Pick of the palettes

Hi all,

Well with time marching on and Christmas fast approaching, I thought I would dedicate my next few blogs to solving some of those present buying dilemmas.

I love Christmas and always put a lot of thought into the gifts I buy, and try to get organised as much as possible to avoid that mad rush towards the end. So some careful planning is definitely key, but you also need to be quite decisive as if you think about things for too long, you run the risk of missing out on some of your first choices.

So I thought I’d start with a really hard category to buy for and that’s the dreaded teens! My daughter is coming up to 15 now and gone are the days that I could get away with buying little bits of girlie makeup.

These teenage girls really know their stuff and with the social media tutorials that are out there they are meticulous about the brands they buy, and are very professional in the way that they put their make-up look together. So if you have daughters, granddaughters, nieces, sisters or any other awkward teens to buy for that love make-up, QVC is a fantastic place to buy some serious trend-led cosmetics at incredible prices.

So, onto my pick of the palettes. Now obviously if you are a bit of a make-up junkie like me, all make-up is gorgeous and you can never have too much, but a palette is just the best gift ever and so highly collectible, so here are my top picks for Christmas 2018!

The first palette I’ve gone for is the most affordable, and it’s an eye collection from Pixi. The Eye Reflections palette features 12 silky shades that all reflect the light, giving a naturally radiant look to the eyes. Created by make-up artist Petra Strand, this is one of the sought after palettes from their flagship Soho store.

Next, I’ve selected three palettes from Tarte because they are all so different and I just couldn’t chose between them!

  • The Pro Glow palette is an amazing contour and highlighter collection featuring Tarte’s Amazonian clay formulations to give you that golden glow for the festive season. It also comes with a super double ended brush.
  • The Don’t Quit Your Daydream palette contains seven great eye shades as well as a stunning highlighter and also comes with a handy make-up tool too.
  • The third Tarte offering is the Passport to Paradise collection, which includes a 15 shade limited edition eye palette alongside eyeliner, lipgloss, separate blusher and mascara so everything you need really – all at an exquisite price.

Now I can’t really talk about palettes without including Doll 10 and if you are quick you will be able to snap up the Ultimate Master Eye palette containing no less that 24 poured liquid powder shades that give you a cream shadow finish with the ease of a powder application, just genius!

So that’s just a snippet of the glorious array of palettes on offer, there are so many more top brand names to choose from like Bobbi Brown, It Cosmetics, Bareminerals, Mally, Laura Geller, Benefit and Beauty Bakerie to name but a few.

So if you want to be the coolest Grandma, Auntie or Mum around this Christmas, wrap up a palette and let’s show these teens we know what’s trending !

Happy shopping!
