Show success!

CassidyWell I did promise to let you know how my daughter’s show went and I can safely safe there was not a dry eye in the house! Cassidy, who is now 10, auditioned for Les Miserables earlier in the year for a really well respected youth theatre. She was so thrilled to be offered the part of young Cosette who gets a solo in the show!

She has always been very into her dancing but this is the first time she has done anything on the strength of her voice, so to be offered that part was a real achievement.

I did think that it was a huge undertaking for the directors to stage Les Mis with kids but I was totally overwhelmed. The other main characters were between 14 and 17 and were incredible. It’s platforms like this that show that Britain really does have real talent!

As predicted my husband was quite emotional and I had to promise him beforehand that she wasn’t one of the characters who dies in the show!

Cassidy did brilliantly, her version of ‘Castle on a Cloud’ was so heartfelt, and she looked so small on such a big stage. At the bows she got a standing ovation which was amazing and I was so pleased for her!

So all in all a huge success which I just wanted to share with you! Hope you like the photo.

Take care
