Earlier this week I received an email from Andrew Bagley from Gatineau. It appeared to be just a PDF of the brochure for this year’s Henley Regatta – for a minute I got quite excited as I thought Andrew was extending an invitation to attend – but then I read the one line email:

‘Check out the couple on page three!’

I had to laugh! The official photographer had captured a shot of Andrew and my daughter Sophie walking along the path together and used it in the brochure – take a look at the photo above. The really funny thing is that they were not there together and ran in to each other by chance for a maximum of five minutes! Just goes to to show though, you never know who may be watching!

Mentioning Andrew, if you love Gatineau they are the featured Today’s Special Value during our next Beauty Day on Sunday 24th April. Unfortunately, I won’t be in that day as I will be at Wembley watching Crystal Palace take on Watford in the FA Cup semi-final… come on you Eagles!

Focus on Fashion this week has to draw your attention to the great Kipling bag that is featuring at midnight tonight and kicking off our Easter Weekend on QVC.

It’s available in a choice of plain colours along with prints and is a really good size, with two big compartments either side of the main compartment. Join Marie-Francoise and myself tomorrow at 2pm and 5pm if you can’t wait up until midnight tonight, although some of the colour options may well sell out early.

More fashion to watch out for over the weekend is by Susan Graver. In the early days of QVC UK, Susan herself used to visit. However such is the popularity of her range in America, where she has fixed weekly shows on QVC US on a Sunday and a Thursday, now we don’t get to see her that often. Fortunately, we have an expert UK-based guest in the form of Lesley Ebbetts to give us all the information and styling tips we need.

There is a lovely drapey cardigan to watch out for in a choice of six colours – the Kiwi Green or the Brilliant Blue will be perfect for spring and summer. There is also a LOGO by Lori Goldstein Today’s Special on Tuesday 29th – I still wear my red and cream striped top with the lace trim at least once a week!

Well as I mentioned, I am on air tomorrow – Good Friday – but I am off for the rest of Easter. If you are too and have a little time on your hands to read a couple of books, check my webpage for the link to be able to purchase the Kindle version of my novels for just 99p each instead of £2.99.

It’s an Easter promotion so you could say: ‘Eggstra, Eggstra! Read all about Holly, Harry, Philippe and co!’

If you get them this weekend, you should just about be ready for book three by the end of May. I have started working on the cover this week and should be able to share it with you in a couple of weeks’ time.

Have a great Easter weekend, whatever you have planned, and enjoy your chocolate eggs – I’m hoping for Lindt Excellence, fingers crossed – and hot cross buns!

After tomorrow, I’m not on-air until next Thursday when my hours will be 2pm with Kim & Co and 4pm with Liz Earle (can you believe it’s the 20th anniversary? – I wonder how many of you remember the colour of the original packaging?)

Much love
Julia xx

Have a really lovely Easter yourself Julia. And enjoy your Lindt chocolate which I am sure you will receive. Is it possible for me to download your first book at all. The one about your own life story as I really would like to read that book you have written. I have tried to get the book itself but haven’t had much luck being able to get it from anywhere. You have always been my favourite presenter on QVC and I watch it all the time and have been with them 15 years now. Its almost as if you have all become part of a little family to me. As I am disabled and cant get out much. I do hope I will be able to find your book somewhere eventually as I think you are an amazing lady and so honest and down to earth. You are an inspiration to others as well. Anyway take care and have a really lovely Easter Julia. Don’t eat too much chocolate. And fingers crossed for the Eagles in their next game. All my love Rebecca xxx

      Hi Rebecca
You are right, I did get my Lindt Excellence Easter egg and surprisingly there is still a little of it left – not bad considering that is the only one I had!
Thank you for all your lovely comments. One Hundred Lengths of the Pool is out of print now but you can buy the ebook of it on Amazon. If you type in the title in the search box it should take you straight to the page – I hope you will enjoy it, it is quite different from my novels.
Thanks for your good wishes for Crystal Palace – we have some vitally important league games before our trip to Wembley for the FA Cup semi final.
      Keep in touch

Well have a very happy happy Easter Julia!! Enjoy your chocs, and your a star for always remembering to put your on air hours on your blog. I do always appreciate it. Yes it’s me again who moaned about TV guide not posting presenters on it. Have a nice few days off. Look forward to seeing you on air as always.

      Hi Julie
Hope you had a lovely Easter – it was nice to be off for most of it particularly as we had my son home for a few days.
I don’t mind putting my hours on here, the only problem is that they are subject to change due to sickness. As an example, I am now doing the Lunchtime Show tomorrow with Miceal as well as my scheduled hours – hope you can watch!

    Hi Julia,
Like the photograph of Sophie and Andrew, they both look very smart.

Yes I went for the beige in the Kipling bag, my daughter went for the green and yellow, she said they will go well with her yellow sandals, a Clarks TSV the other day, I agree.

Been some lovely fashion on lately. I must admit I do love Yong Kim, and Kim and Co.

Looking forward to your third book.

Enjoy your time off, plus your Easter Egg or Eggs and Hot Cross Buns.

