Welcome to this week’s blog! I hope you’ve had a great week. I’ve had quite a busy one again. I had a few extra shifts at work as we presenters are dropping like flies so you’ve been seeing more than usual of me. I’m off now until Monday so, no doubt, I’ll have my lurgy then! I’ve actually been feeling it coming on. Boo hiss to summer colds!
As well as working I have managed to squeeze in some time with my son and daughter. To be fair, Tom lives with me so we do get time together but it’s rare for the three musketeers to all be in the same place at the same time. Chrissie’s based in Bristol as she is studying music at uni there but makes it back home when she can.
I don’t post photos or talk about Tom much on my social as he prefers me not to. He’s more of a private soul. Having said that, he, like Chrissie, is a musician and they’ve both been playing lots of gigs this summer. Tom’s just arrived home from playing at the Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival in Inverness, Scotland. I played the flute for a very short while in school but, apart from a kazoo, I don’t play any musical instruments so I’m in awe of their creative talents. Singing and songwriting seems to have come so naturally to them both.
Chrissie returned home last week to see us. Two of our Directors at QVC, Christian and Marie, are getting married this month and they had a joint hen and stag do with their QVC chums. Nothing too debauched, just a big gang of friends out for a night in our wonderful capital. Chrissie previously worked at QVC as a Director’s Assistant so we share that same group of friends. I decided to book a hotel with a pool for us (I got a brilliant last-minute deal) so we could not just enjoy the night out but also have the whole of the next day together. We had a fantastic night with our chums. We were all having too much fun and not many photos were taken so I’ll just have reveal Christian and Marie once they are Mr & Mrs in a future blog.
I am a proud owner of an iPhone X and I love the quality of photos I’m getting using it. The photo below was taken whilst I was waiting for my train to meet up with the pals and my girl. I was really pleased with how it turned out.
Here are some other photos of our day together at the hotel. We were so lucky that we had the hotel pool facilities all to ourselves. We swam about like little water babies for about two hours! It was so relaxing.
We also went in the ‘saunarium’ which was also relaxing but the pool was our favourite.
On our overnighter in London we both had our Kipling suitcases and I had my latest Kipling bag. I didn’t think at the time to take a photo, unfortunately, but here’s our own Marie-Françoise to tell you more:
They are so very versatile and last for years. If you haven’t had a look at today’s Kipling TSV I’d advise you to get in quick! The Kipling bags I own most of are the small, crossbody bags and that’s what today’s is! So useful, so practical and really gorgeous in design, too!
Once we returned home my son decided he wanted to cook us a vegan bangers and mash, who were we to refuse? It was blooming delicious! So good I had to take a photo. He often adds things to mash such as mustard, onions or garlic. We had a peppery garlic mash and delicious gravy. We all have a love of great food. We’ve always enjoyed time together over a meal whether it’s dining out or making a meal from scratch at home. They’ve both turned out to be rather good cooks! Thank you for stopping by and remember there’s a new blog every Wednesday! Have a great week.
Love Catherine x
