Hello to you and thanks for dropping by my blog again.
April is firmly here and in our household this is a busy time. We have family visiting, gardening to do, big birthdays happening which mean Big parties and presents to be bought….I also find this time of year is when we start to emerge from the our winter cocoons and energy levels rise which feels great after what can be a slow cold Feb/March. I also love that it’s lighter later and that the blossom is coming out on the trees.
It is of course Easter round the corner too and so many people are on Easter holidays. We have been talking a lot about holidays recently here at QVC. We even have a Holiday Shop sale online. I do love a good sale and even more a good bargain! It may not feel quite like shorts weather yet but before we know it it’ll be time to reach for the Ultrasun. I must admit I have started using some self tan by Tan Luxe. I just thought it’s time to warm up my blue Celtic skin and feel a little more human. It does make a difference I think when you feel good about your skin or hair and I do think it can make you feel a bit more confident even just for a day.
I’ve taken this photo of a lineup of products that Elliot and I (mainly me) use daily. We are very lucky in our jobs here that we get to try a wide range of fantastic skin and beauty care and for a while now I’ve been using these ones. Elemis Smart Cleanse Micellar Water, Gatineau Floracil Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover, Perricone Face Finishing Moisturiser and Multi-Action Overnight Treatment. I do swap about if I’m honest and I alternate my day cream with one of my new faves and it’s the rescue complex tinted day dream from Bareminerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Gel Cream. I love it as I generally tend not to wear foundation when I’m not at work so this is perfect for giving a glow, covering uneven skin colour and being a great moisturiser too! Elliot really likes Elemis Time for Men Daily Moisture Boost and Ultrasun Sun Protection Anti-Pigmentation Face SPF 50+.
More recently I’ve been trying out a shampoo from Philip Kingsley which I’ve found to leave my hair so clean and free from any sense of weight from built up product. I do like to use a good shampoo as I’ve coloured my hair and had a balayage for so long it’s the least I can do to say sorry to it! I often post what I use and if I try something new in my Insta @eilidhnairntv. I’ve also introduced my mum to lots of brands she didn’t know about before and she loves to use Prai which is particularly interesting to women with mature skin. We have a very good Beauty Big Deal this week for Prai Perhaps you too haven’t heard about it and want to try something new. My mum found she noticed the fine and more deep set lines around her eyes appeared to have reduced when using the Prai Radiant Gemstone Caviar Triple Matrixyl Eye Serum.
Now the bit about fashion.
I love summer fashion. 2019 is full of colour, prints, flowing skirts, militarily-inspired tops and trousers and exciting shoes. In the past if I loved a pair of heeled boots or shoes I’d wear them, even if they killed my feet. I’ve been known to wear six inch heels for hours just because I loved the 80’s style. Zoom forward a few years and I still love a great shoe but comfort is pretty high up on the list of priorities – is that age or wisdom?
Many of you know how much I love my shoes and I only wear shoes on air that I champion. In fact I haven’t bought a pair of shoes anywhere other than QVC for a very, very long time. We have exceptional shoe designs here. Check them out for yourselves and then let’s remember that 30-day money back guarantee. So if you like me love shoes and a deal then this week’s Big Deal on the Style Channel has got your name on it – especially if you like a wedge and animal print.
Drum roll please….
The Peter Kaiser snake print wedge! This wedge is glorious and comes in red, black or gold suede.
It makes a great alternative to heels and is stylish enough to wear in the evening due to its high end snake print finish. I think they would also look excellent with a wide leg trouser like these from Ben de Lisi or these Wide Leg Palazzo Trousers from Coco Bianco.
I’m going to finish up now as my mum is coming over and we are putting together a tasty menu for Elliot’s birthday meal. I mentioned at the top of the blog a big birthday happening… by the next time I write cakes will have been baked, a party will have taken place and a special mile stone for this wonderful man will have been reached.
