Ruth Langsford talks jewellery

We’re pretty sure most of you out there love a bit of sparkle, we do too! We caught up with our Brand Ambassador Ruth Langsford to talk all things jewellery, find out a bit more about what Ruth likes, plus reveal some pieces from our range that she has her eye on…

QG: What’s your personal style when it comes to jewellery?

RL: Well I’m not a huge jewellery person and I don’t really own lots of it, and apart from a couple of personal pieces like my engagement and wedding rings and a nice watch, I wear mostly costume jewellery. I like pendant-style necklaces, and if anyone follows me on Instagram, they’ll know when I’m casually dressed I’ve always got something like that on, as it really dresses up a T-shirt or a plain jumper.

At QVC, Frank Usher jewellery has definitely caught my eye – I always thought that this was more eveningwear, but since coming to QVC I’ve seen all the other things they do from hats and gloves to bags and scarves too. I’ve also used two Frank Usher pieces in my show this series, so it’s becoming quite a favourite – like this long circle necklace, which has an almost leather-look ‘chain’.

QG: Do you have a favourite piece of jewellery that you own?

RL: Yes my eternity ring, which Eamonn bought me years ago. He was actually planning to buy me a watch for Christmas and we had gone to this beautiful jewellers in Belfast. While we were there, he asked to look at their eternity rings and I remember feeling quite embarrassed because I didn’t know he was going to do that! I always wear it along with my wedding and engagement rings. I never take them off, not even at night.

Tell us about some of the pieces you’ve liked from our range

RL: I do like these (Frank Usher Heart Pendant Necklace and Layered Cube Necklace) and I think they would look great worn over a simple T-shirt or top. I don’t like necklaces to be too long, and these are adjustable so they’re good for layering too.

RL: This Dreamcatcher Necklace and Ring from Thomas Sabo are a nice boho-style, which though I might not wear on an everyday basis, I could see myself wearing on holiday with a maxi dress.

RL: This Thomas Sabo set of earrings and a necklace would look great with my white jumper and trousers look – or any monochrome outfit.
