I’ve been taking a little break for the past ten days or so; a bit of holidaying and a lot of writing as a book deadline approaches! Calamity Kabler also struck again while I was off – I slipped on a step and managed to twist my foot, which left me hobbling around for a few days, ouch! It’s settled down now though thankfully – I’m trying SO hard not to get injured this year and scupper all the charity running I need to do, but being as clumsy as I am, who knows?!
Meanwhile the removal company has just this morning dropped off all the packing boxes for our house move (see photo!) which is still scheduled for mid-March, so I intend to start packing NOW so it’s not a last-minute panic as the day approaches. A few boxes a day, every day, is the plan. We still need to clear out the attic but other than that we’ve been decluttering for months so hopefully it won’t be too stressful a job.
Right – a quick-fire look at some of my QVC picks this week! While I was away last week the new series of Ruth Langsford’s Fashion Edit began so I missed the first show, but I’ll be back with her at 9pm this Thursday 14th (Valentine’s night!) for our regular hour of fashion and fun. I’ll also be with Ruth at midnight on Friday to launch her latest Today’s Special Value offer.
I absolutely love her straight leg jeans and wear them a lot on air, so I’m delighted that we’ll be launching a NEW version, with an improved fit. They’ll be in Petite, Regular and Tall lengths and in sizes 8-22, and there’ll be a new colour on offer. Previously the jeans came in black and dark indigo, and now they’ll be joined by a light indigo option too. I can’t wait to show them to you!
I also just wanted to point out in case you haven’t seen it yet that the Beauty Pick of the Month for February is a retinol serum from Skinsense. I’ve mentioned before what a big fan of retinol I am and the difference it’s made to my skin in the past year or so since I started using it, so I was thrilled to see this at such an affordable price with no P&P for February. Just don’t forget you need to wear minimum SPF 30 sun protection during the day when you’re using it.
And just a quick mention for a pair of Skechers which have caught my eye. These chunky ombré trainers are super comfortable and I love the choice of colours, particularly the black/hot pink! I’m not really a pink person in everyday wear but for some reason most of my running gear is black or pink with a dash of bright purple too, so these are perfect. I’m also liking the fact that they’re under £40 as trainers can be SO expensive.
And I think that’s it for now… have a lovely week!
