Hello! I hope you’ve been keeping well since my last blog. So, October has arrived and I’ve been trying to get the house sorted. During the school hols it deteriorated into chaos, so I’ve been trying to tackle jobs and get back on top of it all.
I decided to paint my hall – again! Yes I’m obsessed! But I think I’ve finally settled on a colour I’m happy with. It was quite a big job to do all three floors, but I really enjoyed it. I popped on an audio book and I actually find it relaxing. Scott thinks I’m mad!
The other job that needed doing was the de-mothing! We have had moths for four years, and I’m slowly winning. These lavender-scented wardrobe sachets from Lakeland are brilliant. They don’t stain your clothes, there’s no nasty moth ball scent. If you have any cashmere jumpers or silks, then you need these! You also get drawer sachets, which can be used anywhere, even if you’ve stored items in the vacuum seal bags. I have a loft full of these with all the old kids clothes. This set is fantastic value.
We’ve had a good clear out in the kitchen too, and I’ve invested in a new recycling bin, which I’m in love with. A while back I blogged about the Joseph Joseph Compactor bin, which we love. You do need strong liners for it though, but it looks great and holds loads. Well I also fell in love with their Totem!
This is a bin that can be used in various ways. You can use the top half for your rubbish and the bottom for recycling. I use the whole thing for recycling and it’s great. For me I love that I clean it out without having to stick my head right in the bottom! The caddies just lift out, so really easy to carry to the wheelie bins outside.
An amazing house warming gift for someone, perfect for someone stuck for space, or for the person who doesn’t like to have a full bin in the house all the time, and prefers to empty more regularly. As we do our recycling, we love it!
As it’s getting damper and colder, I’m also noticing more dog smell in the house. Ewww. If it’s the same at yours then have a look at these Woodwick candles. I like the minis. They smell incredible and I love the simple packaging and gentle crackle you get when they’re lit.
Whilst looking after the house is important, it’s also good to treat your self too. I’m in love with these sterling silver star Diamonique studs that come in a Father Christmas gift box. I would wear them and find something else to gift in the box!
I also love the Boho Betty new magnet bracelet. My faves are the Tan and the Grey. I’m also treating myself here…
But you’ll have to wait a few weeks to find out what I was up to.
If you’re after some deals, then check out our Big Deals. This week they’re the Pretty You London Laurel Slipper Bootie, the OPI six-piece infinity shine Autumn/Winter Collection and the Mia Tui Eleanor shoulder and clutch bag set.
And don’t forget we are now live on Style seven days a week, from 3-7pm! Woo hoo!
We have had two exciting bits of news at home, one is that Izzy is on the school council, which is just too cute!
And Josh has started eating vegetables, although he’s not that happy about it! As a child who would only eat beige food that was probably breaded and cooked in the oven for 20 mins this is a big breakthrough!
Right I must get to the supermarket, the cupboards are bare, and they are ravenous after school!
Lots of love
