QVC Style Live – Your own personal stylist/shopper

With so much fabulous fashion on offer here at QVC we’re extremely excited to announce that from Monday 10th October, for next 10 weeks, QVC Style will be going LIVE every weekday at 4pm for an hour. That’s 50 live hours packed full of fashion!  We can barely contain ourselves!  You’ll be getting sneak previews of new items before they’ve gone to air on our sister channel along with access to our expert stylists who will be giving you great fashion hints and tips.

Additionally we’ve teamed up with Will Gowing and the lovely Katie Powell, a Fashion Expert on QVC and personal stylist and shopper behind The Wardrobe Insider [], one of London’s leading Personal Styling agencies for our weekly ‘Style Your Wardrobe’ show.

We’ll start the show with a Facebook live chat so get in touch with Will on his Facebook page as he will be reading out your fashion dilemmas live on air and Katie will be on hand to help you maximise the clothes in your wardrobe, give you stylish inspiration on new outfit ideas and round up the biggest trends for the coming season.

To give you a little teaser of what is in store we wanted to share some behind the scenes imagery and a video of one of the looks we recently filmed with Katie.  Here is what Katie had to say about the inspiration behind how to Style Your Winter Wardrobe:

“Hurrah ladies, the winter season is finally upon us and that means getting our new season wardrobes in top shape so we are ready for any occasion.  When it comes to picking my favourite season from a styling perspective, it has got to be winter; you can use so many more pieces in one outfit which means ultimate cost per wear and have lots of fun with cosy knits, luxurious textures and beautiful tailored coats.”

“So it’s good news when it comes to this season’s instalment of Style Your Wardrobe as we have all of that and a lot, lot more.  Within our looks featured in the show, I wanted to give you the stylish lowdown of all the trends to look out for but also those key areas in fashion that we can sometimes find tricky but would love to perfect.  As a personal stylist and shopper, I am always hearing real life style dilemmas and requirements from everyday women so I always try to infuse a lot of these into the show and make sure that we all feel as confident as possible with trying new style ideas every season.”

“Let’s take our ‘Capsule’ Wardrobe’ look as an example – this is the one area of our wardrobes that I find women fall down on.  We are sometimes so focused on buying those wow, ‘Oh my gosh, where did you buy that from’ pieces that we forget those wardrobe heroes that help us build full outfits and connect the colour, the trend and the print.  In this look, I show you some of the amazing staples that QVC has to offer in this area, including a very stylish jacket from Label Lab which will go with so much and some grey jeans which are a Capsule favourite – they create a different look to your indigo and black and are a must-have for winter.”

“As we are talking of must-haves, how about trying the new shade for the winter season which is all things purple and especially violet.  Totally unique from anything we have seen for a few years, this is a shade to have fun with and feel really confident in.  I wanted to show you this sugary shade head to toe as it can be a tricky one to pull off and then at the other end of the spectrum I have picked a really wearable Marble sweater that totally ticks the trend box but is super comfy at the same time.”

“Now if you’re looking for a fancy update to your winter coat, then look no further, as this winter is all about the cape and the designers at QVC have totally treated us to a gorgeous array of shapes, textures and colours.  I couldn’t resist the tonal option from Centigrade that comes in camel, navy and grey and is one of the first pieces from their new collection following their very, stylish brand make-over.  But if it’s a more opulent, glamorous effect you want to achieve with this style, then check out Frank Usher’s fur trimmed cape which is totally beautiful and completely makes an outfit.  How exciting!

But the total excitement of this show came into play when we styled our first set of party outfits in the ‘Party Squad’ look.  The winter season wouldn’t be the same without picking that special dress to help us get ready for that sparkly occasion, whether it is Christmas day, festive drinks or New Year’s Eve.  I am obsessed with the lace t-shirt dress in one of these looks; it’s by C Wonder and is all-over black lace – incredibly striking and good news, you can team it with tights, leggings or textured trousers.  Sequins, sparkles and velvet are fab but give lace a go as it can look really edgy or really elegant, depending on the shape and the accessories that you choose.  As always ladies, have fun this season and be sure to try something new as it’s often then that we discover our new favourite!

If that’s not whet your appetite yet, every week our team of stylists will put together a ‘Look of the Week’ using a selection of QVC Fashion Brands to showcase the very best fashion here on QVC Style.  Don’t worry if you happen to miss our ‘Look of the Week’ you can find it on our YouTube Channel where we’ll be adding a new look every week!

So whether you’d like to improve your current style, are looking for advice on how to take your current look from day to night or would like to learn how to dress for your body shape tune in to QVC Style weekdays at 4pm. We’d love you to join us!
