Hello Summer!

Summer is here! Well it hasn’t quite made up its mind to be honest has it?!

I’ve still been getting into good habits with putting my Ultrasun tinted on just in case the sun decides to grace us with its presence each day!

Beauty Month is really filling the gap after jewellery month. So many fabulous brands here at QVC and amazing advice to make sure we can all be experts in our own beauty routines and really create the best ‘bespoke’ routines for ourselves.

I mentioned I’d been lucky enough to go to Paris at the end of last month, to work with the presenters who are about to launch QVC France – what a great team!

Here’s a picture of us all…

If you happen to be on holiday in France this summer, do make sure you flick through the channels and give them all a warm welcome! Exciting to see them getting to know some of the amazing brands we have here – what a treat the French have in store! Or rather not in store 🙂

I had a treat visit to Disneyland for the weekend on the end of it, which was wonderful. I’d never been and was fantastic! Pooh Bear and his friends had to be my favourites!

Clarence the catI rarely share this stuff, as it just feels so sensitive, but knowing how animal loving and kind you all are, I just wanted to share a deep sadness that my beautiful Siamese cat Clarence, of 19 years, passed away whilst I was away.

It was quite challenging, as you can imagine, but I feel so lucky to have had him. You may remember I showed pictures of him when I was on air, wearing the pet coats we had on.

Anyway, I know I join with so many of you who know and have gone through this, so am just grateful for the privilege it is to have had him in my life and focussing on the joy he brought and having him with me now in spirit – along with his little friend Millie, who I lost a few years ago.

Sending you all much love & look forward to seeing you on air soon.
Sara x

dear sarah,i wanted to reach out to you with your loss of your beautiful cat. I have had many from the rescue centres and gave them a good life before it was time to return to heaven
Here is a lovely poem for people and their pets x
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together….

Sara, enjoyed reading your blog. It is always sad to loose our beloved pets. We lost our Cat, Sandy on our Daughters birthday, as you can imagine that did not go down to well, but the one I find hardest to get over is my Standard Poodle, Tamarind, he was a strong Apricot in colour, and he was mine, as I have MS he was as good to me as any blind dog.
I sometimes have problems with my eyes and he would tell me if anything was coming or if we were at the road. So intelligent. He was 10 years old. I have a portrait of him in our hall, & when I need a cuddle or need to talk to him thats where u will find me. what I am trying to say is I really understand. I am so grateful for every second I spent with him. He was cousin to Roly from Eastenders.

Hi Sara, it looks like you had a wonderful in Paris recently & it will be great to see you back on our screens as you are one of my favourite presenters. I am so sorry to hear about your sad loss. Clarence looked a real sweetheart & very photogenic bless him. Yes try to keep your chin up Sara & remember the funny & wonderful times you had with him as pets bring so much love, joy & happiness to our lives. They can have a calming effect to on our busy stressful lives & all they ask in return is to be fed, watered & loved. I’m smiling to myself now as i remember someone saying “Dogs have owners & cats have staff!” & how true that is. Take care & i shall look forward to seeing you on my tv soon. Much love & hugs Sharon xx

Hi Sarah that’s really sad to hear. You never forget your cats I lost mine many years ago but still think about some of the funny quirks they had and both competing for getting the nearest to the fire they can.You were lucky to have had him for so long.many people don’t realise that just because he was a cat to some it’s heartbreaking for you and you need to grieve .

Hi Sara, what a great time you had in France with the potential French QVC presenters. A wonderful time in Disneyland too.
My heart goes out to you (together with tears) on the sad loss of your beautiful, much loved Siamese cat Clarence. How wonderful that he reached the age of 19 years. I understand how much you will miss him. I have had Siamese cats for over forty years and I know how special they are, especially with their intelligence and loyalty. I hope the time will come when you will soon remember him and the happy times you spent with him. Take care. Love Lizx

I know how you feel, Sara. I lost my cat two years ago she was 23′ got her when my daughter was, so she had grown up with her. I have buried her in her favourite spot in the garden and every morning when fill the bird feeder I always say ‘good morning’ to her, still miss her to this day.

I am so sorry to hear the sad news about your cat Clarence. Losing a pet is so sad and especially when you were away. You have had so many years of pleasure from him though and happy memories. My cocker spaniel was 14 when we lost him and it devastated us and is missed so much. On a positive note France sounded great. Welcome back.x

Dear Lorraine, Margaret, Sharon, Janet, Liz, Elaine, Jenny, Carole & Dee –
I cannot thank you enough for your kind words and thoughts about Clarence. I am so touched you took the time to write – it really meant so much. I take inspiration and joy from all you wrote and love knowing we all share this feeling and understand how deeply we feel it. I have had my Mum down for a while helping me out with things so keep counting my blessings and as many of you said remembering the wonderful times.
I am happy to be back on air after my french trip and love knowing you are all watching. Much love and appreciation to you all, Sara x
