Raising the roof funds…in Devon plus a Magnitone deal

Singing in Sheepwash raising funds for the Church roof – again!

Well one of the busiest weeks of my year is almost over, as I sit here with doggies relaxing at my feet, cramming as many Christmas card signatures into my remaining hours before I leave Devon to spend yuletide with my family in London. (Thankfully there are people staying here or looking after the doggies so the place will be in good hands.)

On Tuesday I had a super wreath making workshop in the village hall with several lovely local ladies and Heather from Church Park Flowers, who let me make a second one to put on dad’s grave.

Then in the evening, it was time to raise the roof in order to fix it, in the biggest church in Sheepwash when my singing partner Barry ‘the singing Devon County councillor’ Parsons and I held another singalong. It was packed – even more than the August one we did, and we raised over £640 in one night.

I took pleasure in providing the mulled wine and mince pies at the interval and we got even more donations for that, and it was very nice to see everyone having a nice chat – the atmosphere was fabulous.

The next day we had our final tearooms event of the year, this time in aid of a national medical charity. I tagged my ‘ladies catch up’ on to the end of it and once again it was lovely to see everyone, and exchange some gifts and have a banter. I got given several presents which I put under and on my Alison Cork tree in my sitting room. But I couldn’t wait till I come back after Christmas so I had a lovely time opening them all the night before I left!

Considering we are still able to dispatch in time for Christmas (almost every single one of our parcels will be there in time, so give it a go!)

This weekend’s highlights

Today/Friday (14th) – the LAB Life + Beauty Lift Pro girls are back with a MASK version of their famous technologies and it looks like it’s going down a storm. It lets you choose several treatment modes, and one that cycles between all modes without you having to move a muscle. Great idea and fabulous Christmas gift for someone who’s always unhappy with what they see in the mirror.

Saturday Bareminerals return and bring us a super six-piece Holiday Make-Up Gift Collection – but the great news is, you can see it and buy it now – click this link here to have a first look before it launches tonight at midnight.

Sunday Lulu Time Bomb is here all day with a superb value skincare set the Get the Glow collection, for an amazing price, considering what you get!

Sunday midnight launch – I’m really looking forward to top makeup artist Paul Herrington being back with us for the Magnitone Today’s Special Value – which is not a cleanser, it’s new powered make-up brush for the best ever finish and an airbrushed look for your make-up this Christmas. It also comes with extras, including one of those effective make-up remover cloths with microfibre. If you want to try it, don’t forget you have a 30 day money back guarantee and if it’s for Christmas, which lasts till 25th January – that’s a lot of makeovers!

Big deals

These great offers only last a week and are shown on our sister channels – but don’t delay, the offers end at midnight on Sunday 16th December. There’s a six-piece Skin Nourishing Top to Toe Elemis Collection, and if you like a bit of sparkle, there as real diamond tennis bracelet to check out. If you prefer more practical offers then try the eco-conscious umbrella and case, made of recycled plastic bottle from Grant Barnett. Go here to see them all and buy now.

See below for the rest of next week’s great offers

Doggies Loving Russel’s faux fire

Whilst writing cards (and blogs!) my lovely Labradors joined me to enjoy my new fire. I really love that it’s got a thermostat – it clicks itself on and off to keep it at the right temperature – really cosy with that lovely flickering light too. Really good reviews, and clever technology. Go here to get it if you’d like one too!

Happy Christmas Crew!

Each December, all of us presenters put together to provide a pizza pressie to our lovely crews – to all the support staff helping things run smoothly behind the scenes, and this week it all happened! I was happy to organise it all, Anne collected the money, Jackie and Kathy and Dale went along to be with everyone, Craigy and Julia delivered the extra gifts for those not at the lunch, Jilly wrote labels to go on the gifts and everyone contributed! What a nice place to be, is QVC.

Floods Ahoy

Another downpour, and finally the river Torridge broke its banks last week – whilst yet again I was away from Devon and missed it all! Not that I’d have liked it much if I wanted to get somewhere fast. But that sense of drama unites people doesn’t it – even only in trying to work out a way out of Sheepwash!

Book of the Week

Heard a wonderful audiobook being advertised this week which I can’t wait to listen to – War of the Worlds – an audio drama, on Audible on Amazon. One of my favourite new actors, Taryn Egerton stars, and it sounds brilliant. Michael Sheen and Ade Edmonson also narrate. Check it out! Btw I haven’t done a book blog on my own website for a couple of weeks due to all that’s been going on – but I’ll put that right as soon as I’m able – i.e., as soon as I’ve finished all the Christmas cards! lol

Watch – Fantastic Beasts, Spiderman, the Grinch… so many to choose from in the cinema. My pick this week, if I can cram a film in, would be Fantastic Beasts: the Crimes of Grindelwald. The early days of some of Harry Potter’s teachers continue, as Newt Scamander works with Dumbledore to help fight Grindelwald, as the powerful wizard escapes custody and they must stop him! Tons of fab effects, and am looking forward to seeing Jonny Depp in a starring role – he’s so good in things like this, although I don’t know if he’d ever top Jack Sparrow the Pirate of the Caribbean!

This week’s highlights

Monday – as above the super Magnitone cosmetic brush and accessories – so good as a gift for someone who loves their make-up. Also watch out for the Liz Earle TSV going on sale on early bird order link too!

Tuesday – Honora’s annual offering arrives – a two-piece earring and pendant set this time, individually boxed and very, very affordable – a great pressie to split up and give to the same person from two different kids, or one in the morning and one in the night etc!

Wednesday – Liz Earle four-piece collection might solve a few of those last minute beauty conundrums – available from Monday if not before.

Thursday – Perfect Formula arrive with the seven-piece set – one of the best ways to stock up in this treatment and colour range, perfectly packaged too.

Friday – Denim and Co. with a heavenly jersey round neckline midi dress in a warm fabric, and a great price.

Next week on the blog… another super busy one! With Christmas gifts able to be ordered right up until 20th , you can still rely on QVC to get your gifts given – ask for them to be sent direct if it’s easier! Plus, a big week for my sis – her birthday celebrations over a couple of days; plus a day out with my beautiful grandbaby Blake and her cousins, my nieces Lara and Izzy, and finally the presenter lunch on 18th – busy, busy, busy!

Best wishes
