So how was it for you???

Well back to it now, kids back to school, tan fading, and shops starting to fill their displays with all things pertaining to that great event at the end of the year. Goodness… where on earth did the time go? Must be an age thing.

Anyway how was it for you? All honest opinions welcome please. What did you think of the Jubilee? The Olympics? The weather, your holidays and anything else you may well want to discuss??

Me? Despite the madness as always chez Dawson, I loved the summer. My son was in the opening ceremony of the Olympics (the industrial revolution bit) so obviously I'm completely biased about that (5 of us sat round my iPhone in Italy trying to spot him 🙂 ) Great excitement!!

Italy was as fabio as ever, with all the family. Actually managed to get off somewhere different with the youngest as well this year. Just him and me in Athens for a few days. Frequented some very upmarket restaurants, me and the 15 year old – it was great fun.

Of course the downside to all of this "posh nosh" is that I did pile on a few pounds. But I'm sure when you look at the photos (which will follow shortly) you will indeed agree with me that it was just a tad too tempting. No worries though, back into Zumba with a vengeance. Got my niece's wedding coming up at the end of next month, so will have to sort it all out by then.

Let me know how your summer went!

lots of love,

Anne xxx

Ps. will post pics soon!

    Hi Anne!
So glad to hear from you! You’re really one of my favs truly! You just have such fun about you and so love your style. You have such a lovely healthy glow about you so the hol in Italy and Athens with the youngest has agreed with you lol. What an amazing thing to be able to say your son was in the Olympic ceremony! My Mum was one of the thousands of volunteers! Very proud! Did the Olympics and the Paras. Loved it as did I. All very well done and super organised! You must be proud of Andy Murray as well! What a year for the Scots! Loved the Jubilee too. Lovely to see so many Royals there for the Olympics too. Hope the BIG year goes ok in your house – your youngest will have GCSE’s? And please post pics of the wedding!!!
See you on Zumba…you still look slim to me!

    Hey Susan,
I reckon I could find you a little corner in my house. You’d be very comfy and whenever I was feeling a tad low, out you’d come with all these wonderful inspiring compliments and positivity!!!
What a joy you are. Thank you.
Well done to your mum being one of the volunteers. I’m really pleased they got a special mention at the closing ceremony.
Indeed, big 12 month period approaching in the Dawson household. Jon’s gcse’s starting and of course only a few weeks till Louise’s wedding!! (stepping up my Zumba schedule as we speak).
Love the fact that you haven’t noticed the extra pounds Susan………..but they are there! Trust me!
Stay in touch Susan, and thanks again for your lovely comments
    Lots of love

    Hi Anne
Had a great time watching the Olympics, the highlight for me was Andy Murray winning the gold medal and then I loved watching the US Open and I sat up till 2.45am to see Andy win his first grand slam. That truly made my summer

    Hi Anne,
I am more than happy to pay you the compliments because they’re true! I would LOVE a little corner in your house…maybe where the cat sat…above the wardrobe?? I hope you’re enjoying your Zumba at the minute. Picks you up doing the social classes doesn’t it? I much prefer to exercising on my own! I hope Jon is coping ok at the minute with the start of a big year. To be honest that was my least favourite year at school. Even A levels were ‘easier’ – said loosely – as I found at least I wasn’t studying for things I was no good at or didn’t like.
    Keep your joy coming Anne!
    Love Susan x
