Hello Everyone! I hope you are all well and keeping warm. We had snow here the other day and apparently there is more on the way. Monty dog went mad in it, which was tricky as he’s just had a minor operation and was not supposed to be running round! I had to tempt him back in with gravy bones but he certainly did some mad running around for a few minutes! He’s been for a check up today and we’ve just a couple more days before he can be let off the lead again. He’s not been allowed on proper walks for a full week and is not impressed at all. I have to say I am missing a good long morning walk too – it really blows away the cobwebs and I feel much more sluggish without it. As you can see here, Monty was not to be beaten by the cone of shame and fought with it until it broke!
Now, within QVC there are lots of exciting things coming up, including a new show that I will be bringing you on QVC Style. It is going to be a Discover Gemstones show, where I will be focusing on the birthstone for the month. The first show is on 6th February at 3pm and will be all about February’s birthstone – amethyst! For those of you that don’t know, I am an Accredited Jewellery Professional, trained by the Gemmological Institute of America and I have been working with jewellery for years. My Dad is a jeweller too, so I have loved jewellery and gemstones since I can remember. This all means I am really excited to bring this new show to you and have a really good chat about amethysts – they are a real favourite of mine and I have several amethyst pieces in my collection. Here’s a photo of Lawrence at a wedding a couple of years ago – if you look closely, you can see my amethyst earrings; my dad made them for me and they are a real favourite in my collection.
During the show, I’m hoping to share some knowledge, as well as show you some of the beautiful pieces QVC has to offer, so I do hope you can join me for that! If you have any questions about the gem then pop them below in the comments for this blog and I’ll do my best to get them answered.
I also want to speak to you about something else that is coming up next week and that it our Today’s Special Value for Tuesday 5th February. It is going to be a fab set of five reading glasses, which includes a pair of bi-focal sunglasses. The patterns are lovely and if you are someone who reaches for the reading glasses then these are a lovely way to wear them. I have the print selection and, as you can see, they are all fun styles. I like this idea because it means when you go out for dinner and need to read a menu or you’re out with family and get asked to look at a text/photo etc, you can have a pair of readers on hand to help you that look fun and stylish – there’s definitely a pair to match every outfit!
I showed my Mum the sunglasses and she was amazed. “What a great idea,” she said, “perfect for when I’m sitting in the passenger seat of the car and I want to look at my phone.” They have the small magnification section at the bottom of the lens so you can use them like normal sunglasses and then if you need to read something, just look though the lower half – no need to switch glasses! I know it seems a long way off now, but they’ll be perfect for summer – I’m thinking reading menus whilst eating al fresco in Italy sort of thing, or perhaps reading your new novel on the beach! Okay okay, what about your magazine in the garden?! They’ll be great because you won’t get that horrible glare of the page and have to squint.
There is also a tortoiseshell set if you don’t fancy the patterns and you get a soft case for each pair of reading glasses, a hard one for the sunglasses and a cleaning cloth. These are great to put one in every room too, if you always forget yours, or maybe one in your handbag, one in the car, one by your bed etc. The magnification strength goes from 1.0 to 3.5, so you can have the right ones for you. If you’re unsure, here is the suggested strength for certain age groups:
Under 45: 1.0
65+ : 3.5
Of course, you have your 30 day money back guarantee, so you can always try them out if you are unsure. It goes without saying that the prices will be great as they are a Today’s Special Value, so make sure you’re watching to get your preferred colour and strength. My Mum is setting an alarm, that’s for sure!
Speaking of great prices, we of course have the Big Deals for this week. Let’s start with Style shall we? It’s MarlaWynne’s Ripple Stitch Tunic Shirt, which comes in a variety of colours – although the Pear and a couple of others are already selling out in certain sizes. Marla’s shirts are always very popular, especially amongst ladies with bigger busts who thought they couldn’t wear shirts – no gape here! It has to be said, she is very good at creating pieces that suit all shapes and sizes, so if you haven’t tried one of her shirts yet, then why not try this one whilst it’s at such a great price?
The beauty Big Deal is great to try a brand that is fairly new to us here at QVC and that is MZ Skin. The bundle on offer for the Big Deal price is a Germanium Roller, Eye Masks and some of the company’s much-lauded eye complex cream. Have a watch of the video on the website and it will give you loads of information on why this is such a great combo and you can learn more about the creator, who is chatting with Miceal there.
Our last Big Deal is two pairs of Platinum Orthotic Insoles from WalkFit. I know lots of people who swear by insoles or those who would like to try them, so if that’s you then seize you chance whilst they are reduced in price! All the offers end at Midnight on Sunday remember.
That’s it from me for now – thanks for reading and I hope you have a great couple of weeks until the next blog. I’m next on your screens at QVC this coming Thursday and Friday on both Style and Live with a mix of jewellery and fashion – lovely! I do hope you can join me for some shows.
See you soon,
