Handsome BradWell in case you missed it, I've already posted a load of wonderful pics and moments from my son Brad’s wedding last week. Go here if you missed it!  The happy couple are currently in the Cook Islands enjoying the honeymoon of a lifetime (Hopefully!) lol.

What a gorgeous groom – just had to say thanks to everyone who posted lovely comments following Monday’s blog about Brad’s wedding! If you missed it, do go read it – it went up on here on Monday! And this is one of the best pics I’ve seen of him – during his fitting – he’s so lovely! Very proud of my boy.

I made him! Lol!

Zip picOne of the things brought up in the best man’s speech was the fact that at the age of just 16, my boy patented the idea for an answerphone doorbell. Well, this article caught my eye this week – a fascinating list in the newspaper of some of the 20th century’s top gadgets and when they were invented.

Thing is, some of the dates really surprised me! Who’d have thought, for instance, that the Casio Digital Watch was in 1957! Or the internet was actually 1969 (whereas the World Wide Web was 1989)?

So here’s a little quiz – and as we say on the Saturday Night show – ‘don’t phone, it’s just for fun!’ Guess the year the following were invented –

a) Bose noise cancelling headphones
b) The smoke detector
c) The teasmade
d) Twitter

Have a guess! And then look at the P.S. below to see if you were right!

Debbies's goody bag giveawayAs promised last week, here’s the competition to win the goodie bag I got given at the lovely Breast Cancer Care luncheon last week.

The Reluctant BrideBook of the Week – Finally, as promised, it’s here! This weekend only – Fri 11th – Mon 12th – you can download to your Kindle for FREE, the fab raunchy regency novella – The Reluctant Bride by new author Claire Firth

The debut of another of our Tuscany posse, this is a really well-written ‘Regency Undone’ as they call them! A bit of steaminess from the 1700’s!

Claire’s been reluctant for ages to finally let it go and upload it, but she’s finally perfected it and it’s really rather raunchy! It’s the result of many years of writing many novels, as you may be able to tell from her very fluent writing style.

Having discovered she’s got quite a talent for raunch, she’s created a fab Novella (about half the length of a normal romance novel, so it’s a speedy read!) about a lord who takes a bride – literally – and how she gradually comes round to his needs… Good story behind it too tho’. Give it a go. I gave it a fab 5 stars!! Click here to get it on Amazon.

(nb you can get the kindle app for free if you don’t have an actual kindle, or buy one from us, item  504326

Hawaiian Countdown continues – the fab reviews continue for my own first novel on Amazon – thank HA PGyou so much! Currently 149 out of 171 are an amazing 5 stars (across all the options!). And here’s one of the latest –

Amazon Review –

Downloaded this to my IPad, (not done this before!) was going to take it on holiday with me later in the month, but curiosity got the better of me!! what a great read, like most other people I couldn't put it down, needed to know what was going to happen next!!

Thought I had the plot all sorted, and knew who the bad guys were, but how wrong could I have been, won't say anything in case others are reading reviews first before they commit to buying the book!! Get cracking with the next one Debbie……..”

Another little update – and this week, little Pirate – the kitten who lost a paw at birth – finally learned how to go up stairs despite being tentative when coming back down again! He’s really doing well isn’t he?!

Pirate with a pirateYvette, his foster mum says he loves people, especially Josh and his mum Katrina – who is one of the volunteers who looked after Pirate when he was first found and stayed up many a night to feed him every two hours, and nursed him back from death’s door. And now he’s so cute!

Yvette says this –

‘Pirate has also learnt to pull himself up on the sofa and the bed and is behaving like a proper kitten now, keeping us awake most of the night and then sleeping all day.  He still struggles to drink from the bowl, but it is getting better too.
Pirate the kitten milky mouthHe went to the vet last week for his first vaccinations. He has been seeing the same female vet since he came into rescue and everyone knows him down there – even though he hisses at everyone (apart from me and my husband) when they pick him up. We're not sure why he's doing it or even where he learnt it from, but sure he will outgrow it at some point! ;)’

Hi yes saw that ruining movie on Twitter, did a few of my own too, like The Place Beyond The Porcupines, Rear View Mirror, The Rotten Apple Core. Not sure if I should mention it here also, Who’s That Call Girl? ha, to name but a few.
So Hawaiian Prize is definitely the title of your book or will you be changing it. I somehow got the urge to say ‘Ticket to Paradise’ for some reason. Didn’t get a chance to leave a comment on the wedding blog, but it was great looking at the photos. A very happy occasion. Haven’t been to a wedding in ages!
Would love to enter your giveaway for my aunt if that’s okay, was trying to get her to comment but she’s new to tech! Aren’t we all! Still will try and persuade her to have a go anyway. xxx

Just wanted to let you know that I read Hawaiian Affair (steamy version) before leaving for my holiday to Seattle and Big Island, Hawaii. I got so engrossed with the story that I couldn’t put it down until I had read it all.
I am currently sitting in our condominium in Kona, Hawaii writing this comment. I cannot believe the technology which now enables someone halfway across the world to watch QVC from London on an IPad mini or even an iPod. I have watched QVC from the outset and have enjoyed the last 6months of celebrations. I hope to watch the Breast Cancer event on Wednesday live on my iPad but we are 11 hours behind you so it will be 7am here!! Anyway please enter me in your draw for the goody bag and I’m back in the UK on Saturday. Looking forward to getting your next novel in November.

I have thoroughly enjoyed ready your thread, you are such a bubbly person. I bet you were so proud at your sons wedding. My son got married 2yrs ago and I away so proud, I couldn’t stop grinning at my son and his wife they looked amazing. Just like yours did !!!! Oh that is a beautiful kitten, it’s amazing how they adapt. I have 1 springer spaniel who was a rescue dog, didn’t have a good start in the life the poor thing. She now acts like lady of the manor lol, we also have a cocker spaniel who we got when she was 7 weeks old and now they play together all day. I love all animals, I even have a cat from across our road that’s the neighbours come and visit lol. I am going on amazon to order your book, I was going to do it when it first came out but I had 6 books waiting to be read and then got some off mum and by then totally forgot to order it. So thank you very much for the reminder. Take care and hope all your family are well and fingers crossed that I might be picked for your goodie bag.

Excellent BCC show. I’m mad on Kipling & bought he Breast Cancer Care bag. I’ve also purchased the Alison Keenan pendant which I look forward to receiving. I have lost friends & family to breast cancer, but I have also got friends who have beaten it due to the advanced treatment now available. You, your co presenters and guests do a brilliant job every year raising money for the charity. The way the show is presented makes viewers want to buy the products!

    Hi Debbie
I absolutely, thoroughly and wholeheartedly loved your book! I finished it this morning and have to say that I was choked at the end (in a good way, lol!). Mac and Sadie make a great couple and I was really happy that he broke his rule. Cant wait for the next. I will pop over to Amazon now and leave a review. Thanks again.
    Christine 🙂

Hi Debbie x I always loves your blogs and the passion that you put into them 🙂 Bradley’s wedding looked gorgeous and you looked amazing in your couture 🙂 I watched breast cancer care as I do every year and this years was particularly moving with the lovely Ali and of course the loss of the beautiful Amica. I still miss seeing her and course the gorgeous Beaulah on air – such a cruel disease in every form that no family seems to escape from unscathed x We purchased a number of items on the night for gifts and so on we also bought the Jonathan and Charlotte cd – what amazing voices x I’d love to you enter your giveaway x lots of love xx
