COMING DOWN AFTER THE BIG DAY…
Well in case you missed it, I've already posted a load of wonderful pics and moments from my son Brad’s wedding last week. Go here if you missed it! The happy couple are currently in the Cook Islands enjoying the honeymoon of a lifetime (Hopefully!) lol.
What a gorgeous groom – just had to say thanks to everyone who posted lovely comments following Monday’s blog about Brad’s wedding! If you missed it, do go read it – it went up on here on Monday! And this is one of the best pics I’ve seen of him – during his fitting – he’s so lovely! Very proud of my boy.
I made him! Lol!
AS ‘THE ZIP’ TURNS 100 yrs OLD, OTHER TOP INVENTIONS FROM THE LAST CENTURY
One of the things brought up in the best man’s speech was the fact that at the age of just 16, my boy patented the idea for an answerphone doorbell. Well, this article caught my eye this week – a fascinating list in the newspaper of some of the 20th century’s top gadgets and when they were invented.
Thing is, some of the dates really surprised me! Who’d have thought, for instance, that the Casio Digital Watch was in 1957! Or the internet was actually 1969 (whereas the World Wide Web was 1989)?
So here’s a little quiz – and as we say on the Saturday Night show – ‘don’t phone, it’s just for fun!’ Guess the year the following were invented –
a) Bose noise cancelling headphones
b) The smoke detector
c) The teasmade
Have a guess! And then look at the P.S. below to see if you were right!
It contains some smashing little freebie giveaways from companies sponsoring the event, as well as some names you’ll recognise!
Just leave your name below and if you’re randomly chosen from all those comments as the winner, you’ll be notified and the lucky person will be announced in next week’s blog!

READ IT WRITE IT SELL IT –RiWiSi – My Weekly Look at All Things Book!
Book of the Week – Finally, as promised, it’s here! This weekend only – Fri 11th – Mon 12th – you can download to your Kindle for FREE, the fab raunchy regency novella – The Reluctant Bride by new author Claire Firth.
The debut of another of our Tuscany posse, this is a really well-written ‘Regency Undone’ as they call them! A bit of steaminess from the 1700’s!
Claire’s been reluctant for ages to finally let it go and upload it, but she’s finally perfected it and it’s really rather raunchy! It’s the result of many years of writing many novels, as you may be able to tell from her very fluent writing style.
Having discovered she’s got quite a talent for raunch, she’s created a fab Novella (about half the length of a normal romance novel, so it’s a speedy read!) about a lord who takes a bride – literally – and how she gradually comes round to his needs… Good story behind it too tho’. Give it a go. I gave it a fab 5 stars!! Click here to get it on Amazon.
(nb you can get the kindle app for free if you don’t have an actual kindle, or buy one from us, item 504326)
Hawaiian Countdown continues – the fab reviews continue for my own first novel on Amazon – thank you so much! Currently 149 out of 171 are an amazing 5 stars (across all the options!). And here’s one of the latest –
Amazon Review –
“Downloaded this to my IPad, (not done this before!) was going to take it on holiday with me later in the month, but curiosity got the better of me!! what a great read, like most other people I couldn't put it down, needed to know what was going to happen next!!
Thought I had the plot all sorted, and knew who the bad guys were, but how wrong could I have been, won't say anything in case others are reading reviews first before they commit to buying the book!! Get cracking with the next one Debbie……..”
**Countdown – Hawaiian Affair in Paperback, PG Version – 1 WEEK (MID OCT)
**Countdown – NEW NOVEL – Hawaiian Prize – paperback/eBook – 5 WEEKS (end Nov)

SNIPPETS – PART FOUR – PIRATE THE TRIPAWD KITTEN
Another little update – and this week, little Pirate – the kitten who lost a paw at birth – finally learned how to go up stairs despite being tentative when coming back down again! He’s really doing well isn’t he?!
Yvette, his foster mum says he loves people, especially Josh and his mum Katrina – who is one of the volunteers who looked after Pirate when he was first found and stayed up many a night to feed him every two hours, and nursed him back from death’s door. And now he’s so cute!
Yvette says this –
‘Pirate has also learnt to pull himself up on the sofa and the bed and is behaving like a proper kitten now, keeping us awake most of the night and then sleeping all day. He still struggles to drink from the bowl, but it is getting better too.
He went to the vet last week for his first vaccinations. He has been seeing the same female vet since he came into rescue and everyone knows him down there – even though he hisses at everyone (apart from me and my husband) when they pick him up. We're not sure why he's doing it or even where he learnt it from, but sure he will outgrow it at some point! ;)’
More next week…

- P.S Catherine’s play – Ali K, Deb G and I are almost certainly going on Tuesday 6th November probably – and it’s Baron’s Court Theatre, near Chiswick, not Sloane Square (der!) lol. See last week’s (Friday) blog for details of Catherine’s actressy outing!
