Something old, something new, something borrowed and something Blue…

Before you get the wrong idea this is nothing to do with wedding plans, haha! Let me explain…

Something old:

Sorry Mum, but it worked as a catchy title! It was my mum’s 80th birthday on the 16th of this month. She had friends and family from all over come to celebrate with her over two weeks. Despite my hectic schedule I was able to join in and really enjoyed her being made such a fuss of. She loved every minute, too!

Our family, like so many these days, is very spread out. My brother Mike and his wife, Christine, live in Oregon in the United States. Years pass so quickly in between seeing each other; it had been about 14 years since we last saw each other in person! Seeing them was a highlight of the celebrations, and we squeezed in as much time as we could together.

My brother has worked in construction for years, so he and Christine insisted on helping me with my house build whilst they were visiting! Such an amazingly kind thing to do. I’m very lucky indeed.

On to something new…

PicMonkey Collage 3

I have been fortunate enough to get my hands on Friday’s Diamonique Today’s Special Value and some gorgeous matching pieces to try and report back on. Well, they have received so many compliments both on and off air! The earrings are beautifully fluid; I’ve been wearing the yellow gold and I feel it looks like liquid gold suspending a diamond. Of course, it’s not a real diamond but it sure gets the attention of one! Do look out for them and place your order early as I just know they’ll be very popular.

something borrowed 1Something borrowed:

Many of you already know I recently overhauled my life, including getting healthy and losing weight thanks to the Body Rescue Plan by Christianne Wolff (if not, please browse back through my previous blog posts). Well, she came along to the QVC Beauty Bash and left her sweatshirt there, so asked if I could pick it up for her. I did and put it in the boot of my car, where I promptly forgot about it until yesterday.

I was soooo cold as I had forgotten my coat, and so I popped it on when I found it. Wow – it’s super comfy! I’ve told Christianne she needs to bring her clothing range to us, and  confessed to having ‘borrowed’ it – she told me to keep it! I kept it on all night with my fluffy jimjams and felt warm as toast. Can’t wait to see her back at QVC. Keep me up to date with your progress if you’re following the plan, too.

selfie with lee ryan 1Finally, something Blue!

Boyband Blue are back and they came to QVC to perform tracks from their new album. Jackie had the pleasure of interviewing them, while I had the pleasure of sneaking a couple of piccies with them. They really impressed us with their singing live, especially as it was quite early in the morning when voices can be a tad temperamental. They were all lovely, bubbly, professional and just a pleasure to work with. Come back soon, Blue!

So that’s my old, new, borrowed and blue theme. I must just also mention that I have the very enviable job of launching Triple Day next Tuesday, which kicks off with the bareMinerals seven-piece Today’s Special Value offer! Tune in at midnight on Monday 2nd March and all day Tuesday 3rd to see some cracking offers – all on three Easy Payments!

Kathryn – you have inspired me to start the Body Rescue Plan – I’m on day 5 now and so far so good – feeling a lot better for it although I struggle at times. Please can you tell me if I’m allowed to eat beetroot as I cannot find it listed anywhere int he book.

    Hi Catherine,
Glad your Mum had a lovely birthday, she certainly looked as if she was going to enjoy her cake. It must have been great to see your Brother and his Wife after such a long time.

How is the house coming along, you won’t know yourself when it is all finished and you can move in.

Sweatshirt does look nice and warm.

Glad you had a great time meeting Blue, love the photo.

You take care and don’t work to hard. How are your gorgeous cat’s.?
    Love Jean xx

Hi Catherine, I saw you last month on QVC and you said you had been on the Body Rescue Plan and I thought WOW you look great. So I decided there an then to order the book from QVC and have been on the Plan for 3 weeks now, and have lost 9 lbs, the most I have lost in years. Thank you for the inspiration. I find it helps to read the book daily, as it then keeps me on track. Thanks for the inspiration.

    Hello lovely Twinkle!

I’ve been so busy I’ve only just looked on here to reply to everyone. I hope today is one of the more positive ones for you. The sun is shining where I am, although I’m looking out at it from inside the hairdressers, shame. Still, nice to know its there!

    Chat soon, sweet lady.

    Dearest MM,

I’m so sorry I haven’t replied until now! Forgive me. I hope you’ve now discovered beetroot is fine. All fruit and vegetables are. As you are online I’d recommend following Christianne Wolff on twitter and Facebook if you’re on there as she is very good at getting back to people if you have any queries.

Hope you’re getting on great with it! Well done for taking up the challenge! So worth it.

    Hi MW,

Thank you so much for your very kind words and sincere apologies for the massive delay in my replying! I’ve been crazy busy and have just seen the comments here.

The Body Rescue Plan book is available from us here at QVC. I believe Christianne is back on air in the morning show on the 2nd of April so look out for her and give our hairs and girls in Liverpool a call on 0800 50 40 30 if you can’t find it on our website.

Here’s hoping you’ve got some of the glorious sunshine that’s outside the window where I am today. Looks like spring is springing!

    Hello lovely Jean,

Thanks for your kind comments. Yes, my mum did enjoy her celebrations (and the cake was fabulous).

The house is coming along slowly as I can’t be there working on it when I’m at work but progress is being made. I ache all over but it’s all going to be worth it.

The cats are great. My wonderful mum is looking after them at her house until mine is finished. I can’t thank her enough for that. I never realised it would be taking so long but there have been some unexpected issues along the way so we just have to roll with it and keep on going. Really can’t wait to have them in our new home. It’s hard but I know they’re happy with mum and I visit lots.

I hope you are keeping well and happy, Jean. So good of you to take time out to write.

    Love Catherine x
