Summers are for…

Lovely to be back with you all after a refreshing trip away, genuinely it is. Now we’re on the brink of summer, it means we are half way through the year so I’d like to revisit my New Year’s Resolution of practicing yoga and let you know it’s going really well. So well that my holiday I’ve just returned from was planned around yoga – well, that and food.

Yoga and food

I was lucky enough to do yoga in some of the most spectacular settings; a platform over the sea, a cliff top and a lemon grove. I really have made it an integral part of my everyday life and I’m improving by the week. I’m edging ever closer to that elusive Dragonfly pose that I’m aiming for (see below) which currently ends in a splattered mess on the floor but my challenge is to master it before the year is out (and provide photographic evidence). For anyone who’s still not tried yoga I would still highly recommend it no matter what level you start at.

The Dragonfly pose

So if the mornings were taken up with yoga, then the rest of the day was usually a foodathon! My friends and I had a long lazy lunch every day and it was all simply delicious, mostly the meals were very good indeed and usually in a beach side restaurant. Ibiza is developing a reputation as a foodie’s paradise these days, attracting jetsetters from all over the world. Perhaps not protocol for fine dining but in one particular restaurant the waiter placed a duck dish I’d ordered in front of me and a quacked twice as he did so, rather random and quite a crowd pleaser!

Delicious food

The afternoons were spent on different beaches lazing on sun loungers under umbrellas with legs doused in UltrasunGlimmer SPF20. Well it was that way until Craig Rowe showed up and brought two full days of cloud with him, nevertheless we still had some good fun.

Holiday fun

Roll on the next holiday, I’ve nothing booked yet but a few ideas up my sleeve. Any recommendations always welcome.

Your holiday looked like so much fun and relaxation at the same time I can’t do yoga anymore due to disability but I was starting out in it back in 2011 and I enjoyed it especially before a gym workout as it loosened up all my muscles and relaxed me both physically and mentally and then my workout became enjoyable. All that food looked scrummy and vast I don’t know how you and your friends stayed so slim lol!!!! Good luck with the elusive dragonfly pose I wouldn’t even have bothered thinking about trying that one I was definitely an intermediate. Finally I just like to say its lovely to have you back on our screens since your illness I have really missed you and really enjoy your shows I cant understand those who bitch about you on certain pages but I’m pleased you seem to let it all go over your head and not so your upset I don’t know if you are upset but please don’t just ignore them lots of live Emily xx

Hi Chloe sounds fantastic glad Craig was able to join the fun!! My perseption of Ibiza wasn’t an ideal enviroment for practicing yoga, but you have changed that. I have a chronic health condition and began practicing light yoga at the end of last year, Where was the holiday destination? the food aspect appeals to me too! Glad you had a super time.

Ahh May I’m really glad you love reading my blogs, it makes them worth writing. I try to keep life as exciting as possible and will keep you posted to keep that smile on your face. Xx

Emily, that’s for the support. It’s great to be back and in full flow again. I’m very aware I can’t be everyone’s cup of tea and I can only be me. I’m having a blast and I love my job, I’m really pleased I’m interesting enough for people to want to write about me good or bad! Keep watching xxx
