Super Sunday fun

Toby in his Pink Ribbon Walk fineryHi all,

I hope you enjoyed our Super Sunday! There was a great buzz around the place and it was great to see so many of my colleagues and guests around at the same time. I hope you were able to join us and bag a bargain or two.

It's funny, but because of our shift patterns etc., sometimes I don't get to see some of the other presenters for months, for example I saw Anne (ooh no!) for the first time in months on Saturday night. We had so much to catch up on.

I was chatting with Anne when Ali Young came up and asked what I was doing for Super Sunday's launch. 'I've got a lovely Sony camera with Mat Trim', I replied. 'What's a Mat Trim?', she asked. 'A guest', I replied. After she had controlled her giggles she explained that she thought a 'Mat Trim' was a feature of the camera! Ali and I fell about laughing at this and also the very funny video 'Will IT' filmed at Ali's home, check out the naughty dog! I won't let Toby watch it!

I'm back on 'The Morning Show' both Wednesday and Thursday this week – on Wednesday I'll also be working with the lovely 'Loose Woman' Andrea McLean and her stylish Diamonique range. On Thursday I have an hour of Dazzling Druzy and another opportunity to talk with Maurice Ostro about his father's legacy, Ostro Blue Topaz.

Then I'll be taking a break from the pristine white halls of Chiswick Park and be back in touch later this month.

Thanks for your comments on my last blog – following on from the book reading theme – I don't read novels, during work time, as there's so much work-related research to absorb, but when I have a week or two's break I'll generally read any historical action page-turner, like a Wilbur Smith, Conn Iggulden or a Simon Scarrow. They generally contain just about everything to make a fantastic read and transport me to another place and time. So hopefully I'll be transported to various locations and centuries over the next couple of weeks.

I couldn't resist one more photo of Toby on his big BCC day!

Take care and carry on…
Dale x

D’ya know Gail, he’s always trying to get us into trouble (we wish!) ……… “carry on” indeed!! Oh I could carry on alright Daleo, especially after my ‘Fifty Shades’ enlightenment!! I tell ya, I’ve had my eyes opened that much in the last fortnight, I need fifty shades to cover em! Wikipedia is my new favourite pastime!!!
Gail, you’re hilarious and I don’t believe for a minute that you’re a prude! Big lol, that was funnier than your ‘whiskey diet’ and BSM jokes! I hope you don’t think too badly of me reading filth (which is definitely what it is)! I’ve moved on to book two now ……. only cos I’m convinced there’s a love story in it somewhere, just takes a bit of finding!!
    Have a lovely holiday Dale’icious.
Another gorgeous pic’y of Toby. Don’t forget to post the one of him asleep with his paw on the rugby ball!! Yes, I was ogling over the ironing on Sunday afternoon!!
Keep in touch ‘prude’ Gail!! BIG LOL!! Note, SHOUTY CAPITALS!!!!!!

Ma, you are awful, but I like you (remember that one Don Daleoni); yesssssssssssssssss I saw you flirting Daleo. Ma’s right, you are such a big tease.
Your book Ma was in the Newspaper yesterday. Apparently ten million copies sold and there is a baby boom because of it. I may have to buy it solely for research purposes you understand.
I heard you mentioning how much you love the Pilates machine Ma. If I had one I would be on it all day, LITERALLY, as once I got on it I wouldn’t be able to get off; it’s too low for my poor joints.
Do you think D is gradually giving us the big E Ma?
Don Daleoni, have a wonderful holiday. Bet he’s off to Sicily!!
Happy reading everyone. Lovely photo of the lovely Toby. xxxxxx

You could be right there Gail, but not about D giving us the big E, at least I hope not! D, R U giving us the big E? I 1 2 know Mr T! (There could be a whole new language in that!!)
No, I mean about D’s whereabouts Gail ……. Sisilly ………. or maybe Sillyppines!! Though I reckon he’s more likely in Argenteaser!!!! But, don’t cry for him G, he’ll be back soon!! In the meantime, that research project should keep you going!
    Love M

Ma, you is funny. I think we should take a trip to the Scilly Isles; we’d b quite at ‘ome there (if you can tear yourself away from that book of course). Unless you’re going to Ma………jorca of course!!
We’re all going on a summer holiday
No more working for a week or two
We’re all going on a summer holiday
And Daleo you can come tooooooooooooooooooo,

    Evening G. TGIF!
Wonder how D’s getting on. D’ya think he’s a speedos or shorts man?!
You must be joking misses. Mind you, if you will “carry on” with your midnight galavanting with the Fox!! Yes G, your boasting did not go unnoticed!! You wouldn’t catch me doing that ….. say for instance if I’d been to a royal garden party or anything!!
Are you still house hunting G? Forget ‘room for a pony’, just make sure you get somewhere with a playroom! Get on with that research and all will be revealed …….. literally!!
Speaking of which, I’m off to “carry on” with ‘Fifty’.
    C Ya!

    L O M, L O D,
You sure that Fifty Shades of Grey isn’t a book about our weather M? I went into Smiths to buy a copy and came out with two cook books – SHOULD’VE GONE TO SPECSAVERS!!
Haven’t u heard M, I’m moving in with Ali Young. Those horses and dogs M, did u c em? I’m Ali’s newest best friend; those horses M, I’m in loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
This is GP for the RAC, BBC, TSV, QVC, HGV, SBC, WC saying over and out, FOR NOW X

LOL G! Never mind the specs, you need a hearing aid Mrs P. ‘Fifty Shades’ is not a book about Cooking!!!
Arf me last comment’s gone AWOL. Is it me or have the blog police got stricter?! I think I must be giving someone a big headache! Must try harder with me Ps and Qs!
Ali Young’s place looks fab doesn’t it. Love the horses and the dogs, though I’m not sure I’d make it out of the bathroom with all those goodies in there!!!!
    Big hugs

    Hi Dale
I hope you are well and the new set is looking great. Many moons ago I did my work experience at QVC in the Marco Polo building and it is amazing how much QVC has grown.
On a wider note, someone I met recently represents home shopping channels and did a talk about how home shopping channels innovate sooner than regular channels which is so true! In fact, I wrote a story about QVC’s 3D trials on my blog.
I notice you do a lot of the AV shows Dale and I hope you don’t mind me asking but what is the procedure to be considered for guest presenting? I run a very well read blog about 3D technology and have spoken at several events about 3D TV, Blu-ray, cinema etc. It would be great to audition for one of your AV shows, especially if you ever intended to do a 3D special (especially with the BBC doing a two year trial and Sky 3D going free for the next several weeks). Would you be able to share any advice?
    Thanks Dale!

I telephoned technicians branch and they can not help. Yet there was lots of talk on this computer about a piano being on it. Help! Can you please help me
