Don’t miss the Baselworld jewellery review!

Druzy Quartz Five Stone Bangle Sterling SilverThis Saturday (31st March), QVC are presenting the Baselworld Jewellery Review show at 6pm. This is a showcase of some of the newest and hottest trends to come out of one of the biggest jewellery and watch fairs in the world. QVC's Senior Jewellery Buyer, Sarah Filippardos, sent us this report from the event…

"The Jewellery Buying team from QVC are just back from the BaselWorld Jewellery and Watch fair in Switzerland – and oh what a trip – just a quick hour’s jaunt across to Basel and we entered a different world!

The BaselWorld Fair is THE major Watch and Jewellery fair at this time of year and this is a date that the QVC jewellery team is sure never to miss. We have spent the week searching out the best new trends and designs to bring to our customers.

All of the major international brands attend the Fair, many of whom we already bring to you with our shows – Invicta Watches, Skagen and Swarovski to name a few, with many more soon to come to QVC.

We buyers use our time wisely – lots of meetings with our wonderful designers and manufacturers from all over the world, as our most important suppliers attend, but we also leave plenty of time to walk the Fair, looking at what the top jewellery designers, artisans and major brands are planning for next season and beyond.

Buyers from each of the QVC Jewellery departments scour the aisles for the new and exciting designs and innovations that our very best contacts unveil at this show.

Watch out for the very best of our picks from the Fair, all available on Advance Order later on next week. In the meantime, here are some of the best trends from the Jewellery World…

Juicy Gemstones – lots of coloured gemstones, tourmaline pinks and teal greens, topaz blues and sapphire oranges – mixed to whet the appetite.

Halo, Halo – everything has a fine surround – either in diamond or in a complimentary stone or tonal contrast.

Lace Fantastic – Lace motifs abound – both for the lightness of metal content and ease of wearing, and also for the sheer beauty of design – rings, pendants and intricate earrings in oversized-glamour.

Flapper Frenzy – 1920s style long necklaces – single or multi strands on beads with large pendants, ball drops and tassels – Mr Gatsby, eat your heart out!

Don't miss the Baselworld Jewellery Review show at 6pm this Saturday the 31st March. You can browse our jewellery department at any time and we always love hearing your feedback so why not join us on  Facebook and Twitter.
