reporting great things on our Facebook groups. I’ll have to try and get a few of them to join us on air in September when Back to You returns! Lol.

Debbie with dogsNow that Nick’s moved in here with my daughter Lauren, (to save for a house deposit) I’ve started joining him on the slightly longer dog walk he does each day with Mad-Dog Baloo – the spaniel who never stops – and it’s making me feel much healthier. That on top of the Leg Master and the BodyBlade.

Debbie Sinclair Bunn said on our Facebook Group this week that the little extra’s she’s been doing have made all the difference to her. In fact, she’s really enjoyed being part of our new little community we’ve built up online. And her story is a really inspiring one – do come join us and watch out for her – chief Fruit Loop and definitely an Ambassador for the group!

Debbie Sinclair Bunn: "I have finally worked out when I need water not food… I don’t eat breakfast and about 1ish I have a mug of miso with noodles, so by the time Gary gets in I’m hungry and ready for my tea, if I do fancy something I always have a bag of granola handy or a piece of fruit… But that still doesn’t mean I don’t make a big booboo every now and then but we are human not robots it happens and the fact that I don’t get myself into giving up mode… I spent the past 4 years not liking myself and doing that and I’m not ever going back.”

Do check out my Monday Update on Back to You page on – just go here to read the latest one – it will appear as the first blog on that page on Monday!

Come join in on Facebook! Just over 920 members on Back to You QVC group this week! Whoop! ‘Back to You QVC’ (open) group, on Facebook. Or for the closed group, search ‘Break the Habit BTU’.

Back to You returns weekly to QVC UK in September.

QVC SOUNDBITES – Peeks and Laughs
Chaz DeanSneaky Peek – Beauty Day is on Sunday 27th, and will have a fabulous WEN four piece hair care heroes collection as the Today’s Special Value! Whoop for Chaz Dean!

Debbie and AntthonyShhh – Antthony Update There are bargains galore with Pipa on an Antthony outlet hour on Tuesday (22nd) at 2pm. (Then the lovely guy is back mid-May, with me on May 17th – can’t wait!)

Here’s me and Antthony at The Grove in Hollywood during my September 2012 visit.

Gatineau gangTan Accelerators Abound! It’s that time of year again when all of our tan accelerators vamoose out of the door whenever they appear on the QVC screen. No wonder!

If you’ve never come across them before, firstly, just check out the reviews, for instance on one I use all the time, the 400ml Gatineau tan accelerator, which was back on Monday on my two hour Gatineau show – great fun!

Soooo many people loving the product and the results. Do go read, especially if you have issues in the sun.

Along with Ultrasun (used as normal on dry skin 15 mins prior to sun exposure,) and my supplement (see snippets below) missus ‘photosensitive’ here can go out in the sun again – no more seeking shade when others are basking in the rays!

This week – It’s a very happy Easter if you love your gardening! Do join us for Richard Jackson’s 16th anniversary shows, and a gorgeous weekend of all things green and pleasant. Including the lovely sun loungers Friday 18th TSV which I sneaky peeked last week, (assuming you’re reading this in time and you haven’t missed it!).

There’s a complete Easter weekend bonanza with a daily 9am two-hour In the garden with Richard Jackson special on all four days, Fri through Mon.

Solar lightsAlso, even more on Sunday midnight with me, as I launch this fabulous Luxform garden lights duo (I had three sets). They always help make the garden look pretty at night plus guide the way for safety too.

How delightful too, with the pretty starburst patterns they make on the ground! The dogs liked them too. And very impressive fairly bright light from the sunshine we had today – good news for not tripping on the path!

Easy ShaperAlso – remember fitness guy Tony Little? A guest from ages ago on QVC? Well his latest fitness device is the Today’s Special Value on Tuesday, the Easy Shaper Pro – good for toning the conventional way.

A few this week! Firstly Chloe and Keeley getting giggly in the Elemis show!…

SNIPPETS –Pics and Facts

On the beachL-Tyrosine – As promised during the Gatineau show: the supplement which I take every day from Spring to late Autumn to help my skin cope with the sun, is an amino acid called L-Tyrosine (you’ll have to Google that but, trust me, for me it works from the inside out, where tan accelerator works from the outside in.)

There must be something missing in the way my skin works – hence being the one in the family always hiding in the shade behind deckchairs when we went to the beach as kids. Ahhh poor Debbie. If I eat really clean food too (see macrobiotics mention in Back to You above) it really helps me every summer nowadays. Anyone else the same?

My problem is my skin doesn’t even look like there’s anything wrong ‘cos I do go brown. It’s just an enigma. Like me, or so I’m told! Hehe!

Sunday Family Lunch Ohhh what a difference it makes to have such lovely fine weather! Yes it might be a bit nippy in the shade, but we had a super Sunday sit down in the garden last weekend – me and my two kids and their partners, and the pogs! Hope you’re enjoying it all too!

Chez Flint

Which Famous Actress Are You? Take this quiz – it’s a fun one! So many people were Elizabeth Taylor – then I tweaked my second choice answers and became Audrey Hepburn. Who are you? And if your fave is not here, which famous movie star would you be?

Which movie star are you

Cleanse and polish 202431w&h best ever cleanser is none other than… Our customer favourite Liz Earle's Cleanse & Polish! Click here to see it on our website. Best EVER cleanser eh! Do you agree? It must have well over a hundred awards now! And no wonder – it just works!

And if you’re painting the kids’ faces for Easter Bunny contests etc, then use it to remove that too, bullet proof mascara, the lot – it’s amazing and highly recommended by me, and you guys too!

Easter bunny nameFacebook Funny Ohhh how appropriate! What’s your Easter bunny name?

Mine’s amazing cos my daughter Lauren’s nickname is lollypop!

Have a happy Easter, whatever you’re doing!

Paddy's Britain's Got Talent Inferno!
And talking of wanting to be a star, like the character for my new novel, have you seen Paddy? This 80 year old dancer and her young partner, dance teacher Nico, set Britains Got Talent on fire with this performance – you have to watch it – but if you’re like me, have some tissues handy!

[Having trouble viewing this video? See YouTube's Help page

If only we can all be like Paddy when we’re older, eh? Incredible! Got to be a shue-in to win it now, surely! One million youtube hits and counting…!

NEXT WEEK – the paperback for Diary of a Wannabe will be available! A theatre outing to see Twelve Good Men at the Garrick with mummy. Plus Easter antics – with the kids away, what will I get up to over Easter weekend – when I’m not at QVC! No, I dunno (yet) either… Got any suggestions?

Have a good one, whatever you’re doing. And don’t forget to leave me a comment about it, afterwards!

Best wishes
