I hope all’s well…
I’ve taken this week off to do a bit around the house and metaphorically speaking take a deep breath before the Christmas rush at The Q – always our busiest time of the year by far.
I started off with good intentions by demolishing an old wooden playhouse, that once Ali and Jack outgrew became our garden shed. Unfortunately it had started to rot from the ground up and every year it got a little bit shorter. I kept patching it up to keep it watertight but eventually we decided to replace it with a new shed.
Unfortunately, as I write it hasn’t stopped raining and that makes erecting the new shed right now a non-starter. Hopefully I’ll get it sorted before winter sets in. Of course, I’ve still been on plenty of dog walks and this short video shot on my iPhone shows a spider’s web highlighted by the rain – nature can be so beautiful even when it’s raining!
I was genuinely thrilled the other day when I learned that I was featured in one of the questions on ITV’s The Chase! The question that the brilliant Bradley Walsh asked was; “Dale Franklin and Alison Young are presenters on which TV shopping channel?” – I was made up! Like so many, I’ve been a fan of the show for years.
I hope you’ve enjoyed the Andi Peters’ Food Fest Specials we’ve been presenting and our series continues at its more familiar time of 7pm this coming Monday (22nd).
We’ll be featuring the Today’s Special Value (TSV) of the day from Churchill’s Confectionery, which gives you a choice of Biscuit Tin Duos in either 50’s Hollywood Glamour Ladies or Christmas Snowglobes.
The Glamour Ladies tins are named Ava, which contains 300g of Salted Caramel & Chocolate Chunk cookies (brand new flavour, currently just for QVC customers) and Rita, filled with 300g of White Chocolate & Raspberry biscuits.
The Snowglobes option contains 225g Christmas Spice Shortbread Petticoats (brand new flavour currently just for QVC Customers) and 225g Shortbread Christmas Trees.
There’s also an Auto Delivery option with two further deliveries every 50 days. The first additional will be duplicate tins of your first choice with different biscuits, the second additional (third total) will feature two spring-themed tins.
Churchill’s are renowned for their beautifully designed tins and always research their subjects thoroughly to obtain authenticity, this is particularly evident in the Ava and Rita tins.
Whichever choice you make, they make great gifts for a teacher or to be given at Christmas, or simply to enjoy them yourself. The biscuits are made from Churchill’s own recipe and Andi Peters assures me they’re great for dunking!
Whilst I do include photos in my blogs – I post many, many more on my social media accounts. I’d love it if you followed me on Instagram or Twitter – @dalefranklinTV and joined in the fun, last week I went behind the scenes at The Q and I plan to do a lot more of that in coming weeks.
Until next time…
