Saturday Night Gifts and more!

TobyHi to all readers of the blog of the fox – I hope life is treating you all well or as well as can be expected.

Debs Flint and I have been having great fun presenting our Saturday Night Gift Shows and it would appear from feedback received that so are many of our customers.

I know I speak for Deb when I say that I'd love to hear from you with your views on the shows – I promise we'll pass it on to the relevant parties here at The Q – is this a show format that you've found refreshing? Irritating? Please let me know, if you have a few moments to spare.

Last Saturday it was Dad Wedding Dancing for me during our presentation of the amazing Xbox 360 Kinnect and I know many found it amusing, except my daughter, who sent me a photo taken from the TV with the words 'Oh Dad!' She was only joking as I've been on QVC nearly 15 years and this is not the first time I've busted a few well chosen moves! Check out my Twitter @dalefranklintv for the photo.

I got a wonderful tasting of the great value TSV from Thorntons that I'm munching, sorry launching on Thursday into Friday this week – I have already had 1 or 12 when I was having photos taken for the web and I can confirm they are very, very good!

The photo is continuing the "Watching Dad" theme from last week – Toby still likes to be close to me when I'm on the telly, even now his all grown up!

Happy reading, watching and munching, not necessarily in that order!

Dale x

Oh no Dale ……. it’s the return of the terrible two!! (Hi Gail, poor Daleo, just when he thought it was safe …. lol!)
Sorry it’s been a while Dale but I’ve been through a rough time over the last few weeks coming to terms with the loss of our darling Suki in early October after 19 wonderful years. She was such a loving girl and we miss her terribly.
On a lighter note, I have to ‘fess up’ to being AWOL from The Q on a Saturday night at this time of year. I’m a massive ‘Strictly’ and Merlin’ fan you see. I’m really sorry to have missed your daft ….. I mean Dad dance. Ill have a go at finding it on twitter but I have to also fess to being a bit of a twit (careful!) when it comes to twitter! Saturday night aside, as usual, I’ve done quite a lot of my Christmas shopping on The Q and, in my view, you can’t beat it for inspiration, ease and value.
Tatty bye for now Dale and, if it’s ok with you, I’ll try not to leave it as long until next time.
Gail, are we doing alternative Christmas jingles again this year? Although I’m determined to behave and turn over a new fig leaf! xx

    Dear Dale Franklin,
What’s happened to your popular Sci-fi hours and Mens Fashion Hours on QVC? Don’t you, Julian Ballantyne, Charlie Brook and Craig Rowe find there’s not as much available for men on QVC Shopping Channel? I really liked Sci-fi Hours for its content – on Star Trek and Doctor Who. There hasn’t been a Trading Card or Comics hour for a while either, will they be returning soon to QVC? I liked that loud American Guest, who used to shout about the Comics and stuff on the Comicbook hours years ago?
Why are there not more Gents products on QVC? When the fashion hours come on QVC Shopping Channels, there are only a few products for men? Just Umbrellas and Watches… can QVC not bring more fashion for men that includes what’s available to Women on QVC… More Raincoats, Umbrellas, Watches, Jewellery, Boots and Hats and Scarves too for us men, We’re feeling left out? Boo Hoo!
    Kind Regards,
    John Rennie.

Glad to hear from you too D. I can safely put me bullet proof vest away now!!
Don’t you dare do any of them serious moves Dale; only Dad moves allowed. They are always the funniest and most entertaining. I’m sure your lovely daughter loves having a ‘fun’ Dad. I had a very fun Dad and I miss him every single day. I haven’t got even one serious movie clip of my wonderful Dad and I wouldn’t want it any other way.
Missed you on Saturday D, although the lovely Debs is always a joy to watch. I think Debs and yourself should put together a little Christmas routine for your last Gifts show. I know Debbie will be up for it.
Hi Ma, lots of love xx I was hoping you would come through (sounds like a seance, eh D). Talking of seances, I have something spooky to tell you Ma. I lost my beautiful cat ‘Frisky’ on 22/10. She was 22 and we had had her for 20 years. I know how you feel Ma. I lost my beautiful dog on Valentines Day this year and then my beautiful cat. My dog was 20 and we had had him for 17 years. We must be doing something right, eh D? I am down to one pet which is unheard of for me, but illness prevents me at the moment from getting any more; shame because it’s what I do best. I know how you feel Ma, lol xx
I was thinking of a 2012 ‘Singalonga Dale’ Christmas special Ma, but I need inspiration. Any ideas D and M? Do you have any preferances D?
Oh dear, I’m all sad now remembering all my lovely pets and my lovely Dad soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo I’m orf xxx

    Hi Gail.
22 eh, that’s really something. I know how you feel, the more you love em and all that! I also just have Casper now (aka ‘my little tiger’) who is needing loads of TLC at the moment at all hours of the day and night! xx
    Hi John
Totally agree with you. More mens stuff I say starting with boxer shorts and speedos! Oh dear, I’m orf again already! x

Nina – I wasn’t aware you spoke over me? Anyway I’ll never fault a guest for being enthusiastic about their product – in your case incredibly tasty ones – My faves were the Salt and Cracked Pepper Cashews ! Dale x

Hi John, Yes I do miss some of the shows you mentioned – the guy you were referring to was Nic Barrucci and he was a real character. Also do you remember the collectables with Darren Epstein. I hope they return to the Q one day, but you are right the vast majority of our shows are geared towards a female audience, as we cater for what our customers respond to. I’ll happily pass your comments on, Good to hear from you. Dale.

Hi Gail and Marian, Good to hear from you both again ! Debbie and I are due to present the last Saturday Nights Gift Show together – perhaps there’ll be a Christmas sing song, or a dance routine! Debs won’t be able to do a Dad Dance though! let’s wait and see ! There’s also a chance that Toby will make an appearance before Christmas ! Sorry to hear of your pet news Girls, it’s always a horrible time. But we keep coming back for more, as the joy of living with them just outweighs the sorrow of losing them – You’ve got me at it now Gail ! Hope you can both enjoy the best health possible Dale xx

Phew, thought we’d lost you there for a mo D (again). Loved the show last night; that Charlie has quite a sense of humour; totally on the same page as him re the bugs in the celebrity jungle show (nice one Charlie). Am looking forward to the last Christmas Gift show; so hope Toby makes an appearance as he’s such a sweetie. Thanks for comments re our pets; lovely way of putting it D. Ma, DON’T EVER BE A QUITTER. Come back Ma, you’ ve got a Christmas sing song to compose. Stay warm and happy, lol Gail xx.
