Seeing Cliff Richard live and this Friday’s Jewellery Day…

Cliff RichardThis has been a week sandwiched by two special events.

On Friday it's our spectacular Jewellery Day, an event dedicated to bringing you a wide selection of stunning designs from across our ranges of gem-set fine jewellery, gold, silver, fashion and designer pieces.

More of that in a moment – first, let me tell you about my weekend! Olley and I were lucky enough to be guests at Cliff Richard's wonderful open air concert at the Hampton Court Palace festival. Olley has taken the photographs for Sir Cliff's calendar for the last eight or so years, and they've just returned from Nashville with the pictures for 2014.

Cliff RichardCliff was there to record his next album which is covers of some of the greatest rock 'n' roll tracks ever – the album will be released towards the end of the year and will be titled the 'Fabulous Rock and Roll Songbook'. Hopefully, we can persuade Sir Cliff to join us on the Morning Show to entertain us with a couple of his favourite tracks from the album.

His S'till Reelin' and A-Rockin'' tour is off to Israel next month – last weekend was the British finale and it was brilliant. Hampton Court Palace is a magnificent venue – the stage was in a huge, square courtyard with about 3000 seats. We met Cliff for a drink before the concert (champagne for us, water for Cliff) and he told us that he had to limit the decibels as they were worried that if it was too loud and the windows might fall out!

The rock and roll theme meant that Cliff sang all his best up-beat songs, and also a few from the coming album. He had a fantastic backing group and there was so much energy – they didn't stop moving, dancing and singing for over 90 minutes – by the end the audience (average age well over 50 – I must have been one of the youngest!) was dancing in the aisles!!

Dancing with joy is what you may be doing when you see what we have in store for you on QVC on Friday. It's our Jewellery Day, and at 1pm I will be reviving a show from a few years back called Viva Las Vegas Gems – all the vibrancy and colour of the neon lights in this amazing oasis in the American desert is reflected in the glamorous, luxurious designer fine jewellery collection.

If you love gemstones then make sure you join me with John Peters, our knowledgable and 'passionate about gems' guest, who will be bringing unusual stones, special cuts and masterful designs for you to admire.

Earlier in the day, at 10am, it will be Amber Discoveries that I will be telling you about. Certified 40 million years old, this Baltic amber is gloriously warm and rich in colour, and we have some gorgeous designs. Mainly set in silver we have some in gold, and one piece – our first- in rose gold… it is my absolute favourite of the hour – you HAVE to see it!!

I hope you see much of what we have to offer you on Friday – we have huge plans to dazzle you with all the colour, sparkle and grandeur of our day of jewellery!

See you there, I hope…
