Thank heavens for the rain!

Grass in Simon's gardenIt’s not often I am glad to see a bit of rain, especially after last year's monsoon, but we really needed it! The ground around our neck of the woods hadn’t seen rain for several weeks and, as you can see from the picture, was really beginning to suffer.

I know we may have to water our plants from time to time, but I really draw the line at watering the grass! The depth of the cracks (as you can see from my son’s ruler stuck in the crevice) is around 12cm!

Now that we have had some thunderous downpours, things are all starting to get green again and I will have to start cutting the grass but I am loving the warmth and the way things are growing so well, especially me and my daughter's purple beans… more on those later.

The crack measures 12cm

By the way, our presenter challenge to see who could get the best display of lilies, supplied by Michael Perry of T&M, is hotting up! We are a very competitive lot and I have been trying to make a time lapse film of my little babies growing. I'll let you see how I fair in a little while. In the meantime, enjoy a beautifully green summer!