    Take Care

    Love Jean Xx

      Hi Jean
Just the one Easter egg for me and I only had one hot cross bun too – shame really as I really like them!
I hope you’ve had your Kipling TSV? I think it is a really good sized bag – couldn’t believe how easily I could put all my stuff in it live on air!
Book three is coming along nicely – loving the look of the cover again. Will put it on here soon.
I’m with Kim tomorrow at 2pm

    Hi Julia,
Hope you enjoy your Easter break. The weather is still quite chilly but at least we’ve had some long overdue sunshine.
I really enjoy the fashion on QVC but really wish there were more long sleeve garments. I like wearing wraps and ponchos, but don’t like bare arms when wearing something underneath that only has 3/4 sleeves. I’ll be on the lookout for something special to wear later in the year as we have our old hospital reunion. Our beloved General Hospital was torn down and replaced with a new one. It has very fond memories for a lot of us who trained there as it was a fantastic place to work where everyone knew each other. Sometimes change isn’t always for the better!
Well , don’t eat too many Easter Eggs!
All the best, Tina S x

      Hi Tina
I didn’t have too many Easter eggs, just the one, although I did have a Lindt chocolate bunny too – just a small one!
A lot of the Yong Kim tops have full length sleeves – I always pull them up to three quarter length!
It’s sunny here in Berkshire today but as you say not that warm and we have had quite a bit of rain again over Easter.
      Speak soon

I remember Liz Earle’s original packaging I have some somewhere. It was white with peach coloured labels. In fact I preferred that to the present day blue. Too much like Estee Lauder ugh!!

I also still have a peach coloured lizard skin beauty case which the products came in. She used to include bags with her products, I have loads!!

Wish we still saw Liz on air demonstrating her products.

    Happy 20th Birthday!!

      Hi Sue
You are spot on with the Liz Earle packaging, and I think the lizard effect beauty case was the first ever TSV wasn’t it? Liz is guesting some of the 20th anniversary shows – I think I’m on with her tomorrow afternoon at 4pm, although I must say I also love working with Caroline, she is a lovely lady and very knowledgeable about the products.
Hope you’ve caught some of the anniversary shows

Hi Julia Roberts, yes I remember the Liz Earle original pink packaging. I first saw the lovely Liz on QVC in 1995. I was pregnant with my third child, Will. He will be 21 in November this yr. My skin was topsy turvey through my pregnancy. And Liz ‘s cleanse & polish, instant boost skin tonic & dry/ sensitive moisturiser made such a difference. I have been a devotee of her products ever since. Think back then there was only the 3 products ? Also I think it would be nice to maybe have a special edition of an item in the pink , as a 21 st anniversary. Very retro looking, from what I remember ? Here’s hoping you get this email personally Julia x

      Hi Sally
How great to hear that you have been a devotee of Liz Earle from the beginning – she only set her company up 21 years ago so you really were one of the first to try it.
There were four products in the first show on QVC, which I presented as it happens: cleanse & polish, instant boost, skin repair (in just two options) and eyebright. There’s a much bigger range now of course.
Hope you’re enjoying the anniversary shows

hope you dont mind me asking julia has sophie any luck of ahouse or flat yet she sems to be having not much luck

    • Julia Roberts March 30, 2016 at 11:20 am -  Reply

      Hi Martin,
It’s a long story! She had an offer accepted on a flat last summer but during the conveyancing it showed up that the lease had not been extended properly. She waited for this to be done and then the vendor raised the price by almost £14,000 to cover his costs! Outrageous!
Soooo… she offered on something else and hopefully will exchange in the next couple of weeks.
      Thanks for asking

      Hi Sue,
So pleased you enjoyed my books and thanks to your son for buying them for you – I think you also did an Amazon review? Thank you so much, it is really appreciated.
I think you will like book three as some of it is set in and around Nottingham – due out towards end of May.
I remember Mr. Whippy ice cream but I don’t remember coloured ones.

    Hi Julia
Sorry it’s been a while, we’ve been busy with the decorating! All done now though and just waiting for a new carpet fitting. We’re delighted with the new wardrobes.
Sophie looks gorgeous in that photo Andrew doesn’t look half bad either!
Looking forward to the Elemis TSV on 10th April. Sounds very exciting. Have you had a sample of the Biotec products?
I hope you got your Lindt egg and hot cross buns! I got two eggs, chocolate is most definitely a weakness of mine. Well we all have to have some vices!
Did you see Chris and myself on the gardening promos? Love to know what you thought.

      Hi Marion,
Yes I have had a sample of the Biotec products but haven’t tried them yet as my skin has been a bit sensitive but going to give them a go this coming week – will let you know how I get on.
How funny that Sophie & Andrew were ‘snapped’ together – as I said in the blog, you never know who’s watching!
Glad you’re happy with your new wardrobes – we finally got rid of the spiral staircase this week and the new stairs are in …. hooray!
I missed you on the gardening promo (sorry, head down writing) – is it on again? I have a 3 hour gardening show with Richard coming up soon.
Check my new blog for a funny picture of Milo

As it happens we are planning to go to Javea for my birthday in June – we’ll have to meet up for a cocktail on the Arenal.
