Hello everyone! I hope you are all well and haven’t been blown away by the stormy winds! Been a bit brisk hasn’t it?! We went away with friends this weekend to Wittering and safe to say the walks along the beach weren’t as relaxing as we’d hoped, with the gale force winds in our faces! It was so windy, in fact, that it was blowing Monty’s jowels which really made me laugh – I managed to snap a pic for you to giggle at too.
It was four of us, five dogs and a one year old, which might sound stressful to many but was actually a really lovely long weekend.
We’d never been to Wittering before and it’s a lovely little place. We did a lot of eating and dog cuddling so, as you can imagine, I was VERY happy. Monty had his first real taste of the sea as a grown-up dog. We went to Cornwall when he was very small and it was all a bit too cold for him but this time he loved charging around in the sea. Our friends’ four dogs are Boston Terriers, so it was all a little too cold for them and they were shivering! Here’s a photo of all five of them begging for scraps in the kitchen – naughty pups!!
Today it is feeling a lot brighter and, dare I say it, more spring-like, despite the chill – I love a crisp morning when the sun is shining and while I wasn’t on the beach, Monty and I enjoyed our walk very much. As the weather turns, perhaps you are thinking of how to update your wardrobe – I mean, I’m always thinking about it to be honest! I’ve recently got a few new pieces from QVC’s spring fashion lines and I wanted to share two of my faves here on the blog. There will be more to come and there’s even new brands around, but here are a couple of our well-loved names.
First up, a cardigan. I LOVE a cardigan and am rarely seen without one. They are a real staple piece in my wardrobe as I’m often too hot for jumpers – there’s just more ventilation from a cardi! This particular one is from Isaac Mizrahi Live and I had to have it as soon as I saw it – polka dots!! I went for navy and red, but you can also get this in a classic black and white polka print. It’s a cosy, thicker knot that’s edge to edge with pockets in the side. I’ve teamed it with indigo jeans and a navy roll neck so the red really pops but there are so many ways you can wear it. I think it will brighten up your office dresses and would look great with a white shirt and pencil skirt too.
As you can see, I grabbed Pearl, my Mum and Dad’s Labrador, when I was wearing this to take a couple of snaps. She wasn’t overly pleased about it and if you look closely you can spot an old fig that had fallen off my parent’s tree in her mouth! On a side note, we are keeping our fingers crossed that Pearl is harbouring some puppies in that tummy of hers but we aren’t sure yet – I will keep you updated! As for the Cardigan, I know its going to be a real favourite of mine and if you love it too, hop over to the website to make sure you get your size.
The second piece I want to show you is from Helene Berman and no, it isn’t a coat! I LOVE the coats and jackets we have from Helene at QVC and now I have this fab skirt too! It is lightweight so you can wear it with opaque tights now but it will be lovely and cool through into summer too. The leopard print trend isn’t going anywhere, so this pleated number is going to see you right for a long time to come. As a serial “tucker-inner” I really like the thick, black waistband as it gives clean lines and smooths any layers underneath. I’ve paired it with a black cotton top, black tights and my fave Geox heeled ankle boots. I think this look could be perfect for daytime or a meal out but you pop some glossy tights and heels on, maybe a tailored jacket and you’re ready to party the night away! That’s a bit much for me right now with my cold, so I’m sticking to drinking tea.
Whilst we are on the subject of fashion, I also have to mention Ben de Lisi, who I have had a couple of shows with this week both on Style and Live. It is so great that we can have such a renowned designer with us, bringing us stylish capsule collections. This was my outfit for our first show – the Ella jumper, inspired by Ben’s first Frenchie and the sequin pencil skirt, which is on my lust list now! The sequin T-shirts behind me are part of the range too and I have the fuchsia one – it’s comfy and sparkly, what more could you want?!
Ben de Lisi is also bringing us The Big Deal on Style this week too, with this Ripple Knit Contrast Trim Kimono Sleeve Sweater. The colours are inspired by retro Formica tables, which is really fun and they are lovely hues. I think it’s an easy shape and style to wear. Have a look at the video on the web to see some styling inspiration – you’ll see it styled casually and also in a ready-to-work way, so you can see its versatility. Proving very popular already, so if you love it make sure you don’t miss out.
The Beauty Big Deal this week is from Taya and it is a 3 Piece Coco Water Set, for those of you who would like to both hydrate and volumise your hair. It’s a complete haircare regime and the mist can even be used on your skin too. If you love the idea of incorporating more natural ingredients into your routine, this will be a good choice because of its use of coconut as a main ingredient.
Lastly, we have the Triforce Everglades Python Embossed Cabin and Vanity Case – the perfect stylish duo for all your trips, whether it be an overnight stay or a long-haul flight. I like that the cases look so sleek and modern – no more boring black fabric, and there’s lots of handy compartments etc to keep things organised. If you were looking to update your cabin size luggage, at this price, this is a deal not to miss in my opinion!
That’s it for this week, thanks for reading. Keep watching QVC this week for more fashion, as it is our fashion week – we have a lot of new styles to offer. I’ll be with you on Friday and Saturday but before then, I get to try on my wedding dress, as it has arrived! Eek!
I’ll be blogging again in a fortnight, but you can keep up with me on social media until then.
See you soon,
