I hope all’s well as usual
It looks like summer is really getting it’s act together finally (wait… didn’t I say that last blog?) anyway I’m hopeful for some really nice weather this year – not because of any weather forecasts I’ve read but – simply because for the first time in umpteen years Richard Jackson hasn’t promised me a record summer of sunshine! Every year he has predicted a heatwave the summer has been a washout! I know he works on the premise that eventually he’ll get it right, but he hasn’t mentioned the weather to me so far and that’s as good as hoping your seaweed stays dry!
Please remember to don your Ultrasun as I do when out walking the dogs or gardening – I’ve tried to make it part of the ‘getting ready” ritual – I do slip up occasionally though! My formula of choice is the Sport SPF30 but the lovely Abi Cleeve from Ultrasun has recently got me using the Face SPF30 as well – can’t recommend it enough!
Getting back to my pal Richard, who has for some years now been offering his amazing Flower Power plant food. Like so many I’m a huge fan of the Flower Power branded products and I’m often asked by Richard to try out new formulas for him – as fate would have it Richard launched this month’s Garden Pick of the Month and I haven’t yet had a chance to try it out!
It’s a highly concentrated liquid version of Flower Power and also includes a hose spray head bottle and NO P&P! 300ml of the concentrate in the hose sprayer is the equivalent coverage of 10 watering cans!
On the subject of Photos – I’m a big fan of BBC TV’s Springwatch and I thought I’d share this photo of a rare Leucistic Red Kite, where most of it’s red and brown pigment hasn’t developed – I’ve included a photo of what most Red Kites look like taken at the same time and place in Wales last month.
Th’s week I’m back on Lunchtime Show and Morning Show ‘duty’ so I’ll make sure to get up early to give my face a good ironing 😉 – joke alert and don’t try that at home !
Until next time stay sun-protected and well-watered …
